Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance absolutely needs to be killswitched

The current glitch that makes the game consider a survivor hooked almost right when the killer pushed the Hook button, makes Pain Resonance near impossible to counter.

Paired with Dead Man's Switch, it becomes absolutely unplayable.

If it isn't fixed very soon it's a very serious reason to activate a killswitch there.

Not a Bug · Last Updated

This is not a bug, the animation and audio have been changed so that the perks activate the moment the survivor is put on a hook

The killswitch is for game breaking bugs, not minor issues with the timing of the hooking animation.

I'm pretty sure what's being described here isn't even a glitch.

The same thing happens with BBQ&Chili and Blood Echo.

This is a gamebreaking bug though? I'm not describing the scream, but the fact that the game register survivors being hooked before they're actually on hook, therefore triggering Pain Resonnance too early.

This is not gamebreaking by any stretch of the imagination. A gamebreaking bug is one that literally breaks the game. I.e. makes it unplayable.

Take for instance when Wake Up! used to crash the killer's client, or when old Legion's slowdown add-ons were stacking incorrectly causing Mending to take over an hour. These are both gamebreaking because they render the game literally or effectively unplayable.

Pain Resonance triggering before the survivor is physically placed on the hook is definitely annoying, but by no means a serious issue.

It’s intended. They buffed BBQ and Grim Embrace aura reading by 1 second each specifically because of this change and those perks starting the aura reveal sooner as a result (because if they didn’t buff them then it would be an indirect nerf because the killer can’t look around to see the auras for a brief moment).
