SUGGESTION - A New Killer: Different Movie Genre...But She IS A KILLER - THE VELOCIRAPTOR!
Yes, from the Jurasic Park movies, this killer has over 20 human kills over the movie series! (Or Dino Crisis, that old video game!)
Powers: Basic attack: snap at survivors with her huge, teeth. Powering up for a lunge attack gives her a longer range, naturally.
Special Abillities/powers:
- Tail-Swing Attack! - Spin around and hit multiple survivors that are in range of her very long tail...sending them flying all over the place! Another benefit: By default she can smash pallets with her hindlegs very quickly...but she could use her slower Tail-Swing Attack and destroy the pallet, AND hurt anyone standing behind it, hoping to blind her! Her long range Tail-Swing Attack can also hit survivors trying to vault over pallets and windows! The Velociraptor can also hit multiple survivors who are holding flashlights with her tail while she's carrying a captured survivor in her mouth!
NOTE: To avoid killer-players from getting nauseated, this killer doesn't do 360 degree turns during the Tail-Swing Attacks but a 180 degree turn, then reverse back to original position/stance. And the Tail-Swing Attack varies inconsistantly from left to right swings and vice versa. The swing-attack is not "fixed" to avoid survivors from determining from which direction the next tail attack will come! (and again, this also helps prevent dizziness from "spinning" in the same direction!)
- Sense of Smell! (I have no better name for this abillity, sorry) - Can smell the location of any Survivor that is within her Terror Radius (excepting those Survivors in closets!) By default, the auras of smelled Survivors' will become visible for a 3 seconds. This perk can NOT be used in combination with active undetectable perks! If she is currently undetectable because of another perk, the timer to use Sense Of Smell pauses untill she's detectable again! Sense Of Smell has a cool-down of 60 seconds! Every 60 seconds, she can choose to stand still to "smell the air".
- Calling Sister! https://youtu.be/IEGQfrpnjWk?t=36 Velociraptor player "calls for backup" and a Sister Velociraptor comes walking some feet away from behind The Velociraptor and if spotted by either Velociraptors, the Sister will immediatly react by chasing after the nearest survivor...for 30 seconds! (The Default Chase Timer ALWAYS resets for 30 seconds once the chase starts!) Here's where the Velociraptor-player can decide which tactics to use: chase after one survivor together with her Sister, or as her Sister chase one survivor, she herself goes after another one! Sister Velociraptor uses her Primary Attack only: her teeth! The Sister will NOT break dropped pallets but vault over them very swiftly and continue the pursuit! If Survivors fail to hit the Sister with a dropped Pallets, it will only help the Sister catch them and hurt them! The Sister can only be stopped and will run off and vanish off the Trial Grounds if: 1 - any of The Sister gets stunned by any means: flash-light, pallet, etc, 2 - the Sister's timer runs out, 3 - any Survivor takes any damage by any means! Calling Sister has a cool-down of 3 minutes.
NOTE: The video also provides some idea of the two Velociraptors in action! With Sense Of Smell, both kids have No Chance to escape! Sense Of Smell allows the Sister Velociraptor to "see" Survivors too!! And she will start chasing!!!
ATTENTION: The backup Sister also adds an additional Terror Radius, which the Velociraptor player could use to amplify her Sense Of Smell if she chooses to do so in a situation like this one: After the Sister Velociraptor starts chasing a Survivor, the player Velociraptor decides not to follow but stay in this area and this is when the Terror Radius temporarily becomes 2 Terror Radiuses: one Terror Radius for the Sister that is chasing a survivor and the Terror Radius of the Velociraptor-Player! And being tactical, this player can now activate Sense Of Smell to see the auras of other survivors in both terror radiuses!
Tactical Survivors could play smart too, by distracting The Sister, because the Sister will ALWAYS chase after the nearest Survivor! This means she will ALWAYS switch her target to the nearest Survivor!
Add-on effects
- Shorten the Calling Sister cool-down from 3 minutes (default), 150 seconds (ash/common/brown add-on), 2 minutes (bronze/yellow) 90 seconds (silver/green) 1 minute (gold/purple) and for the ultra rare add-on: every 30 seconds she can call her Sister!
- Affects how fast the sister appears on the scene! From 3 seconds (default) after calling, down to only 1 second after calling with ultra rare add-on!
- Affects how long the Sister stays on The Trial Grounds without being in a chase! (default Timer = 30 seconds. When she starts chasing, the Chase Timer of 30 seconds begins!).
- Affects how long The Sister will stay chasing after a Survivor before her Chase Timer runs out: common add-on = 35 sec, Bronze = 40 sec, Silver = 45 sec, Gold = 50 seconds of heated chase, Ultra Rare add-on = 55 seconds of Hot Pursuit!
- Affect Tail-Whip Attack speed: the ultra rear add-on makes this attack nearly instantaneous!
- Affect the duration of the cool-down of Sense of Smell before it can be re-activated! From default 60 seconds, add-ons can speed up the cool-down in-crements of 5: common - 55 seconds cool down, Bronze - 50 seconds cool-down, Silver/green - 45 seconds, Gold/purple - every 40 seconds she can use Sense Of Smell, Ultra Rare add-on: every 35 seconds, she can use Sense Of Smell to (try) to find Survivors that are not in closets! (many scared Survivors will decide to hide in closets the moment they hear her heartbeat, that's for sure!)
- Affect how long the auras of smelled/detected Survivors (That are not hiding in closets!) remain visible! Ultra rare add-on can make auras visible from 3 seconds (default) up to 6 long seconds with ultra rare add-on!
If the Velociraptorr or her Sister doesn't see a Survivor and the sister's "backup timer" is still running, her Sister will go into "hunt/loiter mode", patrolling/loitering the area while staying close to The Velociraptor, as she helps trying to find a survivor...untill her timer runs out. The Sister will never run off across the map all alone in "hunt/loiter mode!" She's always near The main Velociraptor, unless she spots a survivor!
Perks - I'm not sure about what Perks this Killer should have! But to help both Velociraptors chase after Survivors together as one team for as long as possible I came up with these Anti-stun Defensive Perks:
- A HEX: that makes this killer immune to ALL stuns (by pallet-drops, flashlights, closets) untill this HEX Totem gets either cleansed or blessed! If hit by a dropped pallet, while this HEX is active, the Velociraptor doesn't get stunned but gets blocked from running past that pallet instead and the Velociraptor will have to break the pallet with it's hind legs. The Sister will vault over the dropped pallet immdiatly after being hit by a dropped pallet! And when carrying a Survivor, The Velociraptor won't drop a carried survivor if hit by dropped pallet, but can still break it with her tail or hind-legs, which is an abillity no other killer can do while carrying a Survivor! Flashlights WILL blind the killer but she won't be stunned and won't drop the survivor she's carrying. But the Survivor can still struggle to get free! But if this HEX gets cleansed, every stun effects revert back to normal! And stunning or blinding the Velociraptor will make her drop her victim!
- Recover quickly after being stunned (or reduce ANY stun effect!) by any means: flash-light or pallet-drop or "closet stuns" with 0.5 seconds up to 0.2 seconds with at the perk's highest rank.
- Perk that REDUCES the numbers of pallets and closets (to counter closet-stuns...and also preventing Survivors from easily hiding in closets from her powerful Scent Of Smell) by 25% at highest perk rank but reduces the Velociraptor's top speed with (perhaps) 10% at the perk's highest rank! (Speed can be adjusted during gameplay-testing!!)
New Graphical Animation Challenges: The Velociraptor carries her captured victims in her mouth and slams them onto the hook with a swift, powerful neck movement! Lots of different attacks: She uses her teeth and her tail on Survivors. For pallets, she uses her hindlegs!
Memento Mori cutscene: The Velociraptor slowly stalks her downed victim then charges and pounces with spreaded claws upon the victim and feasts on the corpse! https://youtu.be/Cr1MvzAr26E?t=70

I wouldn't be able to take a dinosaur seriously. Maybe I'm alone there, but it would just be goofy to me.

Look, All the people *running and screaming* when they come face to face with velociraptors don't do it because theese prehistoric beast are 'goofy"! I bet you wouldn't think they're "goofy" if by chance (and science allowed it!) you face one yourself! :P

You're right. I wouldn't. I'd be poo-ing myself. Still, it would feel out of place in a game like DBD.

well, after seeing that velociraptor scene, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEGQfrpnjWk&t=36s the velociraptor feels, IMO, right at home in DBD. Besides, the velociraptors has over 20 human kills in all the Jurassic Park/World series combined! The velociraptor is an honest-to-god KILLER! And IMO deserves a spot in the Dead by Daylight!
And, by the way, during the movies, many (not all) of the kills happen at night or during dark conditions!

Hey, I'd still give it a shot if it ever happened. If anybody can do it well, it's BHVR. The issue is, if anybody can do it terribly wrong, it's also BHVR.

YES YES YES YES YES I want the Dinosaur.
Even tho, Dino Crisis would be a better because you know its a action horror dinosaur franchise.
2 -
And it's also a Capcom game, so Behaviour getting the license wouldn't be an unreasonable expectation. Selling point for a Jurassic Park DLC, though, would be getting Jeff Goldblum to voice Ian Malcolm. A game with Nic Cage and Jeff Goldblum - meme potential is infinite.

the velociraptor would be out of place in dbd. its a big goofy lizard with teensy lil arms
1 -
Once again: Watch this scene - https://youtu.be/IEGQfrpnjWk?t=36
Everything that can and will make the velociraptor a scary DBD Killer is there: Hearing the heavy thumping feet and the breathing/snarling sounds it makes while you sneak around, hoping its Smell Perk is on cool-down! And this "big goofy lizard" is a killing machine that doesn't use it's "teensy lil arms" but it's huge and deadly teeth (and clawed hindlegs during memento mori) to down survivors!
1 -
none of that changes the fact that its a big goofy lizard
1 -
yeah we can put a jeep wrangler when you face the velocirraptor, and you can run over it; goofy concept

And Regina could be the Survivor counterpart! Great idea!! ^-^

I love the passion you put into describing the Velociraptor. And I'd say; why not. Something different, maybe.
At this high variety of killers, there is something appealing for anyone to pick. Even though some people might think it's goofy, others might be real Jurassic Park fan boys and party hard when a killer Dino would be released.
2 -
Objection. Clearly needs to be a stealth killer.
1 -
That was only one "stealth scene" in all the movie series. 😁
DBD has already a lot of Stealth Killers: The Wraith, The Pig, Ghostface, The Shape. I don't think making the velociraptor also a stealthy killer would be justified...

Remember, all killers need to be able to carry and hook people, how do you intend to do that with a raptor?

It’s described in the OP:
New Graphical Animation Challenges: The Velociraptor carries her captured victims in her mouth and slams them onto the hook with a swift, powerful neck movement! Lots of different attacks: She uses her teeth and her tail on Survivors. For pallets, she uses her hindlegs!
I think this could work, as Jurassic Park and especially Jurrasic World versions of the Velociraptors are genetically modified and it’s not completely unbelievable that they would do what the Entity wants them to do! Kinda like Xenomorph and Demogorgon (who are controlled by the Queen/Mindflayer which the Entity is imitating presumably) - people were also saying it wouldn’t make sense and feel out of place when it really doesn’t.

There is more than 1 Jurassic Park movie? 🤨

Not like this game is meant to be taken seriously anywhere. Soon you will have Nauthty Bear moriing Nicolas Cage on RPD next to Princess Heart Cheryl, Dwelf and Mikaela Reid. Goofiness has made this game greater.

LOL!

Here's some footage of Dino Crisis Velociraptors that show it could be a scary DBD Killer

You know what, you got me there. I can't argue.
