Has someone else noticed a new spike of cheaters/hackers?
For the past couple of months I have run into a huge amount of cheaters/hackers, kind of like it used to happen last year during the peak of hackers every day. I am not talking about subtle cheaters, I am talking about killers teleporting, one shotting and one hooking all 4 survivors right at the beginning in 10 seconds total, survivors flying around and so on. Has anybody else also noticed that? It was alright for a long time, but back again it's starting to feel a common thing and it's honestly something that if it gets as bad as it used to be last year could harm the game a lot in terms of both players and license holders trusting the game.

I'm seeing many speed hack lately and way to many "strange occurences" during the game like survivor vanishing in thin air after a corner, 3 generator popping at the exact same time and more
4 -
Don't know about subtle, but met a couple of super speed hack people a week ago.
4 -
yep that's what i mean, it's people that don't even bother to hide their cheats and anybody can tell they're cheating
2 -
It definitely increased. And even in one of the emails I got after sending a ticket was like "pls be patient, we have a lot of requests to take care of lately".
I noticed more people tp'ing around to get pallet saves or similar, people tp'ing me to the roof of a house when the killer is about to get me or speed hackers. And wall hackers are also a thing again, but it's harder to prove outside of tournaments.
It is definitely more than during the cheater pandemic a while ago.

From my experience it's getting common again, but definitely not as common as it used to be last year. Last year was just a ######### show, but maybe because I believe they added the prevention of people that get reported to not get in streamers lobbies... Could be that the reason why I don't see it as often when I watch content, and in my games it does happen often, but not AS often as last year. I really hope they are working on fixing the new vulnerabilities that are causing these many cheaters to return and they didn't think it was solved for good already.
4 -
During the pandemic I had... 2 cheaters in total. Maybe.
I was fine because they were targeting content creators and were more in the high MMR region when I was more in the mid (still am, because I don't sweat so much).
But now they seem to be just there.

Last year I literally had one every 3 games or so, during the time they could hold games hostage easier and stuff by making EGC not end until the server shut down itself in 2 hours. I think that now it's slowly growing again but I hope it does not get to the point from last year where I believe like 200,000 cheater accounts got banned. Lately I maybe meet a cheater (usually it's even the same ones with new accounts, since they promote the same cheat software websites in the chat later) maybe like once a day, or once every other day (I play average like 2 and a half hours or 3 hours a day).
1 -
There's not much we can do, but one of them is to refuse to match with players who are anonymous or have a history of bans.
May be encountered too continuously and may be a tedious task.
2 -
How am I supposed to do that as survivor if the cheater in question is the killer, sir/ma'am.
1 -
I also play daily for some hours.
The amount of cheaters you saw is insane! Then I was really lucky back then. Never had one who held the game hostage or that infamous machine gun Ghost Face.
I had one or two terminator bots, insta Gen cheaters or "subtle" speed hackers though. But that was maybe 5 in a total of a year or so.
1 -
Fortunately, due to the population of killers and survivors, there aren't that many encounters with killer cheaters, and when you do encounter one, it's very easy to spot, so I think the only thing you can do is finish the match as soon as possible and report it.
2 -
That's exactly what I do and I'm stating what is going on with cheaters again, so means can be taken and the team can work harder on again stopping cheaters before the situation from last year repeats itself. I don't know what you are trying to do coming here to say that, like what's your point? We already report and get banned, but they keep creating more accounts because vulnerabilities are not fixed.
1 -
It could be a new version of the cheating software has been released, Cheaters usually come in waves.
Get your report fingers ready, we can only help keep our game clean until bHVR can reverse engineer the cheat software and mend to holes they get through. In other words; Modern gaming as usual.

Yep, at least now with the in-game feedback it’s more satisfying to see they get banned. On steam I check their profiles sometimes after that and it shows they got a ban on record the day the penalty was issued. Now it’s to hope they truly fix the new recent vulnerabilities these people find.

Definitely not just you. Started around April initially, and then right after the end of the BBQ event in the summer it became really bad.
Several threads over the past months, just to show a few:

I legitimately don't think I've seen it as bad in the EU region. Since early August it's been lobby after lobby of cheater squads farming points off of people. The most common cases are speedhacking and lagswitching / rubberbanding.
As other people have said, movement speed server-validation is something that should have been implemented as early as possible. And we already know that a replay system is both possible and necessary at this point, no excuses after 7 years of development and the game functioning on Unreal.

Hope the team gets on the case like they did last year and they address this issue yet again before it becomes another big issue like it did before. If they leave it to grow history will repeat itself and more and more cheaters will abuse the holes and vulnerabilities in the game coding (or whatever it is and however it works).

Look at this. Just posted about hacks. I read some discussions and found this post about hacks.
agree I see them almost every game. last month it was the flying and teleporting hacks. right no its the subtle hacks.
I think the higher your so call MMR the more there is.
2 -
agree its real bad . Every match now
2 -
Lol I just got one of those Spirit Terminators again. At least it was over quickly.
2 -
it's so boring, I like playing at night but EU server is actually dead after 1-2 am, most lobbies are teleporting or lagswitching killers, speedhackers when i switch to killer, if you see anonymous mode+globe it's an epic account, just dodge
3 -
If you play on EU beware of a Huntress teleporting and finishing the match in 10 seconds! Been popular lately
2 -
That exactly happened but with Spirit. And I am on EU.

1st match ) survivor with speed hack , even with bloodlust 3 he was still faster than me
2nd match ) insta gen repair hack
3rd match ) at least TWO speed hack
4th match ) speed hack but it was such a joy to mori him, even with the hack he was such a bad player
Oh and btw , those are 4 match in a row with at least one obvious cheater

same boat as me. Most with the gen hack miss skill checks but still finish in a few sec. the speed hacks are everywhere. they try and hide it but suck at looping and run into stuff.
I found it has something to do with the distance from your red stain. if your red stain touches them they get a magic boost even with bloodlust. a trick i found out the the red stain speed hack it to run sideways and swing and turn at the same time.
I seen a new one where if you swing at them it pushes your camera up. was a no level blank ace. he would even sit still teabagging as i would swing and look up.
the only time I dont see hacks is when a TTV player is in the match.
im on the eastern shore and the hacks come out around 3pm and die out at 7pm.
I even made a new account on my ps5 and played was normal. So I think the hackers are up in the High MMR because they win almost every time.
its killers to. with ESP wall hacks. They move to the next person like a bot. had a Mayer's kill every one and teleport them to the hook before the starting camera spin stopped. get these kid of hacks 1 out of 10 games.
had a match yesterday with a Ada would do the old deadhard stumble foreword when I swing at her. Even when I got a hit I would see the hit bood and hear her moan but would take damage.
It has gotten bad after the BBQ event. died down down some but picked back up after the Alien.
I think they wont do a ban wave because they would lose half the player count. that and 90% of the hackers have paid addons and the high price skins. So why would they ban them when they are giving them money. I Played alot of games the have gotten like the right before they died F.E.A.R is one.
I really do enjoy this game even with the SWF bully squads. I got this game when it first came out on ps4. played days on end for months had to stop for a few years and came back and loved it even more.
Please BHVR do something about the hacks.

Yep, same for me yet again today. Log in for some matches and I get:
First group: barely second chase of the match and a player straight up disappears in front of me right in the open, in full view with no obstructions and running at them with a mobility Killer. Within the next 20s all gens pop and they fly out of the gate.
Second group: 2 players outrunning me in straight lines. One following my movements through solid walls while I had aura reading on them.
Third group: Same as above.
Fourth group: 2 people seemingly desync / rubberbanding and ignoring power hits directly through their models (practically walking through them).
4 matches in a row, between 5:00 - 7:00 PM CET on a Saturday afternoon.
I legitimately have not seen the game in Europe ever be in such a state, not even during the pandemic.
This has gotten really bad and needs attention ASAP.
