Steam player profiles + unfair matchmaking
Recently, due to the fact that I am a relative beginner (200 hours), I constantly throw up opponents many times more experienced than me (2-6k hours). Even at the stage in the lobby, I go to see the profile of the survivors in order to save my nerves. But very often, after checking the profile, the Steam profile window freezes and cannot be closed even by restarting the game. the only thing that helps is to leave the lobby, go to the store and make a purchase with a cancellation. This is very disturbing ... 🥹
p.s. I put up with unfair matchmaking, but still would like to know in advance that an experienced player will play against me🫡

Its because the rank resets every 13th of the month. The matchmaking has nothing to do with their hours in the game, but their current in game rank. Your opponents will be much lower in skill as time passes, until the next 13th of the month.

This is not the case. Ranks got changed to grades and Grades do not affect matchmaking. DBD now uses MMR which is completely hidden and supposedly decays if you haven't played in a while.
The main problem is that it seems when people dodge out of a lobby, the system ignores MMR in order to fill up the lobby and likely OP is being thrown into lobbies where someone had dodged.

Interesting. I was not aware of this. Thank you for correcting my mistake.
