Visual Terror Radius and Onryo

The visual terror radius has made playing Onryo miserable. It's so easy to tell who is using it and who isn't because anyone using it knows 100% any time she's around. It activates so early that you can pre-run and gain half a map of distance. Onryo is a stealth killer who can't attack in stealth, and coming out of stealth slows her down. Accessibility is important, but it shouldn't negatively affect gameplay. It shouldn't counter a killer's power.

I actually think they should remove her lullaby from the visual heart beat, because I didn‘t even know she had one before I activated it.

is this a bug I’m unaware of? If you’re demanifested doesn’t that hide your terror radius meaning no visual heartbeat?

She has a Lullaby (similarly to Trickster and Huntress) that is unaffected by the Undetectable status effect. It sounds like high-pitched whining and screeching sounds. It shows as part of the visual Terror Radius indicator as a red swirling in the survivor's chest.

The "Lullaby" in general should go, although I understand why they'd want to visual heartbeat to pick it up. It's SUPPOSE to be an accessibility feature, and ppl who can hear can get the information of Onryo's "Lullaby". Kinda makes the undetectable part pointless though.

The biggest reason for it is Huntress I believe. If you're hard of hearing and can't hear her massive lullaby, it's definitely going to be a problem if she's readying a hatchet without you knowing she's near and can see you.
That said, for killers like Sadako or Trickster, their lullabies are so small they pretty much assist in prerunning from them. I have the visual TR on myself because I like the look of it, and yeah it makes them unable to be stealthy.

The visual terror radius was a pretty big buff to survivors. I use and I'm guessing most other survivor players out there use it too. Killers never got any kind of accessibility enhancements, and to my knowledge the devs never addressed this. There are probably some killer players out there who have difficulty hearing - do they not deserve accessibility enhancements too?

This was brought up before with generator sounds. Apparently there's visual audio for gen progress on mobile version.

Watch this mobile killer gameplay and you’ll see the killer accessibility that exists
3 -
Yeah, how about no? I genuinely cannot her her screeching noises through my tinnitus like 90% of the time.
Accessibility options exist for a reason.
1 -
There's 0 reason for those killers to HAVE a Lullaby. All it does is negate stealth options. Perks like Trail of Torment become useless if the survivors are going to get a warning anyway. Trickster doesn't have the same burst damage Huntress does either. If you don't notice a Trickster is aiming at you until he sinks 8 blades in you... that's on you.

Sadako overall is such a mess atm.

I agree with this. I don't want to remove the accessibility option altogether but it shouldn't counter the killer. This issue would go away if the lullaby was much smaller and easier to hear.
As it is now the lullaby is large, but it starts so quiet that for the first few meters the only way to know it's there is to see it with the visual terror radius. This means that using it significantly counters her stealth and goes past accessibility into giving an unfair advantage.
Making the lullaby smaller and easier to hear would bring things to a more even level between using the accessibility option and not. That's how it should work.
As for her other issues... I'unno.

Absolutely agreed on that point.

Common sadako L

No. Huntress and Trickster have lullaby for good reasons.
But i will never understand why Sadako has it.
1 -
Please explain why Trickster needs both a 42 meter Lullaby and a 32 meter TR.
3 -
I would agree 💯 I feel it gives survivors an unfair advantage.

It’s not a bug. It’s part of the visual heart beat mechanic sadly.

I agree ☝️ it’s awful for onyro. It would be a nice QOL change for sure.
1 -
I get that but the killer shouldn’t be punished for people that don’t have an issue and use it for an upper hand. 🤷🏼♂️
Killer accessibility should also exist then too.

Because he can spam million knieves into you without penalty. Unlike Huntress, he is not getting slowdown for hitting or missing. So he will keep spam them. He has lullaby for a good reason.

it is because when spirit got released, she had no sound in phase-walk. From gathering Spirit feedback, Sadako has flickering invisibility so they decided to add a directional high-pitched screeching sounds when Sadako turns invisible. It is not really related to her TR, more related to her anti-loop which just happens to also affect her TR because distance == current TR. it allows high-tier survivor player to know what direction she coming from. The lullaby just so happens to work outside of chase and inside chase.
The visual indicator is for player with hearing disability issues so the mechanic is working as intended.

You failed to actually explain why he needs a Lullaby. Why doesn't Plague have a Lullaby? Why doesn't Bubba have a Lullaby? What is special about Trickster that deems it necessary to have a Lullaby instead of just a TR.
1 -
It should either be removed from showing up on the Visual Terror Radius (VTR) or BHVR should find a way to make the VTR only show up when the lullaby actually makes noise.
Right now many survivors run the VTR to get an advantage in the game since it gives them extra info, and no where is this most noticeable than when playing against Sadako/Onryo.
As @jonifire mentioned, many survivors did not even know she had a lullaby until the VTR update, simply due to how quiet and subtle her lullaby can be. The VTR feature directly hurts more than any other killer and makes her stealth aspects weaker.
BHVR needs to either fix this issue within the VTR by making the VTR reflect how subtle her lullaby is, or change and add-on to modify her lullaby.
The Clump of Hair add-on which is currently a useless add-on but geared towards stealth gameplay would be a great choice. By making this add-on have her Terror Radius be either map-wide or removed, it would give Onryo players a way to counter survivors using the accessibility feature for an advantage which hurts her.

Nah i did not failed, it's just you did not like it.
Plague can't insta-down you. She need to full infect you first. Bubba can catch you unguard but he still need to hold chainsaw first which gives you room to make it pallet or vault.
Trickster: Click m2 and start to spam your power.
0 -
If they insist on keeping it, at least make the radius smaller, like 16 or 12 meters. Then she could at least get closer before people begin prerunning.
3 -
Trickster ALSO can't instadown you. Unlike the others, he can't even insta injure you.
1 -
Oh definetely he can. His power maybe not insta-down you but it's so closer to that level. Unlike other killers, he can hit you behind pallet and vault as well. So good luck to dodge his countless knives. Especially if he caught you unguard. That's why he should never lose lullaby.
1 -
In that case, why doesn't Xeno have a Lullaby, a killer who can ALSO hit over pallets? Or once again Plague... or Nemesis.
1 -
I agree ☝️
2 -
It's funny you can turn it on in game, so even players who don't normally use it can just turn it on when they find out it's her.
3 -
Because you can counter Xeno with turrets, he also can't sneak if you know how to play against him. And Plague can't spam her power, she will hit you once and you will be immune to her power for a bit which will give you a space. Nemesis need to hit you 3 times and even he use no TR perk, he can't sneak because he is walking so loud.
And i don't even mentioned, Nemesis and Plague are tall killers which is even harder to stealth with them.
Next question?

You're claiming that Trickster can pour damage on you faster than Plague? That 16 blades will hit faster than 2 pukes.
Sidenote... you don't become immune to Plague's power. You just can't get hit twice with 1 stream. A Plague can just hit you rapidly with 2 short charged streams.
