Unfair Gameplay (Survivor)
I've been playing Dead By Daylight at least a year now. Never have I seen such unfairness until after the match I currently just played on Sun, March 24, 2024, round 11:00PM EST. My team was against Micheal Myers. We were all doing very well. Leon was taking most of the killer's eyes and the killer was having trouble catching them. We were down to at least 2 Gens and that's when Henzy (a survivor on my team during this current match) was instantly dead. Literally had FULL health and ZERO strikes!!
Now, with playing so many matches as a survivor main, I always seen that instant kill/instant down as extremely unfair but I've never took the time to show my frustration with how the developers of DBD favortise the killers. They get long ranged weapons, instant downs, instant kills, special moves, always able to catch up to the survivor no matter what, weapons in general, and charged attacks. Add a bunch of exposure perks and literally survivors have no chance.
The match I was just in, was so unbelievably crap, I had to stop everything and write this. After, Henry was instant dead, Micheal started chasing Leon again. Eventually, after we had 1 Gen to go, he was able to down Leon, which is fine, it's part of the game, right? Well, I was ready to save Leon whenever he gets hooked. Leon never got hook. Leon becomes instant dead. Two survivors in one match?! I was infuriated, how he was able to spam an instant kill two times in a 10 minute match.
Now, it's down to Me and the last survivor. Turns out, I get hooked and I'm there waiting for the last survivor to help me. Micheal was camping me, so the last survivor wasn't able to get me down from the hook. (Thanks for allowing camping of hooks btw -_-) She instead, gets downed, but as he is picking her up, I was able to jump off the hook, mind you, he was camping me on the hook, so he was immediately able to catch up to me and down me again. But before that, when I took a chance to unhook myself, he put the last survivor onto my hook. Obviously, because I wasn't able to get far enough because he was camping my hook, as I said earlier he down me shortly after putting the last survivor on the hook I was just on.
Turns out, the other survivor was able to unhook herself but again, because of the killer camping the hook he was able to catch up to her very quickly. However, when he catches up to her, she suddenly becomes instant dead.
My entire team got instant dead in like a 10 to 15 minute match. That is extremely overpowered. He already catches up to survivors, has a charge attack, and a spammed special attack that instant downs you but he also gets to spam instant dead? How is that not seen as overpowered?
Killers cry about survivors being able to use the vaults, so DBD developers don't allow survivors to spam the vault. Then, flashlights are completely useless if you do not have a chance to aim it and blind the killer. Pallets can be broken so you CAN spam pallets, but once they're broken, they are broken. You don't get another one unless you travel somewhere on the map, which by that time, the killer has already caught up to the survivor.
KILLERS NEED A NERF!!! Or help the survivors out a little!! No more guns or throwing knives and axes. If they must have long ranged weapons, then no instant down. If you insist on the instant down, then take away the instant dead. If killers have to have the instant dead, then make them a little slower. They have charged attacks. They don't need to be so quick if they can already use some sort of attack to charge at you anyway.
There has got to be a way for survivors to be taken seriously. Without any survivors, the killers would have no one to hook and then DBD is useless. Sure, survivors aren't survivors without the killer but the killer isn't a killer in the first place without the victims.
Please, consider the suggestions above. So, far as someone playing it for so long, it's almost disheartening to put so much effort and work into the game, ONLY for developers to listen to the cries of the killer.
