Should the Afterpiece Antidote's activation be 2.0 seconds?

The Antidote is an underutilized tool in Clown's kit, and I think that's partly due to the somewhat long activation time. I think buffing it from 2.5 to 2.0 seconds would make it easier to use without being able to throw it at your feet for an instant speed boost.

What do you think?

sounds like an old request that since the introduction of that mechanic. The whole mechanic behind the two bottles was centered around timing both speed boosts with within a tiny window to get a hit. the bottles have LOS restrictions, limited bottle count paired with a reload and require advance movement foresight to be used. does it really need a activation time drawback on top of the current limitations?

i rather not talk about clown to avoid more pinky finger changes...

It is a good idea to reduce the startup time of Antidote.

However, the excellent Crown still makes good use of Antidote, and if it becomes effective just before the chase, the attack will almost certainly hit the survivor when used in combination with purple bottle, so be careful not to strengthen it too much.

Nope. The slow activation time makes using yellows interesting, because you need to predict the survivor movements, and even your reaction to those. Experienced Clowns incorporated the timing into their plays - it makes sure they get the boost and not the survivors.

I could live with 2.4 seconds, I'd be grumpy with anything faster.

Maybe faster yellow activation could be an addon.

So 0,1sec is as far as you would go?

With 0,2sec faster you would scream that its way too OP? Im a bit confused from your comment

Nope, 0.2 sec is what would make me scream "damn you ###### Entity for further messing with the timings of my main after making him unable to look down, allowing to accidentally swap bottles mid-throw and removing the indicator-mist from the icons". If it's really necessary, I hope a compromise of 0.15 sec could be made - that's the reload speed buff Deathslinger got. :]

If the point is buffing Clown, I prefer any other idea I have heard including

    • one extra bottle
    • faster reload
    • allowing bottle-swap during animations
    • unicycle out of chase for map mobility
    • virtually anything else one can come up with
