Huge spike of "subtle" cheaters recently
Comments
-
The only time he took it wider than he needed too was when he was entering shack. Also you're right, it is impossible for him to make shack window... unless you swing too early, which is EXACTLY what you did.
Now, I went out of my way to do this because I'm sure you're going to deny swinging too early. So I recreated the exact scenario! So unless you're claiming I'm cheating as well, here's 2 clips: One of which I didn't take wide when entering shack window, and one where I did, just like in the clip you provided. Enjoy!
EDIT: Just wanted to mention it took us 5 minutes to do this, and that was mainly rerolling the map because we kept getting a gen to spawn in killer shack. These 2 clips were the only takes we did and its all we needed

You started running way too early around the corner. The guy in my clip had no idea what a checkspot was, nor did he path anywhere near as tightly around my snare and into shack. Also, I did not show my red stain.
EDIT:
This is the moment you started running in both clips.
This is the moment the guy started running in my clip. Notice he's 4-5 meters ahead of me, and not even around the corner by the time I start running, unlike how you had it in your test. I would also love for you to test the T vault.
8 -
This is just sad at this point
Have fun with your "cheaters" bud 👍
4 -
My guy, if you're gonna "test" something to prove that someone who can clearly be seen speeding up on clip isn't cheating, you should test it right. Look at my screenshots above and run your "tests" again.
EDIT: I even went ahead and broke down some screenshots for you of the distance between me and him throughout that entire encounter. Notice how I start to gain distance before the snare, lose some, gain some at the entrance of shack, then lose some again. Yes, I could have hit him if I waited a split second more, but a legit player would have gotten hit there, MFT or not.
9 -
Yes, but you can figure them out. Hyperfocus doesnt have that option.
1 -
Thank you so much for making this. All these people claiming “blatant cheating” and I’m over here like, “ummmm, he definitely swung early causing him to lose that chase, not speed hacks.”
It doesn’t even LOOK like he’s moving any faster than 103. I’m just not seeing cheats here, only a mistimed lunge. 🤷🏻♂️

How is this event more toxic and unplayable? Im having a blast so far.
Also, i dont know for how long youve been around but. There was a cheater pandemic not too long ago.
It got so bad, that many content creators had to make videos about the problem. BHVR then stepped forward and banned a TON of them. They even provided numbers on how many got banned. Seems like caring to me.
Please think about what you are saying. BHVR wants you to play the game. Without players, the game would die. If they really didnt care about the players and just let cheaters have their way, the game would probably be dead by now.
3 -
You've evidently missed the screenshots that show the gap between where he started running and where Shroompy started running. That's a good 2-3m gap that easily would have hit way before he ever got close to the window.
9 -
I can run the test for 48 hours straight and get it as accurate as possible but it doesnt matter, youre going to point out any inaccuracies no matter how minor they are
This still gives a rough idea of the scenario provided, major one being walking around the snare. The main reason you werent able to catch them is simply because you swung too early, plain and simple
4 -
Or, better yet, you can run the test without giving yourself a 1-2 second headstart, and you'll get the results that are expected. You're not the only one with 6k hours. I don't know why this is a personal vendetta for you. Were you perchance the Ace in that clip? You seem to be taking this very personally. All I said was you started running too early, and I provided screenshot proof.
9 -
The test I did were suffice enough and I got the results I expected, not the ones you wanted. You can keep seeking approval, just wont be from me.
Good luck out there

Regarding the video itself, the killer swung way too early. Literally no reason to swing at that point. Just wait until they're animation locked on the vault. They have nowhere to go at the distance they were at. No benefit to swinging early.
Does MFT suck in terms of the uncertainty it brings to the game? Of course. But this looks clean.

Gotta disagree with this test. It's close, but you're off in a few places.
1 is where Freddy's trap is. OP's trap has a decent gap, almost a foot, between it and shack. Your trap is touching shack. That's more than enough to change an outcome.
2 is the starting points of Killer and Survivor. OP already covered this but Im gonna say it again. You can just see Ace turning as Freddy came out the door and Freddy was well outside the door passing the door frame by the time Ace rounded the corner. You started turning and was past the corner just as your Freddy fully exited the door. You ran half a second too soon in other words.
2 -A, not 100% on this. But I think OP's Ace clipped the wall. Hard to see really. Honestly think he might have though considering it took a full second to round that corner and it does look as if Ace was touching the wall with his shoulder just like how your shoulder touched the wall when you clipped it yourself. It could explain why both videos look to have different timings.
3, OP's lunge might have failed to connect where a the lunge triggered an attack by detecting a Survivor, but the Survivor left the hitbox before that attack could come out. Maybe thanks to the seemingly sped up window vault as the attack came out the moment Ace vaulted as seen in his flashlight vanishing.
3-A. Looked at both videos at .25 speed and found a difference between the 2 vaults. In both videos the flashlights vanish roughly at the same time, before reaching the hay bale. But OP's Ace's flashlight came back MID VAULT when his hand was still touching the window! Your flashlight didn't come back till after the ENTIRE vault's animation. That vault is fishy to say the least and ended way too quick as seen by the animation jittering and the flashlight spawning.
You did a nice test. But #1 can't be ignored and #2-A is something to account for as well. #3 looks off with Ace skipping his animation and #3-A, simply put, is fishy as f***.
Add in OP's other video of the LT wall and that Ace is highly suspect in my opinion.

Since everyone loves referring to Nightlight, Hyperfocus has a 1.3% pickrate (which is less than it was a few months ago, when it was 1.7%) so I don't think people are using it to cover cheats anyway.
0 -
Stop making sense, you're contradicting the narrative. Subtle cheating doesn't exist, you just need to Git Gud™. Watch my video and trust my words, I have no reason to lie
- signed Not The Ace in the OP clip
5 -
They hit a fast vault and you swung too early by the looks of it.
Also I've yet to against a single Freddy who has normal hits. You could just report them for possibly cheating and call it a day :)
0 -
What do you mean your flashlight doesn't spawn in your hand 20% through your vault?
3 -
Never heard of Dramaturgey?

It was obviously speedhacking, or to be more precise lagswitching.
I call them "corner drifters", as very subtle ones only does it around corners so they get a boost when they think you are not looking, and I see them pretty often in my games. Like this Ada that I was not so sure she was lagswitching until she even broke the lag compensation and the animations:
Then there is the ones like in your video and this one, the not as subtle ones that does it everytime they think they are going to get hit with the hope you don't notice as you lunge:
And there is the ones that don't give a damn like the one @ButterFlee13 posted or this one I got by chance doing the Dwight challenge (even tho, mine was also trying to be subtle):
And before someone said it, it was impossible for him to have Background Player (ironic), and I'm sure he was coming from another gen that just poped up at the other side of the map.
And about the ones that appear to be using MfT + Hope when it is not even the EGC or don't even have the perks equipped, yes, I also have being noticing those and again, in a lot of games.
2 -
I don't even think we're speaking the same language here.
3 -
When did refer to nightlight???
0 -
Not you specifically, I said the community likes to use it as a reference point so I will too for the sake of this discussion. But my point was that Hyperfocus isn't a commonly used perk, so I don't think it's safe to conclude that hackers are using it as a cover for their cheats.
0 -
I dislike nightlight. Its not a reliable source of information:
I agree, that Hyperfocus isnt used that often, but that doesnt make the perk less dangerous / problematic. Its impossible to differentiate a hacker from a legit player that uses Hyperfocus.
0 -
I saw that vid as well. Sometimes I do feel i see suspicious things from killers, like knowing where to go immediately, but I dunno if it's just game sense.
Sometimes I also got a very weird game vs Hillbilly, where me and Cage were healing and then he just came from behind us but had no terror radius and I thought he had Tinkerer, but actually didn't. I wish I'd saved that game to analyze it and see if he had some specific Add-on.
0 -
I agree re Nightlight, but the community at large seems to feel it's accurate enough so I've given up arguing the point.
I personally don't think that hackers should play any role in determining whether a perk is healthy or not. I couldn't imagine calling killer aura perks, for example, problematic because hackers like to use them to cover wall hacks.
If BHVR were to ever take hackers into account when making decisions around perks, you can bet killer perks would also be on the chopping block. There was a killer gen hack last time (possibly still around, it enabled them to basically set their own regression %) that many used gen regression perks to cover up. Does that make Pain Res, Pop, Jolt, etc, unhealthy for the game? The majority of the community do the right thing, and the game shouldn't be changed to accommodate the bad behaviour of a minority.
2 -
Maybe if survivors had a perk that showed regressed gens' progress (like maybe if they reworked Rookie Spirit that is mostly useless atm), perhaps we'd have an easier time detecting those hacks.
0 -
Just to confirm OP @dbdthegame did the Ace have Self-Care by chance?
0 -
I had a survivor match on Saturday evening where we all loaded in and then instantly went on the basement hook and died.
It was a hacking Billy too which was really sad. I hardly ever get Billys.
0 -
Not sure and I already deleted the video. Only perk I remember is MFT.
0 -
And just for fun, to all the people that don't stop saying "It was MfT", since when MfT give you a sudden boost of speed mid chase?
That people are unable to see that obvious change of speed there is very concerning...
7 -
There are several issues with this, mostly that you play the corner way shorter than the Ace in the clip. If you go through slowed down just a bit you can clearly see it. Its not about if its actually possible with perfect pathing, that is completely irrelevant and redundant, its if its possible with the pathing the Ace took, and if you slow down the clip its a very clear no.
0 -
Damn, that's a shame. Self-Care is often a common tell for finding a cheater, especially if they forget Sloppy is in play, as they just pretend to be 99%'d. Pretty much their perk load-out is designed to gaslight the Killer into thinking it was just the perks all along.
1 -
I reported a survivor telling he was speed-hacking, with video and comments about the blood spacing : nothing happened to him. (I keep the Steam ID of cheaters)
2 -
Well, I have got 4 notifications already in the last weeks. They take their sweet time to do something after you made the ticket, however.
Also, don't use the chat tool to send the video, I have notice that when you open the ticket that way it doesn't appear to attach the video. Open the ticket manually.
1 -
I use the ticketing system and a link to a youtube video. Then I wait the ticket to be solved to see what they've done.
They've banned some people, but also not banned teleporters caught on video nor that Russian streamer whose blood stains were suddenly spaced more after a corner and that I could never catch.
I don't think I'll bother reporting anymore. Too much work for too little result.
2 -
Im having alot of auto dead hards, 4 procents etc.
But the worst atm is the speedhacking. i play with play with your food stack(3) with bloodlust and still i cannot catch up to players. Ofcourse they run MFT, but its such a bullshit perk and extremly easy to cheat with
2 -
Look at the user name... isn't that a BOT you're chasing?
0 -
Something something anonymous mode isn't used to enable cheating without consequence something something
3 -
Of course it is a bot, it was substituting the 5º survivor, hence the "05" and not having the "BOT" tag beside his name... wait...
0 -
I think console players need an option to enable crossplay just with other console players, the PC hacks are crazy .
2 -
Definitely been seeing subtle little speed boosts, noise reductions, and flashlight blinds recently. They think they're sneaky with it but you can chalk it up to MFT until the endgame when you see no MFT.
3 -
If that were me with MFT and the same pathing, I'd be dead.
3 -
"This person is cheating and here is why:.."
"Nu uh I tested it"
"Your test isn't accurate and proves that the person was cheating"
"lol bye"
Most intellectual forum discussion.

Some gas on the fire.
Shroompy's pathing is better than the Ace and the killer is further back. (clear by looking at the blood pool to the killer's position yet the killer in Shroompy's was close to getting that hit.🤔)
OP did swing early but I don't think that alone discounts the claim. The OP's Ace started the fast vault much sooner than Shroompy despite being nearly the same position. Could be lag being the survivor had over 100ms ping but could also be subtle cheatery.
2 -
You do know that match replay with % of speeds above players would solve 7 years of hacking problems. 7 years to implent match replay.7 years.....
4 -
To all saying my tests weren't accurate enough, upon rewatching it just once, I can agree there's quite a few inaccuracies
Upon looking back at my posts on this thread as well I was just being a douche. Sorry to everyone, but more specifically to @dbdthegame
6 -
Props for owning up to it 👍️
5 -
Another example of an obvious case of whatever cheat is around there right now.
3 -
I see about 1 suspect player per ten games now. Its very annoying.
I wasn't playing the killer in the clip below, but I watched from next to the monitor.
This started late into the match, when the killer was pressuring Mikela, she warped when down, caused a lag spike for a second or two, and then once picked up, literally locked the killer's "W" key.
Sounds totally unbelievable, but the killer could not carry her forward to the hook, she was finally placed on the hook by strafing, a total of 7 minutes after the clip below started.
2 -
The only case when you see more a killer cheating, is when a nurse are faster than a survivor without blink, and without his two add-on or Play with your Food
