Body Blocking Needs to be Looked At
As Survivor and Killer players, you guys should know of a term called "body blocking". This can be interpreted as:
- Survivors blocking the Killer from going after another Survivor or the same Survivor.
- Killers blocking the Survivors from getting out of a dead end area.
These tactics present with people a bad side-effect in that some players will abuse this. Survivors will often times block the Killer from trying to go after another Survivor after being unhooked to sport a fair game, Killers will sometimes block Survivors with the malicious intent to hold them hostage in an area.
But how can both of these be fixed? Well, there's two solutions for both sides that would be as fair as possible for the Survivors and the Killers.
Survivors
- After 4 seconds of being unhooked, taking a hit while another Survivor is within Protection Hit range will allow the Killer to ignore the Endurance status effect.
- This action will be considered a Conspicuous Action and thus will be counted towards progressing the game. If you are doing this action, you will no longer be considered a tunneled Survivor.
Killers
- After remaining stationary, or within a 6 meter range without moving for 10 seconds, a timer will start wherein the Killer will lose collision completely after 5 additional seconds.
- This effect does not occur if the Killer is currently in a chase with the Survivor or near a hooked Survivor, preventing any exploits that may come with the ability.
- When the Killer loses collision, they are required to move out of a circular area that is 12 meters in radius in order to regain their collision with the Survivor.
This should make it so that the Survivors have to actually spread out away from each other or have the rescuer block for the Survivor being hunted down by the Killer, and should make it so that the Killers cannot exploit the various dead ends of each map (looking at you, Gas Heaven) and exploit collision near obstacles to prevent Survivors from playing the game.

Body blocking shouldn't be an issue as far as survivors go because it requires teamwork (survivors not sitting on gens). I get its annoying but every single time you nerf survivors, it just leads to more grn rushing. I wish killers could understand this.

Survs trading health states is one of the most effective forms of teamwork in this game. It's also sadly often needed to interrupt a hard tunnel.
Smart timely blocking will usually benefit the team overall, whether it's allowing a reset to the team or slowing momentum. But the reverse is true as well. Unwise blocking should lead to the snowballing that can bring everything to a screeching halt.

If a Survivor is blocking you, as the killer, you can just hit the blocking Survivor correct? I'm not trying to be rude, just trying to understand. The killer holding a Survivor hostage is against the game rules as far as I know.

one word. overpowered.

Which is? Killer capitalizing on such an opportunity? Or survs blocking to stop a tunnel?

body blocking.

If I wanted Body Blocking removed, I want it to be not effective if you are being tunneling exclusively. I hate how as soon as I hook a Survivor, and then the unhooking happens when 5-10 seconds when I leave; and go chase after rescuer, especially if I have Make Your Choice. The unhooked survivor literally goes put of their way to run towards me and expect me to hit them during their limited-time endurance; just I feed them a hit and dash, and let both of them get away, especially the rescuer so they can hide or male so much distance that my Make Your Choice perk is useless.
I think it is stupid that Basekit BT makes unhooked survivors bit more cocky and sometimes approaching the killer instead of fleeing, just so they have a excuse to be tunneling in the first place, and give their friends a advantage. In these predicament I either wait out the 16 seconds or hit them immediately just in case of Off The Record value.
In my opinion, just think Survivor should just lose collision with the killer and simple make it impossible to bodyblock the killer while chasing another survivor.

Old sabo meta was overpowered. One survivor could Sabo a hook for the entire game. Instablinds were overpowered and were nerfed. Body blocking is not overpowered. It takes teamwork and risk. Multiple survivors making a play to save each other is not overpowered. You likely got one or two hits in the process. And all the while, the survivors were not doing generators. Please stop with this nonsense.

And all the while, the survivors were not doing generators.
right.

So survivors are body blocking you while doing generators at the same time? Your games have been rough!
1 -
Damn survivors, how they dare to teamwork?
2 -
Yeah, it's almost as if this game is a 4v1 or something?

Whilst body blocking can be annoying, like others have said, it's a core part of working as a team. Giving up your protection to protect another team member kind of comes naturally after a while. Assuming you care about the experience of your teammates that is. Yun-Jin players can ignore everything I've said so far.
I have been body blocked by killers maybe twice, and by a couple of Dwight's. You should definitely lose collision when the crows form.

Lots of you guys are quite literally missing the point of what I'm saying with Survivor body blocking, so I'll put it in one sentence you'll all still misinterpret:
The recently UNHOOKED SURVIVOR being the body blocker is the problem.

No, we understand. The thing is, however, that sometimes you have to protect the one who just rescued you. I’d love to be able to just run off and get healed but most of my games are inhabited by camping killers. Teamwork means getting both of you away from that hook safely. Using my endurance to take a protection hit for my rescuer is risky because it means I’m canceling my chance of making distance before you can down me again, but I’m also potentially protecting a fellow injured teammate from trading places with me. You’ll never find me just running after the killer so I can use the endurance nor will I follow a killer who is chasing someone after I get unhooked. However, if necessary I will get in their way to protect my rescuer.

run stbfl. that perk you deemed too strong. problem solved.

The only aspect about just blocking that I really hate is, when the survivors crouch behind you and due to FOV you don't realise what's going on. It makes you look ultra dumb and is as emersion breaking as it gets.
A survivor running out of a blind spot to block a doorway, so that their buddy gets away, though, that's one of the core aspects of good team play. Sure, I hate it in the spur of the moment when that happens, but that's a good thing.
There is one thing that we could talk about, though, and that's how survivors are completely unmovable objects for the killer. Bodyblocking has its place, but nearly all killers are towering monstrosities and entity-empowered beings, yet a flimsy Nea or Claudette can totally stop them in their place.
This is not a problem for the initial impact, but can lead to frustrating situations in chases when 3 peeps are shielding one survivor and they just stand their, keeping you in place. Maybe the killer could be able to shove survivors out of the way after 0.75s or something? Just a thought.
