The Huntress buff is the biggest bandaid change ever to come out of BHVR's offices. I'm serious.
Having so many other killers in dire need of a buff, you go and make a killer that's fair for everyone stronger?? Why?? This from a 4k hour bunny main. I play her in comp. I know her power's ins and outs, but I'm scratching my head right now. And not only that but you also miss the opportunity to fix glaring map design issues that affect Huntress and other killers?? Here's what the changes SHOULD have looked like, if you had just checked with people who actually play the game:
"The Huntress
Out of hatchets with no locker in sight? Or maybe The Entity sent you to a map with poor line of sight, making it difficult to line up a shot? To help her stay topped up, we have made the following changes:
- Increased the frequency of lockers in certain maps where locker dead zones may appear.
- Removed excessive clutter in certain maps to allow better line of sight.
[IF YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST CHANGE SOMETHING] The Manna Braid, Flower Babushka AND SHINY PIN Add-Ons – which increase the Hatchet wind up speed and movement while holding a hatchet– have had their effects very slightly buffed to give her opportunities to attack in busier areas.
These changes will also in turn help The Trickster and The Dredge, whose powers also depend on having lockers available in all areas of the map."
There BHVR, that's literally all you had to do. Instead in true Behaviour fashion you went "number low, so buff." Literally who asked for these changes?? Not to mention being aware of how many hatchets you have left or when to reload is also a part of the killer's skill ceiling!
Leave the Huntress alone, she is fine. So what do you need to do instead? Let’s see…you did notice not having lockers around is a hindrance, you did notice excessive LOS blockers is an issue for some killers in particular maps…c’mon devs...you are this close to getting it. Don't you see? The problem is not certain killers, it's the m... m... say it with me...the MAP DESIGN :D
Why is this so difficult to understand??
It's not even funny anymore.

She is pretty much perfect, the biggest problems of her aren't even her own fault, but poor map design, same as Dredge.
Couldn't agree more, everyone is getting annoyed by clutter and locker placements can be annoying on both sides, i use flashbangs a lot and would like to see more evenly distributed lockers.

I was just thinking about this, not quite a 4k hours vet but I have about 200-250ish (maybe more) hours solely playing her. More lockers in dead zones would be the most ideal, and for the love of everyone declutter the maps.
I hate being on haddon field and having to walk all the way into one of the houses just to get a hatchet.
It's like they don't consult with any of the people that have spent literal thousands of hours playing a killer ever. I mean for the beginner huntress's maybe this will be good but for the seasoned Huntress this is gonna be crazy.

That's true to better lockers and in more places would benefit survivors too didnt think about that

Indeed, quite a few perks rely on lockers and they counter aura reading perks. Its a win-win.

There's so many other killers crying out for some kind of buff to their base kits. But Huntress is the one they chose to give it to. Mind boggling.

Yeah tbh I don't dabble in survivor a lot but that being said it would also be a shadow nerf to uw which while small would still be a welcome step in the right direction.

Didnt BHVR say Trapper is fine in an AMA?
Everyone complains about Trapper being weak and overly relying on stalling perks, yet a Killer that is so good that half their players don't even bother picking any and go full aura reading (which is the Chad way to play Huntress) gets a massive buff.

Maybe show locker auras to her whenever she out of hatches? But yeah, i don't know why they decided to buff fairly strong killer.

That is a thing already, its just they are horribly distributed, it also hurts Dredge and survivors.

Those changes aren't terrible, but they definitely weren't needed. Huntress is a strong killer, she is fine as she is.

Even without saying if Trapper is weak or not - I cannot really imagine how they can say that Trapper is fine but then somehow come to the conclusion that Huntress is NOT fine.
4 -
They said Trapper had an okay killrate specifically, immediately before telling everyone he was going to get buffed, which he then did. People extremely badly misread that AMA question and it was extremely embarrassing to watch.
To the wider topic, I think this is maybe missing the context that the changes are designed to lower addon reliance? OP suggests buffing those addons when the whole point seems to be changing Huntress so she feels less dependent on those addons to perform well on certain maps.
I don't disagree with most things said about how to improve her overall but it does feel like people missed that context. Everyone on the list but Clown (and Blight I guess) was specifically being pushed to be less reliant on certain addons, and got some basekit buffs to sort of complement that.

Guess they are speaking of haddonfield and backwater or red forest where you are just like this sometimes.
1 -
Thats the thing. Huntress is map-dependent. Which is fine, it is ok when Killers perform on some Maps better and on some Maps worse. Many Killers have that.
And sometimes it can be hard to find lockers.
But those are basically the only issues she has. And the changes dont even help with those.

These changes are good and needed, for us console players. On PC this is a bit too much.

How are they good and why are they needed? If they fixed the maps you wouldn't care anyway.

Yeah those are pretty much my thoughts on the Huntress changes. Her issues have almost nothing to do with her power and everything to do with the insistence on adding a ton of unnecessary clutter and filler to maps. The changes don't help her on the problematic maps. They just reduce counterplay options on already favorable maps. Won't change the fact that the bushes on X map are knee high but have collision zones in the stratosphere.

She literally got two of her best add-ons, the wind-up and extra hatchets put into her basekit. I mean I don’t mind a small buff to her wind up speed but 2 extra hatchets also is insane.
0 -
I agree. If the issue is not enough lockers and too much map clutter, then we should be adding more lockers to the maps that need them and removing unneeded clutter. Giving Huntress more hatchets improves the situation for her but does nothing for Dredge who arguably suffers from bad locker RNG even more than Huntress does, as well as survivor perks that rely on lockers.

Wouldn't call those logs she throws "perfect". Huntress was more in need of nerfs than buffs and they just straight up gave her best addons for free. Just BHVR things.
2 -
Honestly if they addressed the locker disparity instead of buffing Huntress to make up for it, it would have fixed the problems with Trickster and Dredge as well. Especially Dredge, who has maps with very wide areas that have no lockers.

I genuinely thought that Iri Head and Pinky Finger were gonna get changed when I saw Huntress and Clown on the list for changes. Did they just forget about the issues related to godlike proxy camping? I think most people would have gotten over the buffs if that was degenerate garbage was addressed.

Hello Flawless it’s me again have in your 4,000 hours of DBD have you ever played against great teams on indoor maps? Are you 100% fine with indoor maps gutting the best parts of your power? You never ever have problems landing shots because ceilings, rooms, walls and hella windows on indoor maps? Genuinely curious because I don’t see anyone can say she is good on indoor maps. And considering this new map is going to be another indoor one I think the movement speed increase needs to stay. 77% is outdated and way to slow. You can leave the hatchets at 5 tbh.

Yes uninspired Buff, however I think making the wind up add-ons partially basekit to reduce the frequency of their use ( like deathslinger reload duration) is smart.
As you said she mostly needs a better map design, Dredge especially needs it.
