Do you think Blindness and Oblivious need rework ?

You know, since the Dredge come in this game, I'm in a pure love of the Nightfall, I play this game too recently to not having the moon offering

And Blindness... Is an effet that I find pretty weak; Strong against soloQ or Even Newby, but just "useless" against people who can locate with no great effort or just people on com... It's just an effect who delete some times the capacity from seeing aura (when people get hooked, or with some perks), so Why we don't get some similare effect from Nightfall and giving to survivor a darker vision? Or even better, when Survivor get the Blindness effect, the aura capacity disapear and get at the first person view for the time beeing? Why not?

As for Oblivious ... Undetectable have the same effect, but weaker for two reason

1- Is a debuff on the survivor, so Survivor can see when he can't ear the terror radius, and that's not the case for undetectable

2- Undetectable hide the red stain, Oblivious not

First one, I was thinking that Oblivious was good, and I remember Undetectable who did the exact same thing, but better and, we get more element to get Undetectable than Oblivious

Oblivious effect can be placed by: 12 add-on, 5 perks (two of them are hexes) and 4 killers power

Undetectable effect can get by: 17 add-on, 6 perks and 8 killer power

But for this one, I don't see how we can buff it, because, in a way, it was like a undetectable bis but on the debuff side for survivor, and the other.. hidding the terror radius for survivor is powerfull, if there no good field of view to see the killer, nothing can say where he is, making survivor more carefull, and getting more perks who affect survivor with this (Oblivious/undetectable for killer) can be rrrrreally fun

(NB: Blindness have 15 add-on and 4 perks (one are hex, and there's technically 5 perks but the fifth one is from the survivor side)

I'm the only one who find this two effect need some "love"? Like we got Haemorrhage buff long times ago?

    Blindness yes.

    Oblivious i would say not.

Blindness could have a little more like, you cant see your own progress bar(gens, healing, totems). But can see allies hud.

So solo Q is not affected more than SwF.

Or if blindd you cant see red stain so it can be combines with oblivious.

    Dont know 2 random ideas.

Because i consider a survivor dont hear you is good enoght.

Plaything (at least for me) mess a lot with survivors and allow you to snowball easier. You can be on top of them before they noticed giving you a free hit/down.

Yes if SwF if they are in packs of 2 the other one can call out i know, still a good effect. May be that survivor cant see your red stain??

Plaything is really good, a perk underrated at my opinion, but when it come with, like I said, people who are in comm (even not good enough to play) , it still can dilute the effect

And the problem is, if we add the red stain hidden, it's just some "undetectable effect" but survivor can know it

Well if a survivor "knows" is in danger, it affects how that player play.

"I need to be in a more open space so killer dont catch me off guard turning a corner" This alone makes less probable that survivor works on a gen behind a wall or in a corner.

If oblivious hide your red stain to that survivor it gives you an actual tool to mindgame in loop, doesnt matter if solo or SwF. That alone could be fine.

Oblivious is good, blindness is niche but you need to be very carefull.

Both this status effects have way more impact on soloq then SWF.

So, if you buff them to much they will stomp lower level survivors but do absolutly nothing to high level SWF.

So basically you are just increasing the frustration on both sides and not acomplishing anything.

Oblivious is alright were it is, it's undetectable but allows for certain terror radius only effects to be usable, such as Doctors Static Blast, but has the downside of not hiding/concealing the killer's aura or red stain. If a second status effect need's looking into it's Incapacitated since it's implementation so far is useless or overtuned.

Blindness is currently lackluster, there are some gimmicky combinations that make it work well. One change that probably won't make it a better status effect but somewhat more useful, is having it also hide the HUD outright or just the Survivor Status portion of the HUD, prevent the indication of survivors health states, action's, progress and chase indication. This would also work on killer as well since blindness can be applied to both sides currently. I've seen suggestions for it to apply an effect like night fall but that seem's rather counter productive giving add-ons and perks the ability of 1 killer to all, would be interesting when a killer is blinded.

To go the rather wacky change suggestion route, have blindness put survivors into first person view for the duration and killer's into 3rd person. Useful, no, fun, maybe.

That's why I got the idea to force the survivor to go on the first person vision, it make the same for the two side, solo and SFW

    ######### yeah, I forgot about the Doc, thank's !

For that, the idea of Dredge can serve as inspiration for the modification, but where the effect is not identical, more to decrease the field of vision, to slightly darken the environment, to push the person to no longer have the field of vision as wide but much narrower (hence the idea of switching to fps mode)

Nightfall currently causes eye strain/migraines for many survivor players. It's bad enough after one match against the Dredge, it'd be horrible against multiple killers.

Agreed. Nightfall is one of the worst things in DBD currently. It basically just stops the game for the survivors... they can barely see 2 feet in front of them... They can't plan out loops when running away or have an idea where the killer is. Its just an environmental effect. i.e. Not a skilled move, just something that activates... I'm not sure if PH or Dredge activates the environmental effect or not... still, no skill necessary. DBD needs to eliminate environmental effects, as they don't seem to be fun at all to play against and it is has nothing to do with the player playing the Killer. (i.e. Dredge and Pinhead)

I lol'd when I saw the OP say "I'm in pure love with Nightfall". Obviously... as Dredge, it blinds all survivors and does the work for you. Why wouldn't you be in love with something that requires no skill on your end.

Look at this, a guy who allows himself to judge people without knowing anything

If I want to piss off, I would tell you that yes, Nightfall requires skill, but on the side of the survivors

That doesn't prevent us from appreciating an "environmental" mechanism as you say. Because it adds tension, when the dredge arrived in DBD, this system specific to it, a lot of people adored it, precisely because 'it grows in what was before DBD, horror, and that's what I appreciate this concept, I don't want a wrung game or there is nothing particular related in this area, or take random character from a comic book, a manga, a film, like why not john wick as a killer who pursues random character because all that can add something unique to the environment is "too boring" or can be in a game because YOU don't find it fun

As a Killer or a Survivor, lot of them find it fun

Little reminder, it's supposed to be a killer, with these powers, which torments the survivors, the survivors aim to survive against this

If you come to remove all that "torments" the survivor to prevent him from having the slightest handicap, what would push people to play this or that killer? You don't like the Dredge, no need to be dismissive insulting people
