Stagnant Game
Why is a MOBILE version of this game getting updated more often with features and game modes than it's originator? I've played this game since 2016 and the more I see posts like this, with no new update to DBD other than cosmetics and microtransactions for pages of grey charms ill never use from the story time rift.
Don't get me wrong I support the game and the rifts but the line of this game just asking for money and no new substantial changes needs to draw the line or the game will sadly fade away. Population is literally here for this game and its just becoming a cash cow of the same.
I've made post after post asking for new modes, ways to escape and die, more execution's than the same one on repeat, FOREVER. To be met with silence as i don't understand why so many people don't care to see the game expand with what I've listed along with new maps and killers.
As a Horror buff this whole ordeal personally is frustrating and saddening, maybe one day ill be heard

Ah it's a separate team with with more refined code. Meaning unlike PC and Console DBD the code is easier to work and not made of sticky spaghetti. This means they get more simply cause it's easier.

This means if BHVR ever decides to remake DBD with newer code. We would see a massive performance boost, better graphics, and more frequent updates. The only problem is that it would take time and money and in the eyes of BHVR per the moment. It just isn't worth it cause we will complain if we go threw months without content. Much left the one to four years it would take to remake the game from scratch to a playable state.

Mobile version is ran by Netease, which is a much bigger company than BHVR I believe, so it's not up to BHVR what mobile gets. And honestly compared to the mobile version we're doing well in the microtransaction and "corporate greed" front.
Also this is possibly absolutely false but I personnally believe it's easier to add stuff to the mobile version because they didn't inherit the spaghetti code. I dream of getting DBD 2 where it's literally all the same stuff but the code is remade from scratch and optimized so the devs can spend more time working on cool stuff instead of having to fix everything that breaks everytime there's an update.
I do hope the positive reaction from the players will make BHVR consider adding new game modes to DBD more than they currently are.

There's more money in mobile versions of a game than there is in the console version of it.

I really don't feel comfortable saying that the same game can't get the same added features, despite different companies etc. It came from somewhere!
Also I've said to friends they are either gonna make a sequel to this game or they are gonna pull a "overwatch 2" or "Counter-Strike-2" kind of move

Why wouldn't a mobile game be easier to update and experiment new content on compared to a full game? Not to mention that DBD mobile spent several years just catching up to the main game, at this point it's not really weird at all that it's doing its own thing.

why are you even saying this when they steam rolled past the OG's feature point? Tiffany skin rn is 20 dollars and so is the dumb bear nobody asked for and he has more to him like a new mori than a license. Please Open your eyes and help make the game better with voicing. Mobile has been sitting there inputting stuff for so long and now the PC needs to catch up

separate team means nothing, its the same game. You're fine with mobile getting more to it then the OG PC? hello?????????

This game Originated on PC and is cross-play....????????????

I mean if it makes you feel any better they're currently actively prototyping different gamemodes at the moment. Hopefully we'll see more about it quite soon.

I have no idea what point you're trying to make by talking about skins.
It's very simple. A mobile port will always have an easier time adding new features and testing new things than a more developed version. And separate management means their decisions are all about what works for their version of the game specifically. BHVR has already shown that they're willing to learn from and take what works from what the mobile team has done, but frankly, the game is better off without a lot of that stuff. The grass really isn't that much greener on the other side.

It's the same game, but it's not same code... That's a massive difference for development.

Netease does not need to produce any new content for the game, bHVR does that so they can just relax and do whatever the want.
So ofc Netease can do gameplay modes that bHVR dont have time for.

So you're okay with a flat featureless version, got it.

That excuse is getting old. BHVR is using one of the most extended, feature rich and polished engines there is, being the main engine of most of the biggest games in the last decades. It can be programmed in either one of the oldest and most extended programming languages there is (C++), a proprietary visual scripting system that doesn't need advanced programming knowledge (Blueprints) or ideally a combination of both, with soon another proprietary and easier to learn language created for Fortnite being integrated in the main engine (Verse).
If their code is spaghetti, it has nothing to do with the platform the game is programmed on. Also, this may surprise you, but the code and the performance has little to do with graphics or how frequent they make updates, not the impossibility of adding features to the game. If they made the code, they can change it to add whatever is needed no matter what it takes.
By the way, I don't know where you got that coding a game for PC and Console is somehow "harder" than coding one for mobile, specially when right now most engines (including Unreal Engine) are multiplatform and mobile versions usually share most if not all of the code with changes only done to graphics.
The real reason: The Mobile version is developed and maintained by NetEase, a company with experience in developing mobile games that moves millions in the asian gaming market.
The question here is, how a company like BHVR with a 7 year old game that has 60 million players buying cosmetics and DLCs multiple times for multiple platforms, a 10$ spin off game, a deal with one of the biggest asian mobile gaming developer in the world, and both another spin off game and a movie coming still works and offer the same live service quality than an indie company instead of being at NetEase level.

Thank you so much for giving an elaborate point to my post , it's really tiring getting the back handed comments with no discussion because they are biased.

Making an excuse for a dev team you're not even a part of is crazy. sounds like you're biased for whatever reason to continue on loop sim and gen sim. please..

I may not work as developer for dbd, but I am a developer. My reason is simply I can relate...
Luckily I am not part of big corporate, but they are. Devs can't work on whatever they want.
Rewriting whole game would take a lot of time and that's not something corporate would like to see, because it doesn't generate money, at least not in short run.

If you are a developer, you would then know they don't need to rewrite the whole code to add basic features to the game than should have being already there, just to mention one example. Like I said, if they made the code, they can change it to fit whatever necessity there is. That, and they are using UE, so it's not like they don't have a pretty good base and workflow established to do whatever they want.
Also, even if I agree about the corporate part, like I also said, the thing here is that another company is basically adding to the same game (yeah yeah, two code bases, same game still) a lot of features and content that either was asked to be added to the main version long ago, or is simply much better thought and implemented that anything BHVR has come up with (fun fact: the visual terror radius as we know it was implemented first in the mobile version). To put it simply, NetEase Games is part of an even bigger corporate than BHVR, but that doesn't prevent them to improve non-stop their version of the game.
Now, if BHVR was a small indie company then ok, NetEase is a monster in the asian mobile gaming market that moves millions of dollars and users, so it's not feasible to ask for a small studio to have the same development and live service quality standards as them. But BHVR is not an small company. Again: Dozens of games under their sleeve...
... with their main license having 60 million players buying DLCs and microtransactions, a spin off game, all the revenue from the mobile version, another spin off being made and a movie coming. They are not your small indie studio that just started making games with the money they saved flipping burgers.
So, again, the question here is: How is NetEase able to look at the game and say "We should allow for survivors to see the builds of their teammates" and do it, while after 7 years BHVR is like "Well, we didn't have any plan to do something like that, and the interface that we ourselves did prohibits us from doing it, so maybe in the next years"? Again, just to mention one example of the many things that could go on this list.
That's the problem here. It doesn't even have anything to do with the NetEase version "being better" or not, but with BHVR developing and maintaining their game as they were 5 guys in a garage and not a full blown veteran studio with 1300 employees and money flowing.

I suggest you advocate for something a little different here since it's not about how bad dev's have it for whatever magical corprate quota they need. This game takes money and all the years its been cashin in it has done near nothing to improve the gameplay other than make loops last forever with survivor hand holding care packages

Could at least let us shut off the stupid auto aim/aim dressing.
