Nooooo , The Pig is being buffed
Comments
-
It's a nerf. Not a buff. Her chase power is still pretty bad because she's slower than survivors when crouching and the part of her power that was actually good got nerfed into oblivion. They removed any and all lethality that she had and even took away her ability to see the boxes' auras.
Terrible changes overall and it also takes away the most interesting aspect of her gameplay, which is playing around the traps.
12 -
i suspect her chase power will be oppressive zoning especially with add-on's. She's going be stronger then pre-nerfed billy cooldown add-on's. You'll just be able to ambush miss, ambush, miss, ambush, miss and then you hit survivor with m1.
0 -
Nope. That's not what will happen. Because Pig's ambush will be pretty much exactly the same. As long as you aren't in a very secluded loop, you can just leave. It takes her too long to even charge her ambush, so you easily make distance on her and get to a stronger loop. That's the same issue she has now.
If you're cornered against a Pig, then you're gonna get hit anyway with or without these buffs. This change only leaves her with a weak chase power and a slowdown mechanic that is not really good. The RBTs were good because you couldn't anything else but get rid of them or risk dying. Now they completely removed the lethality of her. Who cares, if you go for 2 unhooks, heal, do a gen, cleanse a totem, open a chest and then go to get rid of the RBT? The Pig will not stop you and you now have all the time in the world to do that. That's a gigantic nerf.

Im back from the shadowrealm (Elden Ring) and not for good reasons.
I have to quote the Boss im currently biting my nails out: "Tarnished? Why wouldst thou....why....?!!?". Its incredibly fitting on how these changes make me feel.
This is super bad. Im not exaggerating.
Lets start of saying, that the comment in the dev notes that this is a buff is not true. The overall strenght of the Pig will take a massive hit here. Her power level will remain the same AT BEST.
Lets start off with the good stuff:
- Longer ambush (2 sec. to 2.3 sec.)
- Faster ambush cooldowns (hit --> 3 sec. to 2.7 sec. and miss --> 2 sec. to 1.5 sec.)
- Faster stealth movement (3.6 m/s to 3.8 m/s)
- Faster crouching and uncrouching ( 1.3 sec. to 1 sec.).
To put this into perspective:
- Crouch movement speed with medical file: 3.959999 m/s (right now)
- Survivor base movement speed: 4.0 m/s
- Crouching and uncrouching with combat straps: 0,91 sec. (right now)
- Missed attack cooldown: doesnt matter because the player wants to hit. Otherwise, its just wasted time. Pig is not gonna use the ambush to block vaults or pallets
- Longer ambush (new effect)
All great! Great changes to make her a bit more viable in chase. Now where is the rest? ... No? Thats it?
Now to the nerfs:
- The Pig will no longer see auras of the boxes
- The bear trap timer is increased to 3 minutes.
I cant be the only one that sees this right? These buffs DO NOT OUTWEIGHT THE NERFS. Ever had the problem of the survivor just leaving the loop when you start to crouch? You think that problem is gone now? NO! Even with all her best addons, survivors will outrun the ambush. Due to the changes making NO ADDON completely basekit, this WILL NOT CHANGE! Im currently using medical file and combat straps every game. Both addons are give a better effect, than the one that will be on the PTB. Survivors still outrun me by a mile. These addons WILL BE NERFED AND THE BASE EFFECT IS NOT EVEN AS STRONG.
THESE CHANGES WILL NOT INCREASE HER CHASE POTENTIAL ENOUGH TO WARRANT THESE HEAVY NERFS!
30 seconds longer on traps now makes head pops almost impossible. They should not be happening every match by far, but they should also not be something that happens when the survivor has to clean their desk mid match because they accidently pushed over the Doritos.
The aura change just make her even harder to play because now i have to memorize box locations on top of all the other things. A completely unnecessary change that is supposed to nerf her head pop potential.
Both nerfs (especally the 30+ seconds) are COMPLETE OVERKILL! This makes her kill potential non eistant, therefore making traps less lethal, therefore makingh it even easier to play against her because there are 30 seconds more room for huge mistakes.
This match, i had recently is a perfect showcase of this and of why the Pigs traps SHOULD NOT BE NERFED IN THESE WAYS!
Pig on Garden of Joy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z06a3UullRk
THIS IS THE OPTIMAL NERF OT THE TRAPS:
- A survivor searching a box cannot die to the timer running out while searching the box.
PLEASE TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION!!!! It comes from overe 2200h of experience and seems small, but this change is huge for the lethality of the traps, while not being as massive as the changes proposed in the dev notes.
YOU WILL NERF THE PIG AGAIN! THIS IS NOT A BUFF.

The Pig is too jump scary 😨
0 -
Plz no hate Piggys.. we is the funz 🐽
Unless it's a black leather Pig... then run for your damned life.
0 -
I don't care what buffs she gets, just remove her stealth and Undetectable status. My heart can't take it. It's terrifying 😳
0 -
Game is already survivor side and they nerf already a weak killer. They need a buff her traps for example: They should activate immediatly after unhooking and timer should be 1 minute 30 second.
1 -
Okay that's a bit much. That would be a guaranteed head pop 75% of the time.
2 -
If remove her stealth ability and make traps more deadly it would be balance. Cause timer dosnt count while being chased. It rank her up to B+ tier killer
0 -
No, the stealth is very much a part of lore and kit for a reason.

A buff to her fun rate and nerf to her kill rate probably?
0 -
if she flying across the map like wraith it can be good but now her stealth is useless except for camping boxes
0 -
No it's not. Trust me, I am a Pig main, and only new players who don't know how to play her camp boxes.
1 -
she need a good buffs
0 -
so when her stealth is good if she is slower than survivors and her ambush makes big ROAR completly destroyed her stealth ability. I mean Ghostface is also 3.8 m in stealth but he can at least instadown people. And I also play Pig and camping boxes and actually see head pops is actually fun
3 -
I mean yea it can be but it's not fair gameplay and not what you should be doing, but hey thanks for being the reason she's getting her traps gutted.
1 -
Finally another Pig-Nerf! Who cares about a bit longer Ambush when your most important tool is nerfed heavily. At least they should give the Ambush the ability to break Pallets, then it would be okay.
4 -
Evidently most people don't understand how to play Pig.
Traps are not supposed to be a way to reliably kill survivors. Ideally they should only result in a kill when the survivor ######### up, not when the Pig stalks and harrasses the trapped survivor.
Traps are supposed to be slowdown. 12 box searches guaranteed, 12 seconds each, plus travel time. 144+ (typically double) seconds of guaranteed slowdown. One or more survivors at any given time that aren't doing gens. It's one of the best slowdown mechanics in the game. That's the value of RBTs, and that hasn't been changed one bit.
Increasing the time survivors have to remove their trap doesn't change how long it takes to remove the trap. Hiding auras of boxes doesn't change how long it takes to remove the trap.
If you're tunneling a trapped survivor you're shooting yourself in the foot.
It's genuinely hilarious how every time they buff the Pig (the last change to traps was a buff too, it made the slowdown more reliable), the playbase convince themselves it's a nerf.

As someone who regularly gets 4Ks before the last generator is done (and not through head pops) using an entirely end-game build that I joking call my "Perkless Pig" build, I'm pretty sure I know how to play Pig.
You are right, the last traps change was a buff, but this is not.
4 -
This change stops nothing of the sort. As a killer, you can always tunnel, no matter how many little tweaks and basekit perks bhvr throws in.
The only thing that stops tunneling are the other teammates intervening, and the killer either losing that one survivor they were trying to tunnel, or taking more interest in the other survivors.
Want some real advice, Behavior? Revert all the RBT changes you just made, keep the stealth/ambush changes, and remove that loud obnoxious growling noise pig makes when beginning an ambush. Then maybe it will actually be good.
0 -
remove that loud obnoxious growling noise pig makes when beginning an ambush
Don't you dare...
Noone is removing my oinks!
1 -
Sure the oinking is cute, but do you want to be cute, or do you want to be deadly and have an "ambush" ability that is actually an ambush?
0 -
I can make both work.
You can just decrease charge time, so I can be both deadly and cute...
0 -
Then you recognise how there is no nerf in these changes.

Pig is based off of the Saw movies, which are filled with deadly traps, and filled with people being scared of possibly dying to these traps. This new level of non-lethal traps feels like it’s just too far away from the source material.
When Pig was first added to this game, the traps were absolutely supposed to carry the threat of lethality. It’s just that over time, BHVR has shifted the traps farther and farther from lethality. But it’s not how she was originally designed, and it’s absolutely not thematic at all with her movie character.
4 -
This couldn't be any closer to the source material.
Jigsaw's traps were always fair and always had a chance to survive if you played by the rules. Unless you play like Amanda and screw yourself over.
Go out of your way to secure a kill with a trap and you screw yourself out of your own power.
0 -
If we really want to be picky, the source material shows that Amanda created unwinnable traps.
And even though it's fair to have unwinnable traps be DBD adapted to "threat of lethality", I think it's totally out of line to go from "un-winnable traps" to "un-loseable traps".
Also, Jigsaw's traps had a terrible escape rate, which is important to mention. And everyone's traps had people scared that they might die. But PTB Pig's traps don't really carry any threat or urgency, and they won't be scary, because they are so undertuned.
2 -
I don’t feel like it was necessary to nerf the traps… at all…
3 -
I don't understand the people above - why do survivor players tell me HOW I SHOULD PLAY as a Pig. Traps are Amanda's main strength, they delay time, they guarantee a stable 1-2 kills, they escalate the situation and make you nervous. Who will be made nervous by an M1 killer growling all over the map with guaranteed removable traps? If these changes come to light, I will delete the game without regret. Let the survivors run alone and shine their lanterns into the sky, because that’s all they apparently want
7 -
As a survivors, i liked the thrill of the rbts. Now i guess her power is just a joke. They better buff tempered timer
3 -
That's the thing the ambush "buffs" are a f'in spit in the face literally it rarely provides results and can be easily avoided an extremely miniscule buff doesn't justify the huge nerf
5 -
Behavior you promised in the LiveStream you weren’t going to nerf Pig and you did!
This isn’t right! Yall did the same thing with Onyro. You just buried it under 3 reworks so nobody would notice. 😩
4 -
As are the traps. Amanda comes from SAW. What is SAW about? The traps.
0 -
She can still tunnel, yes, but if she does that she's not getting any use from her traps anyway so the nerf surely wouldn't matter at all.
This change makes it harder for her to simply decide to check boxes and make it impossible for a survivor to remove their bear trap should she choose, which is miserable for survivor and can result in literally unwinnable games for survivors.
0 -
With these nerfs, i bet you willo not be seeing many piggy anyway. I for my part am heavily contemplating on continuing playing DBD as much anymore. I got invested because of Piggy. I play the game for this long because of Piggy. Now i see my girl getting nerfed AGAIN.
I have recently been enjoying souls like games and found out that im quite skilled in these types of games. Fist Sadako and now Amanda. If BHVR wants me to stop playing DBD, they pushing the right buttons for the last couple months.
3 -
Still disagree though, because even as a survivor playing against pigs, while the prospect of having to go and search boxes knowing the pig might just sneak up to me in the middle of it and ruin my day, it still felt exciting.
When you have a trap on your head, you are put into survival mode. You can't go full on bully mode or potato mode anymore. I have often prioritized getting the RBTs off, but not in obvious ways, like as soon as getting unhooked I go for the closest box. I have often got heals first if the trap wasn't already active, and gone for boxes further away first so the pig is less likely to find me.
With these upcoming changes to RBT, it just feels like there's no extra risk at all anymore. Literally just run to 1-4 boxes, do the skill checks. It is still "slowdown" as it has always been, but that's just it. Boring slowdown, and making an already weak killer weaker.
4 -
Didn't say that, I just said that I didn't rely on head-pops for every survivor. Doesn't mean that I go afk until they get their traps off. Being unable to see the boxes means less ability to try to stop anyone.
1 -
Yea, but they're buffing (barely) the stealth and nerfing the traps. So what point are you trying to make?
0 -
Borders more on the realms of "adjustment", shifting power from her traps to her chase potential as she struggles to close chases. The trap nerfs are rough tho
