Skull Merchant rework is success
- Unhealthy 3-gen focused power? Gone ✔
- More chase oriented power? Yes ✔
- Decent power that is not bad to use? Yes ✔
- Less negativity towards SM since she is no longer 3-gen holding Queen? Yes ✔
I played her for few games since her rework and I have to say I am having good time. Good changes since PTB.

Positive feedback on Merchant
How delightfully refreshing

Chase oriented = passive haste + passive hindered
Decent? How? She was unsalvageable and this rework proves it. This is far from being a success, but keep pretending it's a decent design

I mean, yeah but that isn't exactly a high bar, is it?
She isn't objectively unhealthy anymore but I still think her power is rather uninteresting personally. You force the survivor into lose-lose situations to achieve somewhat similar results to Legion. Or you set up a drone and brute force your way through the loop. As long as there are more people who like her now, I am fine with it.

To me looks nice, i would share snacks with her now.
May be if they discount SM in this halloween event i buy her.
Can we confirm now we have "Checkers merchant"?

She does literally the same thing, but faster and more dynamic and without chess merchant .I think it's not bad

How you guys have been countering her 3 gen strat after the changes? I've been trying to disable drones, but it feels like it does nothing.

While this rework is a success, don't forget that she NEEDED a rework.
I can't give any positive remarks about her because BHVR needs to learn this isnt acceptable. This whole mess was their fault from the start.
So good job fixing your biggest mistake yet. Please don't ever do it again. :)

Haven't played her yet. I've played against it tho. Was decently fun. The lack of terror radius gets to you. Had a few jump scares.

I would advise you to ignore the drones located next to the generators, because while you are fixing them, they will not do anything to you (and she can not turn the slmannye drones, which is a loophole for collecting information), and periodically turn them off in places where you are going to loop the killer to make her at least spend time on their re-boring. And you can remember the places where they stand/create in your head several alternative ways to loop, with an early survivor, she is just an m1 killer with a rather situational haste and it is possible to disable the terror radius with a red glow, and slowing down..you need to be more attentive and always listen to the drone's sound coming to have an idea where it might come from. and I am extremely unwilling for you to loop it in the textures where the drones are
I hope it will help somehow

I'm glad that she isn't a 3-Gen holding nightmare anymore, but in my honest opinion...
- She isn't fun to play against. ❌
- She isn't fun to play as. ❌
- Her chase music is still a repetitive nightmare. ❌
I'm glad that people find her quite fun or passable now, but I personally still cannot find the appeal in playing against or as her.
What I wished they did instead of the drones being more chase oriented is focus more on her pockets of stealth, but it's ok, she just isn't my type of Killer haha.

Yea, that's why I said she isn't my type of Killer.

She still offers awful gameplay for survivors and there's very little reason to ever want to see her. At least she can't hold you in a match for 40 minutes lol.

I played like a dozen games with her back to back, to get a feeling of her new power and I still fully understand how she works ^^"
No, I read her power description and all and understand that scanning a survivor three times either damages them or sends them into deep wound and gives them a claw trap, but it nearly never happens because I did something skill full, but rather randomly. You can set up a drone during a chase, forcing survivors the abandon the loop or risk taking a hit, and the hinder and haste can come in handy, but I still havn't gotten into any "Skull Merchant mindset". A lot of survivors though accused me of playing a killer requiring no skill at all, I guess thats those that havn't read the patch notes?
One thing that bothers me is how rare and random you give survivors claw traps. 3/4 times when I look at my radar I see nothing, then at other times suddenly two survivors have claw traps on them. But the claw traps themselves got a rather short timer, you either need to have a survivor nearby right at that moment, to capitalize on the haste effect during the looping or run after the trapped survivors who might be just holding W.
BUT the way survivors randomly get injured surely shakes things up a bit. I also never seem to be able to predict when I will get hasted or undetectable and I find the "reverse direction" quite tedious, even though I get the feeling that this is one of the nooks and cranies that make a good Skull Merchant player.
I actually would wish that we had two direction add-ons:
1) Every x seconds the drones change the direction that their scaning beams face.
2) changing the scaning beams direction changes it for all drones on the map, so you could just do this at random and maybe catch a survivor off-guard.
EDIT: but now that I might play the SM from time to time, the big elephant in the room is this: which weapon is the best looking with the most interesting FX effect and should I buy?

I'm starting to think that survivors will never want an area-of-control killer no matter what the power is
2 -
she has perma stealth if she uses adaptive lighter and low-powered mode. your request for pocket stealth is exactly what she has now. my main gripes on her is expired batteries having a -50% claw trap negative. I wish the negative was just a bit less severe...

In the end, she has become a killer who just throws away drones and mutes heartbeats to sneak up on her opponents. I am bored.

Yeah i like the rework too. I think the changes were pretty smart. I do find her a bit underwhelming to play as but playing against her is fun, having drones everywhere and having to carefully avoid the detection rays i like.

I unlocked her, but never tried her until the changes were made because I don't play gen defense, I chase.
I'm doing well with her and having fun.
