Why must previously earnable rewards be auric cell only on release? Have to wait a year
I don't understand why past earnable/free rewards have to be up in the store for auric cells for 4 weeks like everything else? Especially since these event rewards are now limited time, you have to wait a year to buy them with shards, like vittorio's sweater... I didnt play last winter event and missed out and now I have to wait a whole year for them to be for shards since they are limited time.
I just don't understand free rewards costing auric cells only at all.

That's how BHVR makes money. It's a marketing tactic called FOMO.

It's crazy cause they don't wanna add prestige 100 rewards because of fomo but then do this...

Yes, grinding to p100 for a reward is a soul sucking experience and will destroy most people's enjoyment of the game. You do not want to incentivize people to do that more than they already are. The moment you introduce a really cool p100 reward, people will burn out trying to get it.
Spending money in the store is instant :)

Yeah, but p100 doesn't have to be grinded for, the rewards can be for whenever, you could decide to take it slow instead. Like I don't have a p100, but I have all characters p3 at least and have Yui and huntress almost p30. But no rewards for having a prestige higher than p6, which I feel like is odd considering their fomo thing and it would incentivize more people to play to earn something. But thats just me, but I like earnables and free things

But there is one difference: They don't see any money from P100 Rewards, but from those cosmetics.

Indeed. Same reason why Feng gets so many cosmetics while some survivors have to wait for a long time to get anything.

Yes, it's that way right now because there is no major p100 reward. People who want to take a character to p100 do it because they want to do it, not because they feel like they have in order to obtain something cool. Imagine if they made a kickass cosmetic for p100 or a custom emote. Anyone who isn't p100 would feel like they're missing out on something (FOMO) and try to reach p100 to obtain that, rather than just doing it for fun or for pride.

True, prioritise the popular market rather than evenly distributing across all original survivors. I think they're doing a little better now though in that regard but yeah still happens.

Yeah. I was thinking more along the lines of a new profile icon or banner rather than something that would be really wanted like a cosmetic, cause then I think people would actually be upset about that but not so much an icon or something

And it's the way that most of her recent skins have been time limited and auric cells only. Lunar skin, anniversary skin, the Halloween skin. Rift skins of course. All auric only. And supposedly, her next skin will be auric cells permanently only as well.

Because people are not dumb. They have been "hiding" the cosmetics of green rarity for ages now. Artist's green ones are prime only, Haddie's came to the shop a lot later and except Vittorio all newer characters are missing these.
