Bug Tech

I'm one for being able to have endless opportunities to do stuff. It's what makes a good game. Take that away and you're left with a dull repetitive mess of a game that you'll not want to play any more of. As long as both sides are able to do the exact same thing when it comes to a loop, it's great.
1 -
That's the point. The killer was at a huge loss there.

Imagine if killers (or at least as a power for one killer) could fast vault through a window with the same prerequisite of needing to have run for a split second. Like you need to be facing forward for enough time to do it and queue up for the vault like they do.
0 -
That would fundamentally break the chase gameplay if every killer could do that. As a power, it would lead to very boring situations (Legion).
Killers vault slower. That's fine. The problem was, that survivors could create near-infinite loops at certain structures if they drop and immediately vault.
0 -
Well of course we shouldn't have infinites. That's why I suggested the other idea of taking horizontal momentum into account (creating the tile chain of a hill into a fast vault to a four lane.

You can be forced out of the pallet breaking animation and into the pick up how ca you tell me that is not a bug?
1 -
I'm pretty sure I'm not https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lC1T2x0jqCQ

FOV teching is the sole reason I back up when the survivor tries to spin to make sure I dont whiff or get autoaimed.

Here is another so called tech, so survivors clipping through a wall is not a bug it's tech right? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQXJGMVaIFU

Or starting to mend / self care when you want to unhook. Easily done with Legion interrupting an unhook with his frenzy. When the hit survivor is not cautious and does not move a tiny bit for the unhook prompt to appear, they will actually start mending. When the Legion player than cancels the power imidiately while the rescuer start mending, they will down them before the unhook goes through.

Its just the rule of the game. There is 1 candy, either you, or me, eat the candy. It is coded like that, and meant to be played like that.
Kicking animation trumps Any mean Necessary, which Kicking cancel AMN. If Kicking trumps vaulting, then vaulting denies kicking would be a bug. However, Devs dont code kicking trumps vaulting. Perhaps because vaulting animation be canceled mid pallet would be weird.
Though, as other said, you can simply wait half a sec and hit/down the CJ tech user. They risk taking hit, or even free hook, success flashlight save is their reward.
Same to killer window vault passing, you can notice if there are scratch marks, if not, survivor doesnt running. Its not un-counterable or give survivor any benefit.

Interesting point.
1 -
I am calling them what they are.

Although to be fair on the other end i have seen survivors want to push allowing you to change your keybinds for specific interactions so they can vault while chained by pinhead for instance because of the things being the same button. Unhooking instead of mending (again same button) not being vacuumed into a locker when vaulting (ect). These are also cases where thats just how the game is. Removing pinheads chains are a primary action same as vaulting. So you can't have it both ways same as a killer trying to pick up vs kicking the pallet. So in the case that ever gets fixed i think itd be fair to make kicking and pickup different buttons as well.

I can’t tell if this is a dig at me or not! xD
0 -
It is not. I just find it striking how a blight pfp can ignore blight's hugtech, when another user has based their name on it.
unless the dig was in "regular forum user"
1 -
Ahh ok. I don’t ignore it, but I will defend it. Lol
I consider it a part of basekit and it’s time the devs announce that. :P
But that’s all.. I don’t really know what this thread is about.

Adding more keys for more actions would solve (remove) CJ tech yes. It would also solve locker/window interaction, free hooks happen with survivors jump into locker.
Though, the game would be less fun to watch, since those are unexpected scenarios.

I mean my main comparison also was with pinhead and legion mostly. Because survivors get pretty ticked (understandably so) when they can't vault a pallet because their chained giving pinhead a free down because their vault prompt gets blocked by removing chains. Same with trying to unhook while needing to mend. You might have gotten that trade. But the prompt denied you and got the free down as well. Its funny because i know when its happening as pinhead because the survivors hugging the pallet trying to vault but they are just stuck there as i walk up and hit them 😅. Sure its maybe funny for me but i doubt its fun for them ofc. Hell you even see it on self care (for the few people that run it) they run up to unhook and just start healing lol. I feel the lack of button mapping is dated imo. But if we think it makes things more interesting. I guess. Side note. Did they ever fix recovery and jump into hatch being the same button? Because i still see survivors freaking out when i give them hatch as they spin around it trying to go in.

Can we stop calling hug tech a bug? Its as much a bug as a cj tech. They arent mistakes in the code or weird side effects of completely unrelated code. They are clever uses of existing game mechanics and the way their programmed. A cj tech just uses the fact that you cant break a pallet while its being vaulted to force a pickup. A hug tech just uses the fact that blights collision is programmed off LOS as well to slide off objects. I'd say hug tech is far more intended than cj techs are, considering they at least knowingly programmed for blight to have some slide.
side note: they just removed drop tech, unfair techs do get removed.

What is this post? There are tons of bugs on most of the killers that haven't been fixed. Some of them can be abused by killers, some can be abused by survivors.
Example A. When the Knight finishes drawing his patrol path with his green orb, for about half a second the Knight's model replaces the green orb then is relocated to his original location. During this half second, the Knight can be stunned by pallets and the steam vents in the Alien map. After he's stunned, he's teleported back to his original location. It's obviously a bug and it's annoying.
Example B. Blight can disable collision with the object he's currently colliding with by looking up and then colliding with that object once, after which they can slide against that object without colliding with it, even though they should. Some players have called it "Hug Tech" but in 2021 (lol) a member of the DBD team confirmed that it was a bug and announced a fix was being worked on.
The bugs have existed since the killers were created and have not been fixed. This is a "But wait there's more!" moment, because I've personally reported many other bugs just like these and only a very small handful have actually been fixed. It's sad. It's one of the reasons why I've lost so much trust in Behavior.
Seeing a post like this is just... confusing. It's such a departure from reality. It makes me question your logic and makes me wonder if you are just trolling.

Hug tech was literally acknowledged by the developers to be a bug
it is a side effect of the way the developers programmed blight that was not intended and produces results opposite to what is expected, it is by definition a bug
0 -
Hug tech was confirmed by the DBD team to be a bug. We are not going to stop calling it a bug, because it is a confirmed bug by the developers. Please stop abusing a known bug. Thanks.
0 -
That was how many years ago? If they actually intended to remove it I hardly think they'd wait this long.
1 -
Then by that definition cj techs are also bugs. It is intended for vaulted pallets to be unbreakable, however its not intended to be used to force a pickup over a break for a save. It is intended for blights LOS to affect his collision, but unintended to be able to look down and slide.
0 -
That is not entirely true. A mechanic of sliding via blight’s camera angle was entirely intended.
0 -
not really. Although they certainly didn't design pallet interactions with that in mind there's nothing in the code happening that is contrary to design or wrong. It is intended that when you are standing at a pallet and there is a survivor underneath you, the game will prioritize the pallet prompt if it can. It is also intended that you will lose this prompt if the survivor vaults the pallet before you begin the breaking action. And it is also intended (although very stupid, same on controller when so many buttons are free) that these actions are both mapped to the same keybind, and AFAIK can't be changed.
Survivors blocking the killer from interacting with an object by interacting with it themselves is intended, even if the result of getting a save (locker, pallet) was not intended, it is not a side effect of bugs in the code but players using a mechanic in a clever way (tech)
the unintended part is the hug tech

Solo survivor win streak: 38
SWF win streak: 208
Blight win streak: 1000+
Very healthy and totally ballanced.
The typical killer main entitelment, completly ignoring all the facts and moaning why not every game is an easy 4K. Sorry, but at this point those statements are just absurd.
2 -
Blight is 1 out of 30 killers, SWFs dumpster any low mobility killer so yeah having one or two killers that counter that is balance.
0 -
You think 1000 wins in a row is ballanced? When solo streak is less then 40 and the best team in the world is at 208?
Interesting!
1 -
Have you actually seen any of the gameplay from that “streak”?
If you watch the way he plays, it’s very unimpressive. I wouldn’t even call it a “blight” streak.
0 -
Are all the blight players getting 1000 win steak every game? No it's just one guy and that dude is no1 player in the world so yeah balanced.
0 -
Hit me up when a trapper get 1000 win streak and I'll take everything back.
0 -
And no#1 survivor player in the world is getting only lousy 38 escapes. And number #1 survivor team in the world is only getting 208 escapes. Compared to number#1 Blight/Nurse with over 1000.
And there are other Blight players with close to 1000 wins.
0 -
I actually have and he is not using Hug Techs a lot, so i guess you refere to that. The only thing we learn from that is that Techs are not needed for Blight to dominate.
1 -
Yeah it's 2 killers out of 30 and not everyone plays nurse and blight I go against these two 3 or 4 times a week it's not like you seem them every match. Are there 1000 win steak on the low tier killers? Ofc not cuz they are weak and it's not possible. So take a chill pill and relax.
0 -
I assume you realised your logic is out of the window - with the lack of arguments.
I am currently at above 30 wins in a row with Trapper. Who knows, maybe in a few years i come back to you 😘
0 -
I dont know all streaks of course, but even the absolut bottom tier killer have high win streaks. Much higher then solo survivor and probably higher then the best Team. Even Pig, for many one if not the worst has high win streaks.
The point is: You claim Nurse and Blight are healthy for the game, when they are absolutly not. Dont get me wrong, Blight is one of my favourite killers, but even i understand that overpowered =/= healthy. You can clearly deal with strong team with any killer.
2 -
No, I am referring to the hard slugging and tunneling at 5 gens ever single match, combined with full slowdown. A massive percentage of those games, survivors either DC’d or gave up at 5 gens.
0 -
You can't possibly think a lingering hitbox is a bug? When the devs have stated themselves that the "Hitbox moves with the nemesis" meaning it lingers and can be active for a while which is the case with xeno as its modified nemesis code to actually stop when it hits something.
0 -
Have u ever seen how this guy plays? He tunnels and camp every game if you play dirty ofc you win on killer. News flash not every killer player tunnels at 5 gens some of them understand that this is a video game and not play every match like their life depends on it.
0 -
But those who go for streaks might play dirty and/or very effective. Both Survivor and Killer.
Your argument only underlines that if the killer wants to, he is always in charge and survivors cant deal with that. Imagine every player would play dirty. Winrate for killers go straight up to 90% 😁
Sidenote: There are other Nurse/Blight players who have hundreds of wins without playing extremly dirty.
Anyway, Blight&Nurse are to powerful and this is a pretty standard argument with low amount of poeple disagree. If you want to believe those killers are ballanced, thats up to you, but not reality. Thank you.
Kind regards

Like I play 50/50 survivor and killer, but in what universe is CJ a bug? Obviously if a survivor vaults a pallet and you press space bar and the downed survivor is below you will pick up, like what else do you expect? Break the pallet and break the survivor in half?
like CJ is LITERALLY ON YOU.

Now that the locker bug is back, I wonder if people consider it to be "skill expression."

There was a forum post this summer about killer win streaks, you can find that information here:
Top streaks being blight, twins, nurse, and clown. Your trapper request is at 148 ish. And this list was posted during the MfT meta.
I'm not sure that 'have you seen how they play' is the gotcha you seem to think it is here either. The two primary factors here are player skill and play style. You can choose not to play a certain way, but that doesn't mean everyone will do that. That's not the game's fault you aren't playing to win, especially if there's a play style that is essentially unbeatable in the right hands (i.e. tunneling like crazy).
That seems to indicate that either that strategy is too strong, or that character is, or possibly both. Making it easier to 4k like you seem to be pushing for is only buffing these strategies, when all actual metrics are saying that something is actually overtuned here.

The only reason they would announce that they are working a fix, but then not release that fix is because they lack the technical knowledge of how to fix it.
0 -
You do realize eurobend is just turning right?
0 -
So, don't press "break" button and just wait for survivor to vault to get free hit
and if the pallet kicking animation is already started, it can't be canceled by survivor vaulting (survivor unable to interact with the pallet that killer is now breaking, like killer can't interact with the pallet that survivor is vaulting). Maybe outside of some microsecond moments (your animation JUST started, but got canceled), but that's a ping issue
0 -
Are you 100% sure about that? The CJ tech is literally the killed being forced out of the pallet break animation even if the break animation started.
