Make The Void a Permanent addition to the Game.

I don't want it to keep the same purpose, of bringing the haunt into the map, but I think the void is the perfect addition to the game to help the survivor/killer imbalance AND shake up the games a little bit in the same sweep.

The void is a great way to give those non mobile killers a reasonable way to traverse across the map, meaning more diverse killer builds so more fun for everyone, and slows down the game just a bit, so again, less gen slow down perks on killers and more interaction between killer and survivor for more exciting games. I'd change a few things about the void:

-make it so that the survivors know when a killer enters the void, maybe have the portal change color when the killer is coming out so they have a chance to leave a gen if the killer is coming to use pop or something, also opens up mind games with perks like dead lock.

-make the survivors need to pull multiple levers or something instead of the haunt, maybe add a lever every time a gen is completed so the survivors can choose when they want to pull them, also slightly hindering gen rush strats, while adding more mind games on the survivors side, awarding them time to do gens if they can trick the killer into taking the portal

The loops themselves are strong which I think is fine if the void stays this small, but maybe allowing killer powers in exchange for better loops and more space is smart. I'm not sure exactly how to balance this but I really hope this is bhvr testing the waters with a secondary survivor goal/way to help killers weaknesses

    Maybe we could even use those event pallets that dissappear if you miss a stun in the void, like phantom pallets.

    DBD events are goated i swear. Always crazy cool mechanic.

    The portals, Party pallets, & The instant break anti loop from the anniversary 7 event. I would love to see some this stuff refine and put in the main game.

    The portals are too close together imo to really be a good means of map travel. Sometimes you get lucky and they're a bit more spaced out, but in general I find I'm not really too far from where I started out.

    Abusing them how?

    If you mean leaving chase and going to the void, it isn't an instant port in and if you hit them the broken status tells you were they went. The void isn't some magical place where survivors can't be hit. There is no pallets and 2 hooks.

    I've enjoyed using the void to do a sneaky escape and pop up somewhere else on the map, so I'd be happy for it to stay.

    I don't think it should be made part of the base game. It's a special event and having it around all the time would ruin what makes it interesting.

    Although I would love a killer power based on the mechanic of going in and out of a special area like the void. It's what I initially hoped Demogorgon's power would be.

    I haven't played the event much, but I feel like the only blaring obvious one is Nurse. Since killers can't use powers in the void, she simply can't catch up.

    True, but there is no gens to do in the void and no way to heal in the void. If they want to hide in the void and not help the team so be it.

    Have to come out eventually, and she can still blink and pick them off when they are out and injured/trying to heal.

    fair enough! Survivors just camp portals the whole event so i can see why killers don't like the idea of incorporating them permanently. I really feel like they got something here tho. Just have to add some restrictions for survivors and way better benefits for killers.

    The portals heavily stress the time difference between the two sides. The killer just has no time to waste to go into the void and hang out, and even when they know 100% that a survivor is there, due to the tight nature of all the actions, 9/10 its a loss for the killer.

    At the very least, survivors portal interactions should be +0,5s, better maybe even +1.0s, the timing is so tight that if the survivor brakes sight for even the smallest amount, they can weave in and out of the void without restraint or punishment and the killer has no chance to ever catch them. This problem is just exasperated by the endurance given by the Haunts.

    In the same vein, Haunts should be freed by the killer by a single swipe of their weapons and not a lengthy animation, like the survivors

    They should use those limited time events as custom game modes, that would be great, and I don't think people would complain much about balance there, because you can just not play the custom mode... But I Don't think it is a good idea to keep them... The argument that it helps low mobility killers is not that good, because you can just buff those killers, if survivors can use them as well then the mobility does not really mean anything. Also depending on where they spawn you cannot see anything through (door of shack) and it is a 50 50 if the survivor continued looping or went in, which is just so annoying, also inside the void would be really problematic, because of how strong the windows are, you should basically never follow because winning the chase in there is really rough.

    So I summon:

    - to solve bad mobility of killers, buff them with mobility, the void adds more problems there

    - keep limited time events as custom game modes so people can play them (might even attract new players, if the mode is good enough... And allow community custom modes because why not)

    - if void stays (in whatever form) : tune down how strong the tiles in the void are and make the portal entrances see through to get rid of that horrible 50 50

    cought cought void is literally already survivor sided and you want that on all the maps?

    yaaay lets make already bad maps into heaven for killers , we love endurance and haste that only take 4 seconds to gain as survivor and it last 15 seconds or more to end NOT TO MENTION THAT STACKS WITH MFT AND HOPE BTW.

    Maybe for a custom game mode, but I think they should keep things special for events.


    The killers complaining are funny. I'm sorry you guys weren't having fun with the void. I personally enjoyed hitting someone and then using the speed boost to get into the void, just for me to enter via a different portal and surprise them because they expected me to come through the same one. Also got plenty of downs from survs trying to enter and exit void. Yes there are some survs that fake the void to throw you off, that's the fun of it. I swear some of y'all want your matches to last 2 mins with 0 resistance 😂

    the event is survivor sided. period. you can't really blame people for not liking it to a degree they have to wait until it's over to play the game. personally i don't mind it that much, i just enjoy extra bloodpoints.

    Yah guys, I just meant.the void itself as a secondary win condition,.it would need to be rebalanced. Bringing in the void as is would be hell for.killers.

    I would like this for Freddy. Every survivor asleep get ported into a killer favored dreamworld. Barely playing Freddy and I don't like him but this would fit, I think.

    Im already sick of watching survivors mid chase enter a portal in 2 seconds and the loud portal aoe sounds don't help either

    It’s a good idea to introduce portal mechanics on a permanent basis, but the only thing you need to do is spread the portals around the map and not place them like a triangle in the corner of the map.
