Blast Mine should remain as a meme perk
Blast Mine is one of the most annoying perks to play against. Getting stunned and blinded for 4 seconds is not fun in the slighest. Even if it doesn't win the game, it doesn't matter since people run it to annoy the ######### out of killers. With this change, I see bully squads running 4 Blast Mines and trapping every single generation, making the killer get stunned every time they kick a gen. Increasing the trap duration to 120 sec removes almost all counterplay since the only counterplay to it is literally not kicking gens and waiting it out. 2 minutes is too long and practically gurantees the killer gets hit by it if they kick gens at all. You literally cannot get kicks at all without getting hit by Blastmine.

But at the same time, you cannot put a mine in another generator until the first mine has expired
It also helps a lot in situations like (3 gens)
It is also better to push them away from the generator and hit them than to kick the generator first
There are also perks to reduce the progress of the generator without going to kick it

You don't need to ever damage gen to buy enough time to win the game. If you hate blast mine so much, corrupt, deadlock, +aura perk +chase perk are perfectly fine strong thing. Another option is to stall game in another way - say plything+pentimento or dhope+undying if you are feeling lucky. Or take 2 endgame perks (say NOED+no way out). Or, just forget about all that because 4s stun is not that game-changing...

You don't even have to kick gens anymore. Jolt is pretty strong atm.

I'm going to have to hard disagree. The meta for the past few years has literally been gen regression. There's no way you claim damaging gens is unnecessary. Also, Pop Goes the Weasel and No Where To Hide are meta currently and requires kicking gens. Trail of Torment will likely also become meta next patch. There are also some killers, like Wraith and Skull Merchant, that are heavily reliant on kicking gens.
Fairly sure BHVR has said in the past that they don't design the game to need to run one perk to counter another. Here's one example https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3458720/#Comment_3458720

Saying we shouldn't buff a bad perk because it's unfun to go against is a terrible argument considering 99% of them are unfun to go against.
It's a niche perk that, as you said, isn't really useful, suggesting we should keep it in a barely viable state because you don't want people to use it is silly.

Nah. Multiple perks have been nerfed because they were extremely unfun to play, against, e.g. Boil Over, Decisive Strike, and Eruption. I see not buffing an unfun perk as a valid pre-emptive measure to avoid similar scenarios.

Honestly, niche perk that doesn't do anything while being actually infuriating to other side, might as well not exist.

I don't mind Blast mine and it's fun perk imo.
but "fun" argument is valid, at least based on past changes.
Many perks were nerfed, because they were unfun. DS, NOED, Eruption etc.
You even had whole killer nerfed for not being fun to play against -> Deathslinger, Freddy

They should change Blast Mine so it triggers when the gen explodes, even if the killer is nowhere close to it. Like, Blast Mine suddenly blinding the survivors working on it because the killer used Jolt.
NOW, that's would be a meme perk.

Boil over was nerfed because killers couldn't hook survivors, DS & Eruption were nerfed because they were deemed too strong, fun was not the priority
Otherwise, basically every slowdown, regression and anti-exhaustion perks and add-ons would be shaking in their boots alongside second chance and exhaustion perks.
Hell, even Diversion would most definitely be considered unfun if swf suddenly decided to popularize it and spam throwing pebbles at the killer.
Blast Mine absolutely has its uses though, i used it a lot before it was nerfed (and not even with repressed alliance), I always activated it before going for a save, it wastes the killers time, let me know if and when the killer went to kick my gen or offered me an opportunity to disappear if the killer was near but decided to kick the gen before chasing me.
I agree fun absolutely has a place in discussions, but it should not be the sole argument against a buff to a perk which needs it. Blast Mine isn't OP or meta or whatever, its nerf basically killed it and refusing to buff it only because some don't like going against it is not enough in my opinion.

Do you guys ever find anything in this game fun?

The new Blast Mine change is gross. Kicking gens is already a huge waste of time without pop; receiving a 4 second stun and getting a headache for utilizing a base mechanic that is mediocre 99% of the time is awful.

I wouldn't say Boil Over was too strong. It was more so annoying due to being unable to hook survivors in some situations. DS and Eruption perks were heavily nerfed and reworked due to a combination of being too strong and unfun to play against. For Eruption, they could have reduced the incapitated duration, but they removed it completely because it was unfun to play against. Eruption is actually a good example of not buffing an annoying perk. Almost no one used Eruption before they buffed it in patch 6.1.0. Buffing Eruption was what led to the annoying gen kick meta.
Yes, not getting Blastmined.

I didn't tell you to run Jolt to counter Blastmine, I said Jolt is pretty strong atm. So it's by default a better choice for gen regression than running Overcharge, CoB etc.
Pain Res is also good atm. The only decent gen-kicking perk that's left is Pop Goes the Weasel. Not saying the rest are bad, they're just not as strong as they were, so other perks have taken their place.
I see a lot more Wraiths run Jolt than gen kicking perks.
I also see a lot more killers running Plaything/Pentimento to force survivors to do totems as an alternative method of slowdown.

I didn't say it's unnecessary. I said there are good options around it - especially, because gen kick meta is dead. I even wrote you good alternatives that are perfectly viable option, where you won't ever need to kick the gen (making blast mine wasted perk slot against you)

What's next? Nerfing deception because you don't like falling for it that one time out of ten? Or red herring or diversion because you don't like deceiving plays and getting fake notifications? It's so unserious. Blast mine is fine.
1 -
It doesn't need a counter and it honestly doesn't need to be fun for killers, unless we wanna start nerfing every killer perk just bc it's unfun for survivors
3 -
I’m fine with it being buffed but two whole minutes is excessive.

Everything you said. This perk can be used strategically rather than just as a way to annoy the killer. I, too, will sometimes install a mine before I go for a hook save. If the killer doesn’t kick my gen I can use it’s aura to find my way back (I’ve never been good with directions and I still get lost easily in-game even with small maps.) I know other things like Wiretap can be used for that purpose too, but I get value out of Blast Mine in the ways you described too when it works.

I didn't say to nerf Blastmine though. I said to not buff it, which is happenning in this PTB.

It's really not that serious. It's almost like they want to push a wider variety of perks to fight stale metas so if they make other perks more attractive not everyone will run the same 4.
