I think basement should have 2 entrances

I feel like that would help it not be so opressive while still keeping it a dangerous place.

coordinated survivors can come in from both sides to maybe get a save, and all that stuff.

how does a second entrance physicaly fit into any map? it probably doesn't.

So make it supernatural. like, a rift in space. make it need to be open(from outside) for maybe 1 minute at a time, and then it closes for 2. so you gotta go fast or take the stairs out.

While being caught is basement is nasty and can be annoying, I think there is something to be said for the threat of it, and realising "Crap, basement is here, I need to leave and get as far away as possible!"

I'm also on Tome 1 and need to do the "sacrifice 4 surivors in basement" challenge at some point... so please wait for that :D

I think it's nice to have a bit of threat from the killer side. There is much left in the game to feel intimidated as survivor these days maybe ive just been playing to long an just use to everything

I mean...you can still do that. just adding an extra mechanic to the game. cause sometimes, the basement is just unfair.

we just get used to it.

adding this is more of a "getting hooked on the basement does not equals death. we can do stuff about it even if the killer stands near the stairs looking at them"

This is true, I actually like your idea BTW, and I do ackowledge and agree with the overly punishing nature of basement...

The only issue I'm pointing out is having another way in and out does reduce the Lion's Den feeling of basement quite a fair amount... and while basement does encourage/faciliate pretty nasty play, it's one of those where if there is a way it can be relatively simply subverted, the basement kinda loses it's sting.

If going for it, I'd say make the other entrace one way... so you can get in... but you still have to get out via the stairs. So you can get a surprise save, but you're still deep in the smelly stuff.

I'd go personally for a 1-way alien tunnel like crawl space that spawns near basement somewhere a survivor can drop in to the middle of basement and make the save... At least then survivors can get the trade relatively easily, and with REALLY good coordination and use of borrowed time/OTR or whatever can guarantee at least being on the way out of basement when running the gauntlet, rather than always on the way in.

Yeah me too, as are all basement related challenges 😩

No, its the whole point of basement+ its the only thing that makes shack even remotely risky. basement shoud always spawn in shack imo, so theres punishment for going down on the strongest tile.

Naw. The basement should be heavily in favor of the killer. There should always be an area that is always high risk for survs to be cought in. It also can make usually very safe central buildings a bit more manageable, like Ormond or Storehouse for example.
