don't hide prestige in lobby

Apparently I was selected without asking to test this but ok 🙃, I ended up not liking it. the idea of this is to prevent killers from leaving the lobby right? so just increase the penalty for that, I think it's silly how weightless the dbd quit ban is (I've already taken a few due to bad internet) and it's something that isn't heavy (15~25m) so the penalty should make the killer think twice before leaving 1~15 hour (15 or more if he keeps leaving)

I'm a main killer and I loved seeing the survivors' prestige, so I knew the match would be challenging and I played more focused. another suggestion is to do this only for the killers or make an option to be able to activate or deactivate this which I think would be better. thanks

I play killer too and I love the change because people don't get targeted by weirdos and freaks. The feature needs to stay and I hope everybody gets it.

I very much agree. My highest prestiged character is a Killer so I suppose you could argue I'm a Killer main but I actually enjoy not seeing prestige. It's also kinda fun to guess when people are wearing original cosmetics like the Bald Dwight cosmetics. Will this person be super high prestige and possibly great at looping me or brand new to the game? Fun to find out. Not that Prestige necessarily equals skill but there's usually a difference between a locker Dwight and one who rarely misses skill checks.

Not only that but when I'm playing Survivor, I feel more comfortable thinking that fellow (usually newer) Survivors won't want me to carry the game simply because of my somewhat higher prestiged Yoichi. The fact is, I'm awful. And I don't want people to think I'll be great just because of my Prestige.

lol half the killers still see your prestige soo. the simple much better way to do this feature is to make prestiges hidden from killers pre-match. just like how survivors can't see the killer's prestige, killers shouldn't be allowed to see survivor's prestiges.

Hello friend, I also play survivor sometimes! and I like to see/show prestige even because the idea of prestige is to be shown, another option that I ended up thinking is probably better was: if the killer or survivor leaves the lobby a lot because of prestige (I don't know why a survivor would do that but ok) this function is activated for determining time being part of the ban thus preventing the killer or surv from seeing the prestige. and I think it would be a good idea to keep an option to disable or enable it even for those who don't like it because I understand who is approving this idea

It should be an option. I hate the test. I much rather prefer to see prestige and mine to be shown. I didn’t grind p100 to just hide it. Hell, show my killer prestige too.

Also, think it’s extremely stupid it’s hidden for SWF too.

It does not prevent lobby dodging. Killers and survivors will dodge for many more things other than prestige.

It won’t prevent all lobby dodging but it will help reduce it. Your P100 (or whatever prestige) will still be visible after the match so it’s not like no one will be able to see it at all. All it does being visible prior to the game starting is encourage lobby shopping and it’s too common that someone ends up getting backfilled into a lobby they don’t belong in because too many players lobby dodge.

While this is certainly true, think about it this way:

They have a list of reasons why players dodge lobbies, thereby messing up the matchmaking. You go one by one and see what can be done about it realistically, test things out, & try to remove reasons to dodge or shop around.

To be honest, I really don’t get dodged much playing survivor, and I run with multiple p100’s in a SWF. I think it’s a difference in MMR. People getting dodged a ton are probably sitting in a lower MMR. I really do not see it often.

If you are in that high MMR area, then you're in the minority of the overall playerbase. The devs have pretty much always looked at the player experience of the largest portion first, then the newbies, and then after that maybe y'all. Maybe.

So if veteran players like you (and to a lesser extent me) can think of the overall group like they do, some of these tests & changes begin to make more sense.

I can’t say for certain if we are high mmr or not, but we are a SWF of vet players and our escape rate is pretty high, so I’m just assuming. But I’d assume lobby dodging a p100 survivor would occur much more frequently with killers who aren’t as good.

But I understand your point. That’s valid. I hope at the very least they make it an optional setting.
