Genuinely, what am I meant to do facing this in solo queue?
I just hopped on the game and got greeted by a Blight hard tunneling at five generators. How is it even possible to do anything with a 3v1 at basically four gens?

You should feel excited that you're struggling against a vicious killer. What? You thought your gameplay should have a meaningful impact on the outcome in a PVP game? PAH. This is an asymmetrical horror experience. Just stop caring about things like skill expression, meaningful participation, or gameplay (because hiding for hatch is the best play), and enjoy the HORROR EXPERIENCE.
It is not indicative of a problem when the outcome would be the same if you loaded in and walked away from your keyboard/controller. Nope. Matchmaking is fine.

Nothing.
This game is lost already either because Zarina was unable to stall the Blight for long enough, your team was not gen efficient enough, or both.
If you are solo queue there is only so much you can do, take 2 hits you will just get slugged. Slam gens Zarina dies even faster. Do amazing in chases Blight just leaves.

Just accept your fate. Solo queue is just a murder simulator at this point.

I'd love to see a mechanic along the lines of:
If the first player is hooked twice in a row without anyone else being hooked, all other survivors gain a considerable repair speed bonus.
This bonus is lost when another player is hooked, this bonus is permanent if the first player is hooked 3 times before another player is hooked. (Does not include giving up on hook or not being unhooked on phase 2.)
Nothing outrageous, just a bit of encouragement towards "ruining one person's match may not be the best move for you."

You got this! Just power all 5 gens and you're outta there.

I play killer nowaday just to charity Solo people a fun game.
Most survivors respect me even if I get 1K after 8-9 hooks match
11 -
Lose and play the next game. There isn't much else you can do in this situation.
Although I must say, that the matchmaking here seems to work flawlessly again. How does he manage to get 2 hooks at 5 gens?
3 -
We honestly got to a point where you just gotta either power through gens or just hide. Personally, if a blight, no any killer, wanna be boring and hard tunnel at 5, I just be boring right back and hide. This is a hide and seek game right? Welp, lets do just that then.
3 -
This is exactly how I play killer now. I donโt care about โwinningโ I just care about chase and getting a decent amount of hooks spread out. We all tend to make good bp
4 -
Nothing. You can at least try and get some progress for a tome challenge/achievement but if your plan was escaping that's just not happening if the killer tunnels from the get go
2 -
Genuinely why do people even play like that? It almost feels like he's playing to make the survivors feel miserable rather than playing to have fun or even playing to win by tunneling a survivor at 5 gens as a top 3 killer. What does one gain from that?
5 -
not much you can do against a tunneling killer, even if you are a part of a swf that plays macro perfectly; it essentially comes down to the target's looping skills and if that's lacking game is lost. others just need to not lose a single second and slam gens in the meantime.
2 -
Thats the neat thing - you cannot do anything.
If the game turns into a 3v1 before 4 Gens are completed, this is usually a loss for the Survivors. And once it turns into a 3v1, the Killer will just farm points and go for Hooks, because they won and just maximize their BP-gain.
You can only hope that the person being chased is decent enough to waste time of the Killer and the 3 Survivors who are noing being chased know that they need to do Gens. But this is usually not the case. There is nothing more frustrating than either seeing a player being tunneled or being the one tunneled and you see other teammates doing Chests or Totems.

Play for hatch, start opening those chests and hope you find a key.
2 -
Just lose I guess.
Survivors are only in the game for fodder.
3 -
Safe to say that there's nothing you an do
and that's the issue... why are Killer's doing this??? Why are Survivors so focused on Gens???
Also safe to say that MMR has something to do with this
Cause we all know that Kills and Escapes are the only things that effect MMR
1 -
Play for the hatch. Try and repair as much as you can, losing with 3 gens left is better than being whitewashed with all 5 still standing. Do that and then be the last to die, i.e find hatch or sneak out the exit when he closes hatch.

This is pretty disingenuous...
Surely no one here has to explain to you the possible scenarios which could lead to this post--none of which would objectively come back as being OP's fault. It would be foolish to assume you've never found yourself in OP's shoes in all of the hours you've played DBD. Unless, of course, you have never played Survivor.
"Focus on generators, and leave your teammate on hook for as long as possible each stage" would have been a more genuine response, because the reality is that there is little anyone can do about the situation as a whole, but there is definitely something everyone can do to make sure they aren't making the situation worse for them and their team.
@mikewelk no single survivor can "fix" this problem. You all need to do your part, and at least 2 of you will escape. If even one of you waivers, no one escapes

Took me 15min just now to get into my first match of the day, and it was a full aura build Nurse tunnelling at 5 gens ๐คฃ I dunno if I should bother queuing up again
2 -
I've heard ome people listen music while doing gens until they get grabbed and then forget to hit skillchecks on hook.
Realistically there is nothing to be done. Just get ready for the next match and don't take it too personally. The loss isn't a practical reflection of your skill level.

Your problem was with your teammates far more than the tunneling Blight. Looks like they did pretty much nothing while Zarina was being chased. I've been there before a few times. This is why I always bring Clairvoyance to solo q matches. The game is already lost, so at least give yourself a better chance of getting hatch.
This also demonstrates the absurdity of the current SBMM system. Your useless teammates are scored exactly the same in the eyes of the SBMM system as those who are are great loopers and great teammates but maybe they didn't escape because they got tunneled to death.

I am truly incaptivated by such a perspective. This really has opened my eyes. Thank you.

Zarina definitely didn't belong in my MMR (the matchmaking is just that perfect) and I felt bad. The killer was pretty trash, just kept spamming their ability and trying to flick way too often. They left chase with me numerous times to go straight back to hook or because they felt embarassed, not too sure.

Have to inflate those kill-rates somehow! ๐

Zarina hacked the MMR system!!!

Funny thing is they hard tunneled EACH person off hook and wouldn't chase me because I mained Blight and know how to counter him somewhat. Left chase to go to the other side of the map where the unhook happened...

I managed to get some chases in, they didn't even land a hit (because they kept trying to mindgame a Blight main) and then proceeded to tunnel the person getting unhooked on the other side of the map...

Thank you for your service! ๐ซก

I couldn't because I was hooked after getting stuck on a tiny pebble and my other teammate forgot to get in the locker to avoid BBQ so it was ggs and back to the lobby...

I forget challenges and achievements exist most of the time, I don't really need the BP.

I mean when there's a lack of skill and a strategy that doesn't require much, it'll fill in the void and make them think they are a powerful killer that squashed a SWFs chance to win a game instantly and they don't realize it's solo queue. Losing against that would hurt their ego for whatever reason.
1 -
I'm sure I can trust MMR to handle that and provide me with appropriate teammates! This was just a glitch in the system.
0 -
I always give the last person hatch, if they weren't playing toxicly, and even sometimes, if survivors have a personality, I will let two out. I always spread my hooks and play just like I would want to be played against.

You keep mentioning how you can outplay the blight, but why couldn't your teammates? You could infer that the blight is better than them and deserves the kills, especially since he had one out before a single gen was completed (hell, based on the screenshot it looks like there isnt a single gen past 50%)
If you're really good at wasting the killer's time, you should be doing that from the start to buy your team as much time as you can. If they ignore you, you should get gens done while he goes for someone else. Not saying this game was winnable, but you could have certainly done more.
0 -
Because my teammates don't belong in my MMR first off. The screenshot had a gen on 94-95% which I worked on since the game started so there's that. How do I waste the killer's time if he actively avoids me because he didn't get a hit after thirty seconds? Your logic is really flawed here. I was doing gens which is EXACTLY what the screenshot shows but you clearly didn't pay attention. I couldn't have done anything else that would've helped, if I'm incorrect about that please infrom me how I could've.
This reply is just a bunch of assumptions and blaming me for everything lmao.

The first two pistons are the only ones that look like they've moved, thats why I made the 50% comment, not much to go off of without video and certainly no reason to get defensive. Also my logic isn't flawed, You either waste his time or maximize your own, thats all you can do as an individual survivor. I also stated that even doing your best doesn't make the match winnable, you have to share agency with the other 3 players and they apparently aren't on your "pinnacle of survivor" level.
0 -
Two of the pistons are very obviously down, the third one is halfway down, and the left one is slightly coming down. It's not hard to see that. You just made that comment to attack me for not making use of the time or whatever your point was in that reply. They weren't on my level, they usually never are because that's just MMR, so no need for the sarcasm. It's common knowledge MMR is unbelievably bad. I would still like some example of how I could've done anything, never asked for the sarcasm.

Well, its a Blight. Cracked addons, CI, Leathal and Pain Res are very likely. Probably one survivor was close, unhooked very soon after and there we are.
0 -
They had one bad game against one of the notorious bully or good SWFS and decided it to be vendettas against all survivors. Somehow unaware playing like this will get the sweaty swfs.
2 -
Nope, Blight was proximity camping and wouldn't leave the area whilst in chase nearby. They were really paranoid and kept looking back at hook to see if someone's going for the unhook. When they relaxed with the camping, they went across the entire map to immediately go back if someone unhooked lol. I don't remember the add-ons specifically, just that there was one green and one yellow add-on, but they did have BBQ.
Luckily my team wasn't that altruistic and bought a little gen time...

Survivors are focused on gens because there's nothing much else we can do. We can take a hit and whatever but Blight can close the distance gained in one rush and we're left healing for sixteen seconds whilst the chase lasts a tiny bit longer.

Cycle of revenge...

But the game is bigger then Blight and Nurse...
How much fun is had when doing the Gens as feat as possible against other Killers
Like 3-4 Gens done and 2-3 hooks (all on different Survivors)
0 -
Still, that is pretty fast. Even a Blight first has to play around the map and get 2 hits. And judging by the screenshot op provided, it seems that they don't have any gens on 30%+. So this is probably still during the first minute of the game.

Like I said, make the best use of your time. Thats all you can do when you're one of 4 in a 1v4. This isn't a game like League of Legends, there are no hypercarries, you can only pull your own weight and do what you can to help the others pull their own. Take the advice or leave it, not really willing to argue with you. Cheers.
0 -
The gen in the picture is 94-95% done. Two pistons are clearly down (aka 50% guaranteed so I have no idea where 30% came from), one piston is halfway down, and one is slightly down.
0 -
Still no example provided. But yeah, cheers for the pointless replies that got us nowhere! Some advice for you, if you want to argue successfully, you should probably back up your points with examples. It builds credibility and allows a constructive argument.

Nothing illegal or disallowed about it. Just poking fun at how most games are played out against solo queue and how helpless solo queue is in such situations when even S tier killers resort to it.
0 -
Seems as though my eyes were deceiving me. Looking at it again, you're right. 2 of them are definitely down. Maybe I need new glasses after all. ๐
0 -
It's all good, you aren't the only one!
0 -
The blight is tunneling, 3 hooks should take at least 3 minutes to do. Why are 0 gens done?
0 -
The one in the picture is 94-95% done since I was on it at the start of the game. Ask my solo queue teammates because I don't have the answers you seek. Pressure probably got to the Zarina.

- 2x Pop
- 1x Pain Res
- 2x Eruption
- First gen wasn't even started before the first down due to either Corrupt or Lethal
Just guessing...

ahh the first time around they tweaked mmr it was so nice, i was running my healing build and noone ever wanted any heals because they could do a gen instead, multiple times in different matches. i for the first time i think in my dbd playtime felt like the weak link of my lobbies. then it went downhill again and i started to get distortion self care teammates.
