You underestimate the ability to make a killer take MULTIPLE health states per chase. If you're expecting the perk to just get you a free escape then sorry to be the bearer of bad news but thats not what the perk was designed to do. It's designed to buy you and your team a little more time and when used CORRECTLY does it's just extremely well.
It's not like the unhealthy perk it once was by allowing you to sit on a gen for 50 seconds in a killers face, get downed then start the chase.0 -
If DS is so "bad" why I'm seeing 2+ minimum in almost half of my games..
It's not that the perk was bad, it's people not planning their next movements after they use it.. basically people dont know how to use it and they expect the killer to stop chasing them..
Well survivors are going to be slugged if the patch goes live with the change.. even if you don't use it..

nah the perk is supposed to be for anti tunnel. They buffed it back to 5 seconds so its good now. Not asking for free escape just asking for something that helps with tunneling. It didnt do its job at 3 seconds. Since they buffed it, your points are irrelevant

Anti-tunnel doesn't exist. The word anti implies that it would literally be impossible to do without serious consequences. Removing someone early from the game has no consequences. It's more like barrowed time as its ACTUAL purpose is to buy more time for your team to do gens. Also you clearly never watch higher level play if people still bring DS in COMP which they try to maximise the amount of time they need in chase. The perk was still good at 3 seconds and not an "oops im gonna comp corner myself and now i can make it half way across the map LOL".

Like I said anti tunnel DOES NOT EXIST. It never did people just started calling it that without actually knowing what the word anti means. Anti-facecamp SYSTEM would be a good example. Under CERTAIN conditions face camping becomes impossible without some serious consequences with them getting a free self unhook.

I should clarify that I'm not too concerned with it reverting to 5 secs. 3 was kinda minimal and a large section of the killer roster could shrug that off with little to no consequence.
As a player who plays a lot of Myers and Trapper I may need to contend with it a lil more, but there are ways to do that and it's still single use and deactivates in endgame making the most egregious elements of its use largely attenuated.
The big kicker is having to contend with the 5 sec on multiple players. Especially with the current culture of unsafe saves being the norm due to built in BT and the players whom try to leverage built in BT to body block rather than escape. These I find are often the players that moan the most about being tunneled post game without an ounce of self awareness about how they created that scenario themselves.

Nope. It always remained a strong perk, just not as strong and brainless. Unsurprisingly, they brought back some of its brainlessness.

Technically, Anti tunnel exists in Ovrcome+LuckyBreak. Removing a killers agency to tunnel when they want to is, by definition, anti tunnel.
DS is more of a tunnel deterrent in theory that in execution is just a chase extender.
