Please stop unnecessarily linking cosmetics [Fire Moon Festival Collection Feedback]
Why are we still releasing sets that do not need to be sets in 2023?
I'm getting tired of sounding like a broken record at this point. A lot of players have been vocal about this since sets were first added to the game. I, for one, give this same feedback in the player satisfaction surveys every time!
Min's "Fire Moon Player" outfit doesn't need to be a set. There's a very clear divide between where the shirt ends and the skirt starts. Even if there's some other reason the top and bottoms wouldn't work separately, there's absolutely no excuse for the hair being linked too.
As for Gabriel's "Fire Moon Engineer" outfit, I can understand why the top and bottoms need to be linked (because the jacket is all one piece). But the glasses do not need to be part of the set! Sets have been in the game for three years now, why is it not possible to have the head piece be separate?
I remember BHVR stating some time ago that breaking sets was patched out to preserve the integrity of their licensed characters. However, both of these characters are original. The only explanation I can think of as to why we keep getting setted cosmetics for original characters is to prevent clipping problems.
However that argument is immediately rendered invalid by the fact the very set they just released has clipping problems:
And the fact you can create some absolute monstrosities with Hag, Dredge, Ace etc.
I hate to sound cynical, but at this point I genuinely believe most sets exist just to get people to shell out more cash.
These cosmetics are beautiful. The art team have (as usual) done an incredible job on them. But I think I'm just going to vote with my wallet and not bother picking them up until the set problem is addressed.

Same for Killer wepons. If its not licenced it doesnt make sence.

Yes! I forgot to include that, but I totally agree.

linked should never have been a thing in the first place. every single player loves to mix match etc. this is just removing something that everone enjoys. L move. Let us mix and make some wacky looking characters lol.

i'm not hyped about Feng's outfit too. Especially lack of physics. We have full flow for Yun Jin's dress, but for Fengs it's not for some reason.

it never even makes sense if it is licensed. Sure maybe playing birkin with the cane would be odd, but blight with the pipe? why not?
or artist jabberwocky outfit. that weapon never appeared in any licensed media. if it were just in the store as an original, it wouldnt look out of place at all. but its linked anyway even though its a fully original design thats simply attached to an licensed adaptation.

bHVR needs to re invent their cosmetic system to make sure they can provide cosmetic experiences to us without compromise or hurdles. This will take a long time to happen tho.

Completely agree.
Customisation is one of my favourite parts of this game, and linked sets just put a damper on it.

I haven’t seen anyone use it yet, but that’s a huge shame of it doesn’t even have good physics 😕

You can spin it in store and see for yourself.

Yun-Jin has been an unfortunate victim of unnecessary linked outfits too... Look how her Seoul Socialite outfit doesn't even have any clipping issues or gaps when combined with other cosmetics. Then they released Surprise Performance as linked and surprise: that one can also be separated without much trouble.
"They do it to prevent clipping issues" isn't even valid because we already have unlinked cosmetics that cause worse clipping issues and nobody cares:
WE WANT JUSTICE 🔥

Will give it a look the next time I load up the game, thanks for letting me know!

Exactly! Back when you could break sets, I mixed and matched without any issues on Cheryl, Leon, Kate and Yun-Jin.
Sets are just one big sham.

In full agreement with everything OP said, we want to mix and match!
