The vast majority of players want to be able to disable the chat filter

Read the comments, almost nobody supports this draconian chat filter where you can't even type stuff like "gg", "lol", or "I killed you". This is a mature rated game yet the players are treated like preschool children who can't say something naughty. I think the devs don't understand that smack talk is part of pvp games and enhances the experience and can lead to funny interactions. If someone is too sensitive to handle chatting without censorship they could keep the chat filter enabled or just disable chat entirely. In addition console players would appreciate being able to use chat as well, there's no reason it should be disabled for them when other console games with crossplay have chat accessible.

The chat filter is just one problem. This is supposed to be a social party game but there's nothing to support that. Hindering the social aspect so much is damaging the game's potential. Like you can't even send messages to in-game friends. Imagine if the devs built upon the social aspect of the game like an LFG list, clans, friends list that you can communicate with, party up, in-game voice support for swf etc. It would allow real communities to grow.

It's the type of censorship you'd expect to see in a dictatorship and goes against the value of freedom of speech. Here are some phrases and words the filter has banned:

They spent money licensing some weird chat algorithm. It's doubtful they'll get rid of it.

The strangest thing is that sometimes it'll block words on your screen, but not your opponents.

I agree, it's pretty wack. Especially how console players being excluded from chat, no good reason for it imo. BHVR seems pretty careless about certain QoL elements to the game outside of gameplay. I find it strange how the mobile version has a lot more going on, like a world chat in the main menu.

Also, pretty funny how you can say all those words and phrases in their forums, but not in their game where Chucky's dialogue exists.

They should sue the guys because that thing just does not do its job.

Whilst feedback is always welcome, implying we go "against freedom of speech" really isn't and I do suggest thoroughly researching what that phrase actually means.
