Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't there a bug that causes traps to float above slightly that prevents hiding traps in more vicious spots? Or did they fix that?

That said hidden traps are a part of Trapper's skill ceiling. Learning super hidden trap spots are part of what makes Trapper fun to learn, so it should stay. Plus, scary Trappers that hide their traps in crazy spots are quite fun to go against IMO, hate basement Trapper and would rather go against an actually offensive Trapper.

Because without that feature he were even more weak.

The Trapper in maps without grass like Eyrie of Crows have a guaranteed defeat unless survivors are bad enough. Also in closed maps he is awful, because the best places for putting a trap are also detrimental for you because make you transverse larger distances for surronding the traps and also very visible of course. The only exception is maybe Midwich.

To be fair, if you get trapped in a Trap while not being in chase, this is totally up to you. You can avoid patches of grass or at least be careful and walk instead of run. Because there is really 0 reason to get trapped when you are not in chase.

The only time I think Traps are stupid is when they are used in places where they clip under the ground. But there are no places like this anymore, at least none I am aware of.

When versing him I habe constant anxiety every single vault, lol, but that's about it. One misstep can spiral the game out of control, but if he doesn't manage to finish the deal, survivors can reset and that's most likely it.

I try to avoid the obvious windows like the shack and the place where he starts. Yeah windows are scary against trapper :D .

I normally just run by looking down the whole match so i dont step into random traps even though i always get caught by the randomest one that might be one he never even set but has the addon so it opened by itself.

Are we talking about traps that sink below the map and become invisible to the eye? There's currently a nasty one in a Badham Preschool doorway that sinks into the ground and disappears from view. Yeah, that's not meant to happen. When those get spotted, BHVR usually patches them out.

If you've found some new spots where this happens, you should submit a bug report.

Better question, why are the traps floating in mid air now?

Trapper doesn't have the ability to float in mid air, so this is a small buff gift from the dev team.

I once played Trapper on the eyrie, a they found our every single trap in the open map, ao I trapped the main building up under the roof and chased them over there.

I trapped one, downed another and trapped a third flashlight safer, spiraling the game out of control. This is the classic Trapper maneuver, and your only chance of winning on this map. I then chased the last, but one of the downed survivors had Unbreakable and picked everyone up.

That was my one chance for winning amd it slipped away. There was no second chance, the survivor saw to that. Had I hooked the three survivors one by one, the result would have been the same. Trapper often gets this one, big chance and either seal the deal or become the punching bag.

so little grass... the entity just hates nature.

trapper should just spawn with grass everywhere on the map. like how freddy has clocks.

There are spots where the trap will sink completely into the geometry but still trap survivors. I’m as killer-biased as they come but that kind of situation is grossly unfair and should be prevented. It’s not a skill to stick a trap a foot into the dirt or a rock and it’s not a lack of skill to get caught by such a trap either.

As a Trapper main, I can tell you

There are SEVERAL spots you can shove a trap into the ground still, and I find new ones all the time.

I wont tell you the exact spot(s)... but I feel like these are going to be patched pretty soon since the map is dated and will most likely be revisited soon, and thats Hawkins.

    Good luck friend :)
