Missing the point of a sac ward
For a green offering it's quite rare to get in your bloodweb. So why does the realm stay in rotation when used? I have to finally get one in a bloodweb, guess someone put a map offering on, just for the same map to pop up. What's the point of it then?

The idea is that it levels the playing field, so to speak.
Wouldn’t be against it turning the chances on its head, though.

A sac ward doesn’t completely remove the chance entirely to get a map that had its offering used, it just makes it so it gives the map as much of a chance to be selected as if there weren’t any offerings at all. Looks like you got unlucky. One time I brought a sac ward when there was an Ormond offering and we still got Ormond.

It negates the bonus chance from offerings to get a map unless 4 offerings are burned for the map.

I do wish they'd either reduce the rarity to uncommon or make it so that if no map offerings are used you get your Ward back.
Currently they're far too rare and map offerings are far too common for sac wards to really be that important.

I think getting the Ward back when no Map Offering is used is the way to go. The mechanic already exists with the Shrouds (even if it happens rarely nowadays), and it should totally be used for the Sacrificial Ward as well.

Or just completely rework/remove map related offerings because they give too much power to both sides

Honestly, I think they should be changed so that if a survivor burns an offering, it reduces the chance of that map appearing instead. That way, they can't control map spawns as much, but you can still have funny scratched mirror matches.

In a sunny future the people working on map design figure out how not to make the same mistake on every new map/rework

it should be removed, along with map offerings.
if not, at least this needs to be done to it. and nothing less. i'd prefer them become brown.

Recently I made a post about Sac Ward. I made 2 points:
- it's hard to find it in bloodwebs, and it's wasted when used without map offerings being offered
- the user misses out on extra bloodpoints, by using Sac Ward over a BP offering
My suggestion was to make the Sac Ward not get consumed in matches where no-one uses a map offering. As for the situations where the RNG still sends people to the map that got offered and cancelled with the Sac Ward - I think it's fine. In that case it was purely the RNG at work. I've rarely seen this happen.
Plus, if Sac Ward prevented fully from the offered realm to actually manifest in the match, then SWFs could abuse that to eliminate 3 realms from the match (3 map offerings + a sac ward would cancel those 3 realms). Not sure how common that would be though.

The Sacrificial Ward only negates the increased chance to be sent to a realm from another map offering. There is still the normal chance you may be sent there, however.
That said, if you'd prefer it work differently, I'd suggest making a post in the feedback section.

Is it *possible* the sac wards are bugged?
I have noticed the last 3 times in a row that a Survivor offered one and the Killer offered a map, we went to the map offered by the Killer.
I just find it odd that that would happen 3 times in one day.
The maps were Lery's, Gideon and Midwitch.
I don't know if offerings can get bugged the way perks do for example.

There's always a chance, though it's pretty unlikely since as far as I'm aware there hasn't been any changes to that offering or the way the game picks maps in quite some time. It never hurts to create a bug report, though. Our QA team will take a look and ensure they're working correctly.

Found another sac ward in my bloodweb..... once again a map offering.... I refuse to believe you guys didn't code some sort of luck for killers or something. This is insane?

I know how it works, that wasn't my point. I just find the way this works silly, there's no point in bringing it if it's going to give the map anyways. I'd like my offering back then
