Why doesn't console have anonymous mode

Are you on Xbox? If I recall, Xbox requires names to be visible in accordance with their policies, so BHVR cannot implement anonymous mode on Xbox.

Correct. You can hide your name so it only shows your character name (which I learned today there are people who think this means their playing with/against bots) but anyone who clicks on the name can see your profile. So Xbox players can see other Xbox players profiles but cross-platform can't so better than nothing IG.

Its actually really dumb.
95% of anonymous mode players are either hacking or trolling the game.
Console players cannot hack...
PC players are the ones who shouldn't actually have it.

It was conceived as a shield to protect from harassers to begin with and it serves that purpose even if some people misuses it (like any other feature implemented to any game.) It’s been pointed out above that Xbox policy doesn’t allow this feature so it’s not on BHVR’s end to do something about it.
