Can we PLEASE remove survivor prestiges from the lobby?
I just realized how ridiculous this is, why isn't this changed yet? The fact that people don't want to play their favorite survivor because the killer might treat them differently from a lower prestige is absolutely ridiculous. The survivors can't see the killers prestige, so why should the survivors be forced to show theirs? It's really stupid.
And I'm assuming this wouldn't be a difficult change to make, and I think that a lot of people agree that it's a stupid piece of information in the first place. So why isn't this changed yet???

I agree. Seeing Prestige 100 puts some players off in the lobby.. an option to hide it would be good

Can we please not though? It's much better if they're kept visible.

i hope they take their sweet sweet time on putting this feature through because i like dodging p100 survivors in my killer lobby. :)
(do not talk to me about prestige not = skill. i already know. skill isn't why i dodge survivor teams, and i'm so sick of being jumped every time i say i dodge p100 survivors by people repeating the same information.)

Some people also want any info they can get to dodge a lobby that might be challenging too.

This is exactly the reason it should be removed. It also makes matchmaking worse since the lobby now has to back-fill. Personally I think the lobby should be scrapped altogether. You queue then get matched and load straight into the game. Seeing items/survivors/prestige/steam profiles shouldn't be available pre-trial since it only gives the killer a reason to dodge. You were matched for a reason. Lobby shopping needs to go.

nah

but remeber then you need to buff killer for that. it is part of a killers toolkit to see the survivor and react to there items thats the reason why most killer hate that awefull last second swap

I’m playing my favorite survivor. 🤷🏼♂️ I don’t care what the killer does. I’m gonna help myself and my team the best I can.

I also would like to test out no lobbies and see the effect on matchmaking quality, but I see the issue you bring up.
Perhaps what is needed is a visible lobby and the ability to change loadouts, but not the character. Killers already are locked in, so survs should be too. It amazes me that last second swapping bs survs can do is still in the game.
As others have pointed out, the lobby shopping needs to go. The atrocious backfilling problem is likely the biggest cause of the ridiculously one-sided matches out there. That alone outweighs anyone's need to flex their prestiges or whatever.
They say they're still looking at hiding prestige options, so that has to wait for now.

Can you expand on why you feel this way? Survivors don't get to see anything on the killer side, why is it fair that killers can pick and choose which lobbies they play based off a literal infinite amount of more information than survivors receive?

on one hand yes lobby shopping sucks and is bad for fair matches, but on the other hand i do admit that i do it to as a killer.
bevor i had lightborn i left full flashlight lobbys and now i mostly dodge lobby with streamers cause i had one to many interactions with streamer that either play super super bold to show of and then complain and curse me and there mates when it goes south or they do some meme stuff and get hyper toxic when i refuse to "vibe" with them
edit: and yes its crazy last minute swaps are still in the game and its also crazy to see so many people defend it

As a killer main, I agree. We shouldn't have someone's play time potentially affect the killer's willingness to play the match, but then again, being able to check people's profile essentially has the same effect.

i just don't get why wanting survivor prestiges to still be in the pre game lobby is something people need to "defend" or "explain". it's so sad that other people are pushing their viewpoints onto me and other people who feel the same way as me as if we're wrong to think the way we do. me personally, I NEVER do that with other people, i accept i can agree to disagree with people, but i'm so tired of the no nuance response everyone gives. like wanting survivor prestiges to still be shown (especially so i can lobby dodge) is some sort of wizard jujitsu that needs to be removed from the game because it's bad.
like damn, i have a p50 zarina and for all i know people hate me for it and tunnel me for it and dodge me for it but i'll never know, and i'll never care because they won't tell me that. like am i crazy for thinking this? i don't think i am. you're free to push for survivor prestiges being gone, whatever, i accept it's an eventuality because they've already spoken about it, and have already tested the feature in game before, but i want survivor prestiges to stay visible for as long as possible so killer still feels comfy to me. :)

There are many survivors I would like to raise to high prestige levels. I would love to raise Ash, Ripley, and Alan Wake to high prestige levels to show my love for their franchises. But I don't want killers to lobby dodge against me. So instead I pour most of my BP into my favorite killers instead, and only spend just enough BP on my favorite survivors to keep them supplied with items.

Killer is the strongest it has ever been. They do not need a buff to compensate. If you are losing because of last second swaps that is on you.

Not even dodge, it just gives the killer unnecessary information. "Oh, this play has 4000 hours? I now know that they're probably gonna be a problem and I should stay away from them."
"Oh, 4 items? Time for franklins!"
"Oh, flashlights? Lightborn it is!"
It's just stupid. It's not like survivors can see the killers profile, so why give the killer information for no reason? Even if you can hide this stuff, I shouldn't have to.

I didn't even make the post about that, the main reason was because there's many killers that treat high prestiges differently than lower prestiges. Getting tunneled out just because you're playing your favorite character is just BS.

I agree with you, I was responding to someone else

Because the game is asymetrical. There's 4 of them and they can all bring tools that can make or break the killer's ability to play the game, way more than anything the killer can bring to impact theirs. If the killer couldn't see survivor loadouts and they came in as a 4 (or well, we don't even need to go that far, 2 players is enough) man flashlight squad with a map offering to ensure that they can get flashlight saves, then that killer's game is beyond f-ed. They may as well just give up because they aren't getting any hooks. They need that info to be able to adjust their builds accordingly. The same goes if they're bringing 4 toolkits, although at that point it's a guessing game. Are they going to delete gens or are they a sabo squad? Who knows. Either way, the game's going to be miserable and so the killer needs to prepare accordingly.
By that same token, I know people like to pretend that survivor levels don't equate to skill, but levels can give you a feel for how much time a survivor has invested into the game. Speaking from experience, p100 players are often much harder to deal with than others. It's not a perfect metric, but it's better than none at all.
Survivors bring 4 people, 4 items with 2 addons a piece and 16 perks against 1 killer with 4 perks and 2 addons. The killer needs info, the survivors don't. They've got every numerical advantage under the sun. That's the nature of asymetrical games.

I’m not against killer being able to see loadouts at all, I just don’t think showing prestiges is necessary.
1 -
k.
And I disagree for the reasons I stated. I know they're going to remove the ability to see them sooner rather than later, they've already signaled as much, but I think it's a godawful idea and it will never not be a godawful idea.
1 -
Fair enough, but for the matchmaking system to actually work, lobby dodging can’t be as frequent as it is.
1 -
Items should still be seen. Prestiges should not. Disable character switch in last 15 seconds.
2 -
Last second swapping is fine. If the killer is changing their perks and add-ons because of what they see in the lobby then that is their problem.
My friends and I last second swap to our p100's solely because we get lobby dodged otherwise. We are not good nor do we play in a manner other player's would call sweaty, but watching multiple killers leave the lobby is butt cheeks. I've never noticed differential treatment in trial, but before the trial there definitely is and its obnoxious. If the roles were reversed and survivors could see the killer prestige pre-trial I'm sure high prestige killers wouldn't find matches as quickly.

last second swap to your p100 because you get dodged is fair. prestige shoulndt be shown before game. i only have a problem with last second swap so they can all have flashys or medkits so the killer cant react to it.

Disable character switching at all honestly. The killers locked in, so should the survivors.

Last I heard was Nov 2023 where BHVR are still analysing the data here:
Hopefully we get an update soon, cause I still veheremently support this change.

I honestly don't really see the point of forcing players to show their prestige or not.
I get why people would want to hide prestige but I honestly believe it should simply be an option. People that lobby-shop would still do it even if it was hidden, they'd just do it based on items (and cosmetics to some extent) only instead.
If you want to flex, then show your prestige.
If you'd rather stay under the radar until post-match then hide it.
I firmly believe that "just make it an option" is a good answer to a lot of problems.
Especially in an assym, any mechanic or addition that lowers variety is almost inherently unhealthy for the game unless it only removes something bad and nothing else.
Example: the Anti-3-gen system (essentially deletes most regression perks and non-regression kick perks due to having limited amount per gen) doesn't do that since it does way more than prevent endless 3-gens and hurts many perks alongside weaker Killers by putting unnecessary limits that must be kept in mind even when not intending to 3-gen. The system would be perfect if it only activated after the 4th gen is completed as that would only prevent endless games without hindering playstyles and perk variety mid-game.
Example 2: The HUD update (makes a couple Survivor perks less relevant, while Kindred is still as present as ever, Bond and Empathy were more common in the past) does accomplish that since it helps bridge the gap between SWF and SoloQ a tiny bit and doesn't impige on builds, in fact Survivors can use a wider range of perks due to teammate status being semi-basekit.

Prestige numbers just makes everyone judge eachother before and during the round. It can still be shown off just like the killer at the end of the round. I feel pressured when playing my 100 no matter what and often targeted. They all asume i brought meta perks and items when i just use the cheap stuff and my characters own perks to be fair. Looking forword to it being changed to end of round only. There was a test earlier on random players that couldnt see prestige for about a month. Not sure how rhat turned out

My hope for this is that they haven't hidden prestige in the lobby because they're reworking the lobby in some way.
There's no reason, after a 'limited test' on live servers, it should take this long to implement just the 'removal' aspect. The feature is directly available, just flip the switch and add it into the next patch already.
