Can we forfeit without penalty after X minutes?
32+ minute Skull Merchant match.
She didn't do anything but play Gen Protector. Survivors pointing at hook wanting to leave and she didn't let them.
If Skull Merchant won't hook us so we leave at least let me forfeit and let me keep my Bloodpoints and Cake. Why should I be penalized for bad Killer gameplay.

Sure, would help both sides.
Hiding survivors can be annoying too, wouldn't mind just end the game with button without penalty.
Normal game just won't get over 30 minutes, it could probably be lower. Even 20 minutes might still be fine.

You can already do this. Walk up to the killer.
A killer refusing to hook a survivor right in front of them is a pretty fringe case. Pretty sure if that's happening in a 30+ minute game you can report for taking hostage.

Well... one would think a greater forfeit function would be preferable to just allowing DCs... but not an unreasonable idea.
Otherwise with these absurd length games, I'm trying to think if there is a counter that I haven't thought of to just holding the generator until SM downs you.
She can't kick gens while you keep repairing... she can't stop you repairing gens without downing you... and if she downs you you'll bleed out eventually...
I'm wondering if there is some combination I'm missing that means she can stop gens progress without downing people... 🤔

She could potentially grab you off the gen then force you to wiggle off by repeatedly dropping you. But this is fairly time consuming and if everyone just commits to the gens she'd probably lose them.
So I'd say you're right. Just slam gens.

She just patrol the 3 gens, kick with Overcharge and place new drone. Two people gave up and stood under hook waiting to be let out. Try getting us two to get a gen done. If too much progress she camped it. She ignored people under hooks and only stopped people from doing gen. People under hook had crows and nothing.

How can killer refuse?
If they refuse to kill you, then just work on gens...
You can hold one survivor hostage if they are last and you block them in corner.
You can't hold multiple survivors hostage. It's not possible unless you are cheater.
I would argue survivors are better at this, most killers will never find survivors if they decide to hide. It happens quite often when there are only two survivors alive, but they usually don't have that good patience.

Exactly. No game of Dbd should be forced to be longer than 20 minutes regardless of anything.

Oh I understand, but, if you want out of the game (via a forfeit), in the meantime, while the feature doesn't exist, what is stopping you from just holding the generator and ignoring SM?
She either has to down you to stop you, in which case you'll bleed out, or she has to let you complete the gen.
If you've actually given up, just give her the kill to inflate her win ratio.

There is no need, if you want to forfeit the game just quit and dc.

The devs have stated multiple times that slugging until bleed out isn't a reportable offense, for "taking the game hostage" or otherwise. That's why the bleed out timer exists.
It sucks, and I'm not defending it, but it's not reportable.

I said nothing about bleedout.

Another alternative is something that's in overwatch competitive. If someone DCs, they receive the penalty, and anyone is free to DC after a certain period if they don't reconnect. Of course, these are very differnt games, but dbd could benefit from something similar. Perhaps in addition to this, if a survivor DCs, you can DC without penalty after x minutes or whatever. It's good to have your bases covered after all.

"A killer refusing to hook a survivor right in front of them is a pretty fringe case. Pretty sure if that's happening in a 30+ minute game you can report for taking hostage."
Surely you can understand why I assumed you meant a dying survivor, right?

Sure, but the TC is describing a scenario where the killer is refusing to hit and down people.

I must have misunderstood. My b.
