hex ruin perk didn't deserve this
the nerf to hex ruin was absolutely unnecessary. if they actually removed the hex condition then it would make more sense but now? what the hell

some things in this game will never make sense

It was necessary to shift the meta but I agree. What makes me scratch my head is they never bother to buff it for longer than a year.

I have to be honest with you that shaking the meta kind of thing sucked all the fun out of dbd

Wow killers really can't cope with the idea of having one Gen regression perk being taken down a reasonable notch from a must pick perk to a perk you need to build around.
When there's a sea of other Gen regression perks there is to stack together on their blights and weskers.
It was a need that needed to happen.

yeah you're right about that. It's crazy how bhvr are now trying to slowly shift the meta back to what it once was.

I play both sides and lately more survivor. I miss old ruin because it was a really interesting perk. The only time I ever thought it was broken was when it was the swamp, tinkerer wasn't nerfed, and we really couldn't find the totem and the randos didn't split up. It's not like you could hit gens with ruin, basically you just had to find the hex or split up. It's a shame to see a once beloved perk become totally useless imo.

It does make total sense when you remember what the patch was for and why Ruin was nerfed as an extension of that, but it was definitely pretty harsh.
Though again, if you want to run it every game after the nerf, it'd have been a failure of a change. Something to remember even if we look towards buffing it again now, imo.

Yes but nobody runs ruin because other regression perks are simply just so much better. It is not even a build around thing, the perk is just worse than other perks. That is why people complain.

Considering how quickly totems can be taken down, it makes no sense for any hex perk to be pretty much next to worthless. Base regression (100%) = One charge lost on a gen every four seconds (pretty much worthless). The previous version of Ruin was 200% of base regression which means that one charge was lost every two seconds, which was completely fine for a hex perk.
The nerf did not actually need to happen at all, it was honestly just a thoughtless maneuver to please survivors. There is no "sea of gen regression perks," the only truly useful combo atm is pain resonance/pop goes the weasel.
