This is getting out of hand.
Gonna make this very quick. Tired of the favoritism when it comes to Mikaela getting new skins too quickly(including other certain characters). I understand the bills gotta be paid, but enough. Last rift, she got something, then event, and now another rift skin.
Edit: Also nea and mikaela was just in the last rift and once again in this one. Like come on bhvr.

Absolutely love that Sable and Unknown both got shafted in the rift. Sable gets a shop outfit and Unknown gets nothing at all. Meanwhile Nea gets two deep rifts in a row and Mikaela is in basically every single rift. I was looking forward to getting something cute for my new main in this, but no, gotta keep the Mikaela simps happy.
Pretty good job.

Like I'm so serious. We fought so hard for other less played to get more recognition for new skins yet they are falling back on the same survivors. But at least I can save money tho.

Also nice to be a Meg Main and constantly never spend a dime on Cosmetics. 🤣🤣

Nea getting a second Deep Rift outfit two rifts in a row was certainly a choice. At least they did something special with Doc's being a set when giving him his second here too, but there are plenty of characters who barely have any rift cosmetics, let alone Deep Rifts. It's odd we have so many getting their second this quickly.

I agree. I understand it that the developers want more cosmetics for characters that players play often than for characters that have a pickrate around 1% (makes more money). But it's sad when a character feels forgotten while other characters get every update a new cosmetic (or two rift-cosmetics in a row like Mikaela and Nea). I really hope the developers will change this, so every players can get at least something new and be happy.
What really surprise me is that Skull Merchant gets so many cosmetics(she gets regularly new storecosmetic, has a Bloodmoon-cosmetic, and now a unique riftcosmetic). I like her cosmetics and I'm happy about it but players don't play her that often (and many hate her). According to nightlight she is on position 24 (below Knight). Artist, on the other hand, is also eating good in terms of cosmetics even though she has a low pickrate around 1% - I don't complain since I am an Artist main and very happy about it. Maybe it is easier for the cosmeticteam to create cosmetics for them than for other killers like Twins or Singularity. But for survivors, this doesn't work.
My guess: If the developers give The Unknown a tome, they have to give it lore which would result in information so the Unknown would become less unknown but known for us. It could also be that The Unknown gets featred in the upcomming anniversary tome with a new skin and they don't want to feature it twice. Another guess: Maybe the cosmeticteam struggles with creating new cosmetics for the Unknown because it is difficult to create something good/unique. I love Unknown and agree with you that it has so much potential but maybe this is easier said than done in the eyes of the cosmeticteam?

It's also about how easy it is to make skins for a character. Bhvr have been slacking and relying on character's that's very easy to make skins for. Legion, trickster, SM I can immediately think of and not many play them. If your playrate is down and design is too complex like dredge or singularity on the killer side, good luck getting anything.
But Unknown honestly has so much potential for skins given its lore, but I doubt they will think outside the box. It's what they unfortunately cannot do when they have a deadline to meet

Thing is, they did give lesser played characters more skins after the mass demand, and if they're falling back on the usual suspects then it's because people didn't buy the demanded skins. It would ultimately come down to the cosmetics department wanting to keep their jobs. If a company is spending time, money, and resources on something that's not turning profit then the employees (in this case, the cosmetic designers) will need to explain to their bosses why they should be paid for a job they're not doing well. At the end of the day, if Mikaela, Feng, and Nea are getting frequent cosmetics it's because they're profitable. We can argue that lesser known characters will be played more if they had better cosmetics but if that doesn't ring true on BHVRs end then we are out of luck

Yea. True on all that. But luckily for me. I don't have to buy much from this game since my main rarely gets much anyways. So in a way, it's nice that I can save money on other games.

What's crazy to me is that in the last year, Dwight, Nea, Mikaela and Yun-Jin have all gotten cosmetics in three of the five Rifts each.
Meanwhile, David's last Rift cosmetic was in Rift 11 and Elodie's was Rift 10. Rift 10 opened in January 2022 and Rift 11 opened in April 2022. It's been over two years since David and Elodie have appeared in a Rift.

Yup. I noticed that too. And they are so afraid to give newer characters recolors or even new skins in the rift that isn't their tome for some reason. The only newer OG characters that managed to be in following tomes that wasn't theirs was Tools of torment characters.
