Friends Til The End is the new MFT

This OP perk is to survivors what MFT was to killers, an annoying perk that will inevitably be nerfed in 6 month. This game really is turning into pay to win. Ridiculous.

Every match, irrespective of the killer, they run it and completely wipe the lobby. It's just a game of rescuing people from hooks.

The worst part is the killers using it, that paid for it, are going to get it taken away. I hate the perk, but this business model, I hate much more 😒

10 seconds of aura of an exposed survivor (12 if using LP) is enough for all the killers I'm facing.

A perk that literally shows your aura and makes you a one hit while someone is already on the hook?

Come on, do you see this being around in 6 months?

If I had told you this would be a perk 6 months ago, would you have believed me?

The Wraiths that I go against love this perk more than Chucky.

I hide in a locker and also use Distortion. I can avoid it usually but a SoloQ group cannot.

If you're new to this game, you don't even know what terms like 'Exposed' mean, much less that hiding in a locker blocks your aura.

I play in SoloQ, so I have two choices: wait for Hatch or max out my Altruism points.

    I know what you mean.

New and normal players struggle at the moment with a lot of things the good or top players can´t imagine anymore.

7,4% have the reach Iri 1 as Surv Trophy on Steam and 4,9% the reach Iri 1 as Killer Trophy.

Here in the forum i remember the "reaching Iri 1 is easy" discussions... no it is not. And not many playes have reached it ever.

Same with the so called weak killers. In my games i have been destroyed by a weak killer quite often.

Never really have had a problem with this perk so far, and haven't gotten a lot of value out of it either. 20 seconds just seems to short.

I wouldn't mind swapping out the exposed effect for a different effect though, never been a fan of exposed.

And after a survivor realizes this perk is in the game, and they are the obsession, they can just step into a locker whenever the killer is carrying a survivor, to block the aura reading. And then they stay in the locker until half of the exposed meter is done (that's when the aura reading stops). And I don't care if that survivor "isn't repairing generators" when they're in the locker, because it totally messes up this perk's chase value when the killer gets zero aura reading on the obsession.

old MFT - Guaranteed chase extension + braindead clutch potential

Friends til the end - A short exposed with equally short aura after a hook.

If their crossmap you arent getting the down nd all you've got is info on one survivor. If they arent crossmap, one pallet drop gives enough time to wait the exposed. It only works with stealth because of that, probably A-tier on wraith but c on everyone else.

FttE really only has significant value for killers with high mobility. So like Blight, Wraith, Onryo, Dredge, etc. For most killers it has little utility.

MFT was guaranteed value for anyone who takes a hit, for as long as they were injured. This is a bad comp.

That said, on killers with great mobility, it can be really oppressive. I remember one game against a really skilled Dredge who used it as part of a nasty build and it was one of the worst beatdowns I've personally been a part of.

Just reduce the aura reading to 7 seconds and it’s fine

Distortion plus calm spirit kills all killer tracking outside of scratch marks

I run at least Distortion and have zero issues

That being said, you're right. They're gonna get their money out of the new killer before they swing around to nerfs

Of course. I feel for killers who will grow to depend on it.

what is annoying about it? literally requires a killer to hook someone and you can avoid the interrup action from a gen by waiting for the killer to hook their victim and even if you get exposed , NOW WHAT? the killer has to chase you otherwise they get 0 value and NO aura reading on you isnt that powerful as you think , also remenber is just 20 seconds of expose , dude even someone without looping skills can pre - drop and pre - run holding W to prevent getting 1 shot.

ALSO ONLY WORKS ON BASIC ATTACKS SO THE S TIER KILLERS ONLY GET AURA READING VALUE TECHNICALLY.

now what am i missing there? i dont see the issue , the perk is fine IMO , wish i can say the same about ultimate weapon.

that perks is just horrible for solo players.

Where are you getting killers running this perk? I have literally never seen the killer running it.

  • bjorksnas

in terms of effect the perks are probably on part but in terms of effort to get the effect friends til the end is more balanced out by its conditions to activate its effect

Few people achieving it doesnt make it not easy, most people prob dont have the time it dedicates to do it, but reaching iri is just a manner of time, there is no difficulty in it.

As for weak killers, the fact a killer is weak doesn't mean bad players cant give them a free 4k from time to time. I have beaten people with trapper on springwood, no sentient team would let that happen...ever.

I don't find it to be problematic! I've ran distortion since I started playing, and the exposed status is so short.

Distortion never leaves my build, sometimes it's a wasted perk slot but I don't mind 🙂

You can also hop in a locker to counter it!

i only seen a few none chucky killers use it but Exposed don't last long and survivors easily can hide they aura.

Run away from the killer and pre-position at a decent pallet. Pre-drop it. You're halfway there at that point. When they run around the pallet, you can literally just hold W away from it if it's safe, and the killer will take another 10+ seconds to catch up to you. Most people wait way too long to run from the killer. "Pre-running" is just running on time, but people are used to really suboptimal distance management.

  • Xernoton
    Xernoton Member Posts: 5,842

The aura reading is pretty nutty but other than it's really not that strong. You get exposed, so you know that the killer has it and you also know that they are likely coming for you. Now all you need to do is to be careful for the next few seconds and run when you hear the TR. This lets you maintain distance and makes it pretty much impossible for most killers to hit you before the exposed effect is gone. Against the killers that can actually catch up, you'll only need to buy a few more seconds for yourself and you should be fine.

It's kind of the opposite of MFT. MFT really only saw its value amongst already skilled survivors, it made solid loopers untouchable. The extra 3% didn't do much for survivors who run into walls or can't track the killer.

I can see Wraith slaughtering survivors at lower MMRs, but at higher levels most survivors can counter it pretty easily. It's not a junk perk, but not S tier.

I personally love it when a killer uses it. I always run distortion, so once it triggers on me, they only know where I was in that moment in time. I just GTFO. Killer wastes so much time running to where I was looking everywhere. Lots of risk free gen time for the other survivors.

  • DragonMasterDarren
    DragonMasterDarren Member Posts: 2,846

Call it confirmation bias, but I rarely see FttE, and when I do, the killer doesn't get a lot of value out of it

I'm sure you're not having fun dealing with it, but personally, I'd much rather deal with FttE then 4 old MFTs

    Annso_x Member Posts: 1,611

I personally have been fun going against this perk.

The perk can be annoying when it's used by Blight or Nurse, but it's a killer issue rather than a perk issue in my opinion.

  • Venusa
    Venusa Member Posts: 1,489

I can see how it's a bit annoying because AFAIK it doesn't have a cooldown and it can be constantly activated back to back but I don't think it's comparable to MFT.

  • radiantHero23
    radiantHero23 Member Posts: 4,231

    Literally why?

I used the perk a ton to try it out. I even built a build around it.

My conclusion: meh perk. Good on certain killers. Almost useless on others.

Survivors tend to do the right thing. Go towards the opposite side of the hooked survivor. This on most maps, against most killers WILL outlast the 20 seconds. I've had matches where changing the obsession gave more value.

The best part of the Perk is the aura read and the survivor going off gens.

It's good on Wraith and other killers that can traverse the map fast. Maybe Dredge and Sadako as well.

That's it in my opinion. Mft was WAY better. But that is also hard to tell, because one is a survivor perk and the other a killer perk.

So survivors have invisibility cloaks now?

  • radiantHero23
    radiantHero23 Member Posts: 4,231

I ran it. It rarely gives value of survivors go towards the opposite of the hooked survivor. The killer will always approach in the most optimal way to arrive in time. Therefore, their pathing is very predictable. A survivor will outlast the 20 second duration. Maybe one instadown perk match. Maximum. Otherwise, people just play bad. We shouldn't nerf perks because of people playing bad.

    Well said.

A mediocre perk with simple counterplay, that can become alright in certain builds on certain killers.

As our Blight - expert, have you tried it on him? Should be ok, regarding his map traversal.

Honestly not a fan of how this perk became the 3rd most picked killer perk on nightlight

not saying that it’s busted or that nightlight is accurate

    but when MFT came out

it took the perk like a month and a few weeks to become the 3rd most picked perk on nightlight

this one has been out for 2 weeks only and it’s already in the 3rd place

and also ever since this perk’s release distortion has been skyrocketing in pickrates to the point everyone wants it gutted as well

  • radiantHero23
    radiantHero23 Member Posts: 4,231

Yes. I see this perk lasting 6 months.

I would even understand a buff.

It's a perk that disencourages camping and encourages going for other survivors. That's extremely game healthy. Sadly, the duration of the exposed makes it hard for most killers to even get a chance for a hit.

Sorry, but I'm certain that this perk will stay the same.

  • Krazzik
    Krazzik Member Posts: 2,475

It's pretty annoying and I wouldn't mind it being tuned down slightly. That said you can run Distortion and you don't have to worry about being the obsession. Run Calm Spirit too and you don't even have to worry if you become of the new obsession, AND you counter UW too.

  • CrowVortex
    CrowVortex Member Posts: 968

I don't even use the perk for the exposed effect on my Artist tbh, the 10/12 second aura is more valuable to me and helps with snipe follow-ups vs bbq's 5/7 seconds. Also the added synergy with DMS if i hook the obsession and the obession status switches to some random on a gen. If i manage to smack a nearby exposed obsession, that's just the cherry on top. 3 in 1 perk essentially.

  • LordGlint
    LordGlint Member Posts: 8,528

The single scream can be procced back to back if you keep going after the new obsession, but the aura reading/exposed can at most be procced every other hook to a survivor who SHOULD know it's coming.
