Texas Chainsaw Massacre has the balls to turn off PC Crossplay
DBD should go to the same route with this. Show some courage. Disable PC crossplay and let the cheaters fight themselves.

not every PC player is a cheater, there are plenty of people that play with their friends between PC and consoles and cheaters can - if they want to - already circumvent it anyways and play against console players that have crossplay disabled.
instead, they should focus on trying to make reporting even more accessible, and implement automatic cheat detection (that shouldn’t be too strict bc of possible glitches and bugs of course). Hopefully they find a way to still create/save a recording on reports on their servers even though they stated it’s not possible with the current framework and would need a complete restructuring of the code..

I wouldn't say that the decision requires balls, more stupidity.
Cutting off a good portion of legitimate players from being able to use crossplay in a game's early stages is not a very good idea at all. Damaging a game's reputation like this in it's infancy is potentially going to have long lasting effects on the playerbase, there's already been quite a significant drop in Steam playercounts not even a day after the change.
This is a massive kneejerk reaction from GUN, and a result of their own incompetence. I don't think I ran into a single cheater once across my time of playing and all of a sudden they decided to take the nuclear option of segregating an entire platform from crossplay.
I don't think this kind of decision making bodes well for the future of the game as a whole. It's a damn shame because the game is great, but if they keep doing stuff like this it'll send it to an early grave.

Cheaters can just bypass crossplay anyways. There wouldn't be a point than to make it so that people can't play with their friends causing those people to find a different game to play.

You mean the game that had the absolutely gigabrain idea of not having any anticheat for the gamepass version? Yeah, no surprise they have to go for desperate and radical panic solutions.
And cheaters totally can't just bypass crossplay limitations by spoofing being on an entirely different platform or anything 🙃

Cheaters aren't as widespread in DbD as they're in TCM but I know somebody here is going to claim they go against cheaters in DbD every match.🤓

It’s not a good move on TCM’s part. I wouldn’t be surprised if cheaters can force their way around that measure regardless and it ends up only affecting legitimate players.

I think consoles should be on their own platform in every game at base in dbd too. Pc just has too great advantage in all games. But it should be option to play with pc if console player wants but then he would get matched just with other pc players.

I also wish for a console-only CrossPlay option for DBD, but the harm to queue times would be so bad for PC, and not really good for everyone overall.
Although I'd like to see it tested, since the consoles are the vast majority of the playerbase it would leave Steam and Epic and Windows in such a small pool that matchmaking would be probably pointless.

One feature they should add is a "replay mode", so you can rewatch matches in every angle and such. It would help to better identify and record cheaters after the match, apart of all the other advantages of having a replay function (learning, machinima, etc.).
Also, more than "automatic", they should add their own cheat detection and not rely on EAC only for multiple reasons.

Not all PC players are cheaters... but I will admit (as a PC player), Mouse and Keyboard give you FAR more advantage over Controller, now that can definitely be an unfair advantage but not the whole "all pc players are cheaters" part which is just unfair to pc players who aren't cheaters.

That's not the majority of PC players though, are some using controller? Yes, but most are Mouse and Keyboard.
Nonetheless it still is an advantage and I'll even go as far as saying Controller on PC is more advantageous than on Console considering extra programs for remapping + elevated sensitivity controls on PC for controller exist.

Isn't pc players the bigges playerbase? Dtill some console players would keep playing on pc servers so yeah queque times would be probably bit longer but matched would be more balanced. Only fair way I can see console players remaining in same platform as pc is to give console players some assist.
Better aim assist on killer similar to fornite which actually helps. Adding mouse and keyboard support as well. Then also adding 120 fps on new gen consoles and removing unfair pc killer techs which are not possible on console.

Altogether the consoles greatly outnumbered those on PC yeah. The exact numbers cannot be known (console privacy stuff) but worldwide it's not really close.

I use controller on PC not to tryhard because well ... who needs extra ######### on Horror Asyn games ?
I just use because it feels confortable for my hands.
