Most likely will be fixed in the next update coming in January, unfortunately.
At least small game can help you find totems. Not ideal but better than nothing if it's a perk you struggle with.
For the record i do think it should be kill switched until then personally

Honestly I haven’t noticed it was bugged
I never find the totem via it’s aura

Wait, is Plaything bugged? Can we no longer see the aura of the totem?? That might explain why i never find it

yes it bugged we can't see the aura of the totem anymore.
i feel it should be kill switched too killers using it has risen I know it because it bugged.

Oh that explains it! I've been using Plaything recently and noticed that totems have lasted throughout the match. I didn't even know it was bugged. Yikes!

That explains a lot...I was running pentimento and I brought plaything to make them cleanse and only 1 got cleansed all match. So I guess that helped the survivors instead of me....they got very lucky.

Something about NWTH turning Onryo invisible.

i hate to say this but why didn't they killswitch Onryo not the perk?

I thought the same thing, but they must value a killer over a perk.

Crazy how they haven't kill switch that perk yet along with Hex; NoEd, which is having the same issue.

This has already been passed along to the team and is under review. Please use the Bug Reporting subforum in the future if you run into a bug. The pinned post there explains what information can help the team! Bug Reporting — BHVR

I'll respond on the question around the Kill Switch. The issue with interaction between Onryo and Nowhere to Hide was definitely problematic - an invisible killer is definitely game breaking, and when we have to decide which option to use to address the issue, we will choose the one that's least problematic to the game as a whole. Switching off a whole killer is definitely a nuclear option especially as this is likely to be for longer than normal given the holiday period fast approaching, in this case it was the interaction with a specific perk that caused the problem, so it was far wiser to kill switch the perk and allow players to still play the character they desired.
With Hex Plaything, I can confirm our QA team is looking into the issue. However, this isn't going to be considered game breaking - survivors can still find the totem through normal means to remove the effects of Plaything, and even in regular games (when the aura was showing), survivors didn't need to cleanse the totem and just played around the perk.
And to the point that someone mentioned that "killers are abusing this" - the use of Hex Plaything has actually decreased recently not increased, so I definitely don't think this is being abused.
