Developers, Please Understand WHY These Won't Be Used

I'm not going to bash the development/balance team for these changes. That's not what I'm here for. What I'm here for is to point out that these changes (specifically after the Warden's Keys nerf) are not good for the sole fact that they don't tackle why the add-ons aren't being used in the first place. I want the balancing team to understand why these aren't good to begin with.

Jaw Smasher, Wanted Poster and BFFs aren't used because their stats are bad, it's because the effects they give are bad themselves. Nobody wants to run Deathslinger's speed add-ons because they give a marginal increase to movement speed and Deathslingers almost NEVER stay in Power, and nobody wants to run Legion's BFFs add-on because the reward is endgame only despite requiring tokens to earn.

A simple statistics change will not change how rare these add-ons will be used.

What would be better for these add-ons, if there is a future patch that can be made for them, is to systematically review and rework their effects to something more suitable for use in every match rather than niche circumstances that almost never play out.

To this end, here are my suggestions to fix these three add-ons:

  • Deathslinger Add-on: Jaw Smasher - Increases the speed of aiming down sights by 25%.
  • Deathslinger Add-on: Wanted Poster - Increases the speed when releasing aiming down sights by 25%.
  • Legion Add-on: BFFs - Earns tokens when hitting Survivors during Feral Frenzy:
    • Second chained hit: 2 tokens
    • Third chained hit: 3 tokens
    • Fourth chained hit: 4 tokens
    • Fifth chained hit: 5 tokens
  • For each token in your possession, your base movement speed while in Feral Frenzy is increased by 0.1m/s, up to a maximum of 2.0m/s.

With the aforementioned suggestions, these add-ons would get significantly more use due to having better utility than their original counterparts, and would affect aspects of the Killer's kit not touched upon by the other add-ons in their pool.

Even if these aren't implemented, at least understand that it is NOT the stat that makes these add-ons bad, it's the effect itself that makes these add-ons bad. And to that end, at least make notes to check to see if the players think that the add-on's stats are bad, or if the add-on's effect itself is, then change appropriately.

Add-ons like these can't keep remaining bad or unused.

That BFFs suggestion is super busted, and I doubt they'll want to change Slinger's ADS speed at all.

The issue with Slinger's movement speed addons was that the increase was super marginal. 0.5% is basically nothing.

those add-on used to 5% and 10%. they should revert them but they have no interesting in improving them based on the numbers selected.

the only thing i am interested in current patch notes is whether skull merchant will be able to place a drone as a survivor places pallet down to gain 1 token. I have feeling it will not work because survivor will be able to crouch through the beams but TBA I guess. i wish that wasn't a thing because I have feeling that you cannot force a claw even when someone is out in the open. you have to hit them so broken+injure aspect cannot functionally do anything.
