Are devs fine with killers winning hundreds of games in a row?
I have never encountered any other pvp game where it's possible for even the best players to win hundreds of games in a row. There are killers going on these win streaks even while using no addons or perks.

I haven't confirmed it properly myself, but it seems that when a player with a winning streak as Sadako connected to the Asian server and played, the gate opened after just the third game.
When I heard that, I thought it was quite possible. This means that there is little awareness of the completion of generators among international survivors, and simply by overcoming this, it will be easy to keep the killer away.

Clearly, yes.

Mostly a matchmaking issue... Comp players playing against regular people will result in such things... The same thing would happen if some Korean pro sc2 player or Serral plays against your regular plat player... You could play 10k matches and you would most likely lose every single one of them...
The issue is just that there are not enough equally skilled people queuing for survivor at the same time they could matched with... Besides that since comp players usually don't play survivor in pubs they won't get matched even if they are queuing at the same time, as they mostly play customs they most likely don't have the same ridiculously high mmr as a comp killer who just won 300+ games in a row.

A comp player dominating the regular queue scene? to be expected honestly, its pretty common in asymms
19 -
yeah they are and it isn't healty

As a former Nurse main, I must say that seeing certain streamers (who I have nothing against btw) going on 1000+ win streaks confirms to me that this character is still broken, as 1000 wins should not be possible.
That being said, the people I see with massive win streaks are also running the sweatiest perks and addons and I don't really see no addon streaks that last long.
Overall I think streaks are unhealthy for DBD in general and I would like to see this kind of thing discouraged

U picking one player and see this as a proof that every killer player is doing win streaks with seberak hundreds of wins
pls get some knowledge into statistics
and if u really think killer is op and u can win every game: play killer and show us all how easy killer is ;)

Knighlight has a 500+ no addon no perk streak on Nurse... However I would say it is not so much an issue with Nurse as it is an issue with matchmaking not working properly, as I explained earlier.

Do I need to explain that if this game had a functioning MMR system that a 100 game win streak would be practically impossible unless you're the top ranked player in the world?
Recent comment I read on Reddit
"In October, I tracked my games on my main, the Singularity. Out of 291 games played that month, I won 287, I lost 2 and I tied 2. So, with the "old MMR", I had a 98.6% winrate.
In November so far, I played 178 games. I won 173 times, lost 3 times and tied twice. This means a winrate of 97.1%.
So, yes, my winrate lowered, and this will probably be harmful if I want to reach my personal best of 153 wins in a row again."
It's absolutely outrageous that this is even possible in a game that's supposed to have a functioning MMR system.

The amount of people that can achieve win steaks in the hundreds, let alone thousands, can be counted on both hands. 99.99% of players cannot do it, 99.99% of players will never experience it. The devs very likely don't care about it because it's not actually important. It's only ever brought up disingenuously as a way to say Killers, as a whole, are overpowered.
17 -
Fair, but it obviously does not have a functioning mmr system? But isn't that something everybody should know by now? No offense but I really don't see another reasonable explanation for such streaks...
The issue however is how do you fix it? There are obviously not enough players to queue against on the same level... So either players just cannot play anymore at a certain point because they don't find matches or this just keeps going... And since this would also impact streamers as free advertisers I don't believe that this will change too much.
3 -
You picked Blight though, who's (with Nurse) the only killer out of the 34 Killer roster who can accomplish this. So not the best example you couldve used
4 -
Picking comp players beating up solo queue with the 2 killers (Blight/Nurse) out of a 34 Killer roster who can consistently do this is not the best take
10 -
Yes they are its easy to do also.
1 -
The devs are fine with it hell alf is on a over 1k win streak

Also the video is 2 months old and Sadako was most recently changed just 2 months ago. This is likely a winstreak on her previous iteration.
But the game isn't being balanced over a handful of people who put the hours and practice into the game to secure such high winstreaks. If you see this winstreak and your first thought is that we should now nerf killers, you simply just hate people having more skill then you.
4 -
You can pick pretty much any killer, it won't make too much of a difference. Even the Twins have someone with an 800+ winstreak going.
9 -
I wouldn't say it is limited to only these two, but sure it is most likely not possible with any killer. However I think One Pump Willie did over 100 wins in a row as Myers if I remember correctly?
As for the killer choice I just think that it needs to be a killer that is strong and able to display the skill difference... Like you can be the best player in the world and you are still not able to do this on Freddy just because of his limitations... The character is unable to match up to how good the player is. I guess it should be possible on the top 10 killers.
Well regardless of that, the point stays, if you as a normal player get matched against a comp player you cannot really expect to win, technically the killer should not even matter because of the skill difference. Imagine how unbalanced the game would be otherwise if you had a reasonable chance to do so... I mean you are not thinking you could outrun Usain Bolt, win against Serral in Starcraft 2 or win against Magnus Carlson in chess either, do you? Or to say it in another way, some killers in this game are so bad that even with that massive difference in skill you still cannot consistently win as much as you should if it was balanced. (as a comp player that is...)
And to be clear about that, I'm not saying every killer should be as strong as Nurse or Blight, but I think every killer should be strong enough to win consistently against the survivors if you are (that much) better than them. Obviously not if both sides are equally skilled, but with a massive gap in skill of course it should be one sided.

Super experienced player + strongest killers + strongest perks + strongest addons + hard tunneling + going against queue. Of course there is no chance to win it in 99% of lobbies. That's why i think we should have ranked and casual mode in the game.
But to be fair, something like 100+ wins on B/C tier killers only shows how bad most survivor players are and how poor matchmaking are.
7 -
Best player in the world beats other players that are not best players in the world ---> killers in general are obviously OP
10 -
I often present the same challenge to people on this forum who probably never play killer and then come on here to complain about how much survivor sucks and how easy killer is. Nobody ever replies to show us their own gameplay to demonstrate how easy playing killer is.
5 -
I mean 4-man SWFs can do just as well in streaks.
8 -
People doing streaks could just queue up in the casual queue.
0 -
Please name one that has a 1000+ streak.
10 -
It's a bit unfair when getting 4 highly skilled players who can play at the same time and have no ping issues is much harder than one highly skilled killer. Of course there's gonna be more streaks, longer streaks and streak attempts overall. I still stand by the fact that a solid 4-man SWF bringing the best stuff each game can do just as well.
Yes, I probably shouldn't have worded the way that I did. I more mean that a really good 4-man SWF can have just as ridiculously high a win rate and give 99% of killers they go against no chance to win.
8 -
Pretty sure Clown has a 400+ win streak as well
5 -
I think the best team get around 100 wins or so. Right?
2 -
Are we really going to discuss the downsides of a system that doesn't exist?
0 -
So you agree that highly coordinated SWFs are extremely rare and that as a Killer you are much more likely to do extremely well over a long period of time in higher MMR?
6 -
They definitely dont. And tbh, i really dont care. Killer players are gonna do what they wanna do. Be sweaty, slug for a 4k, tunnel, camp; anything if they want to keep the streak going. Be it ruining a players experience or draining the spirit of an overall casual game
4 -
I think WimaTV got more than 500? Hens group got over 200... The first one got annoyed and stopped eventually because they got burned out of doing it.
Take into account that for a 1k killer streak only one person needs to ready up and want to play and can end games in like 2 minutes, however for a 4men escape streak you have a minimal amount of time the match takes unless the killer dcs to do all the gens and such, so not only is it more boring, it also takes more time to plan and win each match.
7 -
No, I think eternal did an escape streak like a year ago, however they brought 1 perk each and no items and got a comp Blight or something with the full setup... So I would much rather take Hens streak with like 230 wins in a row or so? Because they took perks, but no items.
4 -
SWFs do it too, its just less common because its harder to find 4 cracked players with great teamwork.
3 -
You're saying this like there haven't been survivor win streaks either, which are much harder to pull off typically cause it means denying the killer every single kill.
0 -
Any recent streaks after all the survivor nerfs?
1 -
Not really.
2 -
KNightlight will apparently do one starting this Saturday and Hens and his friends are also doing one, just not exactly currently, but it is still up, no clue when it continues... One of the players was sick the last time they wanted to play. I think they are at 130 currently and still going.
1 -
I wish both sides would stop using the top 5% of players to justify nerfing the other 95%.
13 -
Where is the comp survivor or the comp team who does that?
2 -
Why? When survivor come up with anything else apart from that, it is litteraly always "But we can not ballance the game for weak players".
4 -
I saw on YT win streaks with any killer (just type Killer name + win streaks).
I also saw one Trapper win streaks with no addons, no traps, no tunnels and no camping by V1rtual_Reality, but it was a Live on Twitch. I don't know if this content creator has a YT channel. It was very difficult, but he won 9 games in a row (if I remember correctly). Of course this proves nothing, but an experienced killer (V1rtual_Reality is a comp player) can dominate a good team in almost any situation. I don't think this guy is in a low MMR. He did this challenge because he wanted to prove killers can win without camping, without meta perks and without tunneling (in a normal non-competitive game).
This guy also has a "survivor" win streak with his premade but he never comes close to the crazy numbers we see on killers...all it takes is a nurse or blight with the right addons and perks to destroy his comp-team🤣
Maybe if Blight and Nurse didn't exist, we'd see some truly impressive survivor win streaks
3 -
We should balance the game around average players. Not the strongest, not the weakest. Some are so good or so bad that they should be regarded as outliers.
3 -
Yes it's fine because while these win streaks are impressive they're not that impressive because of the skill gap. I'd be much more impressed seeing these killers go on even a 50 win streak against other comp players then pubs.
Putting it another way, if you put me as killer against a decent survivor comp team I bet I'd lose 1000 games in a row. This also applies to basically any game ever if you take top players and put them vs casuals.
If the MMR isn't tight enough then this stuff will happen. The MMR is as loose as it is to prioritize speed as back when they were doing the tests, most people disliked the longer queues with closer matches and preferred the faster queues instead.
2 -
Even new killers are complaining the game is too easy now
4 -
New killers go against new survivors, and killer is way easier in the beginning than survivor is. This is completely meaningless.
I 4k'd with Trapper on my first DbD match ever, Trapper OP!!!
7 -
Hasn't it always been said that:
"Low MMR is Killer sided, high MMR is survivor sided"?
I mean yeah, when survivors don't know what they're doing of course killers will 3k-4k endlessly.
7 -
Would you expect there to be in the kind of game DBD is?
To end a killer's streak, a team of survivors need repair five generators and outplay presumably one of the best players in the world, who's probably using the best killers in the game, and is currently sweating enough to make comic con smell nice.
To end a four man survivor streak, the killer needs to pick Bubba and get a down in endgame.
The difference between what's considered a valid survivor streak and valid killer streak are so different that trying to draw genuine balance information off of it is fool's folly. There's a reason why even when survs weren't nerfed that escape streaks weren't very common.
2 -
New killers play against new suvs
u cant use that as an argument😂
new killer dont face suvs which are familiar with the game
4 -
Totally agree with this!!
I heard a well known streamer saying if BHVR nerfed the ability of killers to hard tunnel out survivors it would kill comp and I was thinking.... who cares?!
Most of the player base are not comp level players and I can only speak for myself but I personally have had many solo queue matches ruined by 'comp' players who play like they are in a tournament against 4 random casual solo players.
I literally do not care about balancing a single aspect of the game for this tiny segment of the DBD player base

What about mid MMR though?
