Fast Vaults need to stay
As per title. Killers got favored at vaults for 5+ years now. We all got used to vault hits making no sense and now when you finally fix them you revert it immediately? The only minor issue is how fast they're at dropdowns. Although it was even more killer favored at dropdowns before so I'm not sure if that's even a big issue.

Agreed. Seems really dumb to introduce something to the game and then remove it immediately. A fast vault should be... ... ... FAST.

I wouldnt say they were broken all those years more like they were broken since dedicated servers came out , before that , vaults were more responsive IMO. pretty much the same as they are right now with the fix.
however latency still rewards bad ping , so no changes on that.
edit: wait they did reverted? no way..am pretty sure is not..are u talking about PTB or now on live?

They did make fast vault bad again on the ptb, because wasn't working as inteded, instead of fixing the animatiom, they just did them bad again, giving no distance

The fact people got so used to them is probably why they're keeping them. I'm imagining something similar happened with blights hug tech because that still hasn't been patched.

Omg seriously?? Finally these damn window hits get addressed and they just revert it immediately? That's it, taking a break from this game. Its just become more frustrating than fun.

Glad making the game clunkier and less consistent was a higher priority than literally any of the other glaring problems the game currently has. 👍

they already said that is not intended and they will eventually are gonna removed , however to this day is still a thing.
by "people" thats mostly killer and as someone who plays killers vaults were insanely generous since dedicated server at the point where seeing a survivor making you miss a hit on a window was soo rare due to desync and the fact that survivor were hitable during the entire animation 0.5 a a couple of miliseconds after due to latency.
even when people got used to the broken vaults since dedicated server , that doesnt mean it is fair , is just always BS for survivor on killer it might not look that bad , but on survivor is miserable getting hit like this.

Survivors literally have invincibility while vaulting right now. There are numerous clips of it. I can't take the time to find one rn because I'm at work, but Reddit has at least three different examples.
Maybe they don't need outright reverted but something is clearly and obviously wrong with fast vaults atm

Giving survivors extra distance at the end of a vault animation, isn't supposed to change hit validation. Those are two completely separate things, and the new vault animations were absolutely bugged because they were affecting hit validation.

Trapper has surpassed F tier and is in the hell zone with these new vaults I don't think they can leave them as they are

People can't understand how a killer with long arms and a half meter long machete would be able to hit you 1 meter away through open and unobstructed windows, it seems. In fact, what not makes sense is the attack range of most of this killers. I mean, have you seen Nemesis's arms? Why is he so adamant to just throw an straight punch and keep throwing body-range hooks?
Anyway, the problem with the "new fast vault" is that it literally gives invincible frames when vaulting. I had a game tonight where I should have downed someone but because he just started to vault the moment I was going to hit him he just vaulted and I ended up hitting the window. Something like in this vid, but even earlier in the vault:

newbugged fast vaults should not stay in the game, and I don't mind if fast vaults receive more distance but the killer should be able to hit you during the whole process unless you are so far from the window that you are no longer in attack range anymore.Post edited by Batusalen on11 -
Slower vaulting speed has to return and here is why:
The whole balance was build around vaulting speed during last years (when it was broken). Yes, they fixed it. But it resulted into FASTER vaulting. So there are 2 choices, rebalance everything they've done during those years OR make vaulting slower so it matches broken status but with proper animation. You can NOT be serious wanting that huge survivors buff to stay O.O.

I can be serious. I play both sides and it's fine. Surv is weak rn anyway in most matches because solo queue.

Then killer should be able to hit over small loops or not get stunned by pallets for 4 minutes. It's not about realism,it's about visual feedback. Vaults need a buff.

You can win most of your games as trapper without even using your power if you're good. A few of my friends are on winstreaks that are 10+ games long. Even the weakest killers still can win most matches.

- Animation was broken because it did NOT match the real speed. Animation was bugged, not the speed itself. Developers accidently fixed gameplay instead of animation and they are reversing it back.
- Devs balance the game around 60% Kill rate, so yes, Survivors are and should be weaker according to that.

The "updated" fast vaults were *undeniably bugged* Male survivors got more distance than female survivors and it doesn't take a PHD in game design to understand thats not an intended feature.

Vault locations are not meant to give you i-frames, because as someone already pointed out, it would be hella weird if killers with half a meter of arm length + Weapon of choice couldn't hit you mid vault/animation end because "lel its a vault".

That was no fix. hitboxes were fine, the ping and the servers are not, that caused all the wth hits. with the changes now laggers cant hit you, but neither the good ping killers.before the update good ping killer could hit you but also the laggers too... so it's not good at all. so bhrv needs to addres the root of the problem.

You are right, it is about visual feedback, and having a force field in an open window just because you are at the other side when you are still at hit range is not good visual feedback. Simple as that.

Those are two very different things.
It's like saying killers are weak, because of Trapper.

The problem was the anniversary caused many mismatched servers to be used for matches. That meant most matches were excessively laggy, and Killers could get undeserved hits. Lag in this game favors the 'attacker', which almost exclusively is the Killer. There are some mechanics where lag favors Survivors, such as revealing Ghostface, or EMPs clearing Singularity infections. Since most Killer players are used to lag being on their side, nothing was different during their Anniversary gameplay, but Survivor sided gameplay was miserable. People were complaining about the lag hits, and the devs 'fixed' the wrong problem, and gave us these 'giga'-vaults instead of fixing latency at vault points.

Vaults have always been this ######### and servers keep getting worse. Vaults needed a buff for years.

You're not playing against pro SWF players. You're playing against solos and bad players most of your matches. If you're losing,it's your fault 99% of the time.

That's true if you late at night for your server, but when everyone is sub 40 ping vaults are fine. Due to a nightshift, I had to deal with 100+ ping minimum lobbies often when playing on days off, and they are super jank at that level of lag.

This happens to me all the time and makes me turn off the game and stay away from it for a long time.
Does this game defy the laws of physics? How did this get past development? I'm really curious as to who thinks this is acceptable and why.

This is how vaults should work but everyone got used to getting the dumbest hits ever so this feels broken to them. I don't care that much though since I'm used to stuff taken away once big content creators whine about it.

If they are truly listening to the vocal minority I have no words.
Listening to people who live on the game and do little to nothing else with their life vs the majority which are casual people and do NOT live on a game is bad for so many reasons. You aren't gonna make money pissing off the majority of your player base vs a few no lifers.

they don't give you iframes during the vault. they give you distance after finishing the vault. they're reverting entire change for both males and females to old one in the ptb. looping as survivor has never felt better with those vaults. you would think they would just fix male one but they're entirely reverting the change.

Obviously, you didn't see any of the numerous videos online that clearly shows how survivors lose their hitboxes many times the moment they start to vault. The distance doesn't have anything to do with it, it basically makes you invincible because it is bugged.
But again, I don't think anyone would mind if they added more distance to it as long as the survivor can still be hit during the vault as it should be, and this include at the other side of the window when the vault has finish.

Seeing survivors vault over Trapper's beartraps is ridiculous, I am extremely against adding distance to it.

But the problem with Trapper's beartraps is that the distance male survivors vault is also bugged, so technically there is two distances of vaulting. If they do it right then you would only have to put the traps at the new vault distance and problem solved.

I've heard that one could fast vault over the Trapper's trap in the tutorial and soft-lock it, so that might be why they have to revert it?
