Playing on Swamp maps doesnt feel like trowing a dice if I will slide or hit the object directly in front of me. So that's a good thing.

Thank you for removing hug tech while keeping the multiple bugs that negatively impact his gameplay. The two gimmick addons being made bad numbers perks was good too.
2 -
Please bring back old Summoning Stone and Soul Chemical. The changes to these add-ons were completely unnecessary.

Revert Soul Chemical and Summoning Stone to what they were before the PTB.
The problem with these addons on the PTB was not their strength (they didn’t even need to be nerfed), the problem was they were boring and lost the only things that made them interesting. The old effects were one-of-a-kind and fun to use. They shouldn’t have been reworked.

You bump way to easily on everything, just playing around shack or up and down stairs is such a struggle. The same goes for playing cow tree… not being able to slide on anything is just such a huge downside... Also collision on some maps is even worse and you bump easier than you did before.
5 -
More consistent collision feels very nice when playing as Blight, no longer having my rushes ruined because I slid of something. Now that there's less room to cheese hits, and Blight actually has to be good at bump logic, going against him will feel better as well.

These changes just make blight unfun to play. Figuring out what objects you ccould slide off of and what ones you cant was super fun and increased the skill ceiling considerably. By removing this feature it makes certain loops impossible to play around and makes indoor maps feel horrible. Super disappointed as this was a fun and interactive mechanic that made each game feel different but now Blight just feels boring to play and I have no real reason to play more than one or two games because they all feel the same.

Removing hug-tech was a bad choice

Change that makes me want to quit dbd. 3 years of learning killer, hundreds of hours wasted, just to throw it in the trashcan.
What we have in the end:
1) Blight became boring to play as. He is just force a pallet > give a hit on a way to the next one. Minimum mindgames, almost no cool stuff you can do with him now. Just a bump logic train. Probably rip to any Blight montages as well.
2) Blight now relies on a speed addons even more. These addons are literally his antiloop now (in the loops, where you still can somehow use his power)
3) Almost every second filler pallet now is impossible to play around, you just force it as m1 most likely. Insane decision just to lower skill ceiling for no reason.
4) Flicking near the object is almost impossible now, because Blight will bump into the object as soon as you will turn your camera at 15 degrees to it. This also makes him waste 2-4 rushes just to go out of doorways or some tiny textures you need to past without wasting rushes. If you really gonna kill this character like that, at least fix this point.
5) Blight without speed is too easy to go against now. He was one of the favourites killers to go against, but now it's even kinda boring. You just know he will never catch you in half of the loops and wait until he'll use m1.
6) Changes to Stone and Soul Chemical are awful. Just revert it. They were not even good addons on PTB.
And this is exchange for not slide few textures on some maps, instead of fixing this textures? No, thanks.
Sure Blight is still strong killer (but no way he is seconds now imo), and pure bump logic will help newer players to be even better Blight, but it's just different character now.
You guys should have said "Yo, Blight's Hugtech was a bug, but in the more than 3 years that he has been in the game, he has managed to become a part of his kit. We saw how ability to use hugtech made his gameplay more diverse, deeper and more interesting. We see how the players have made this an essential part of it, wasted time on learning to use it and we respect that." But seems like not in this universe.
It was a great time spent with you, my speedy boy, thank you.8 -
Here are my thoughts:
At first, I was worried he'd feel awful to play as without hug teching but personally to me he feels a lot better and stronger. It still is disappointing removing what made playing him fun and the collision hitbox is a little bit too big.
Why was Soul Chemical nerfed after the PTB? It was already weak in the PTB. Summoning Stone was also a strange change.
It's also disappointing the double fatigue bug is still a thing 5 patches later.
Double speed nerf needs to be reverted to help in chase now considering he can't hug most tiles anymore, otherwise, playing the sweaty and boring way will be the most efficient way to play him now.6 -
still needs fixing for the double fatigue bug and syringe bug. Otherwise this is a fine change
4 -
Thank you BHVR team for riding the game of this bug.
Please continue with the good work eliminating more and more of this things.
Also I don't understand people complaining they can't exploit a bug anymore.
It was a bug. You were cheating not too different from people who use external tools. You were gaining an advantage that was not intended.
If you spent years playing like that and now needs to "re-learn" Blight that's on you.5 -
everything they did basically buffs new blights and nerfs experienced blights
1 -
Pretty sure that was the whole point of this change tbh.
1 -
Removing hug tech was a terrible decision.
2 -
And? Blight was ridiculously OP in the hands of an experienced player. He was OP to the point where even against comp level survivors a 4K was the expected result. Pretty sure this is working as intended.
6 -
it probably is working as intended, since the intention was to screw over experienced blights and help inexperienced blight.
what they did is like making nurse into a 4.6m/s killer but removing one of her blinks. does it nerf the good ones and buff the bad ones? sure. doesn't make it a good change though.
2 -
al least a new player will not drop Blight because of his bad collision
1 -
Nurse's Blinks are her power.
Blight's Hugh Tech was a bug, so no. It's not the same thing.4 -
You bump super easy to the point where you bump even when you don't want to, so I would not be so sure about it..
4 -
its not about the hug tech
2 -
These changes made the game better.
2 -
the only map that this is the case is red forest
0 -
that is wrong
2 -
Please just revert the add-ons and leave him alone.
0 -
Thats a lie... You bump on basically every surface as soon as you look at it from a slight angle... Especially some corners from objects are extremely easy to accidentally get stuck on.
1 -
if hug tech, an in game use of intended collision mechanics, is cheating, then playing on comms with friends is absolutely cheating. should we remove swf then? You cant claim the issue was "gaining an unintended advantage" when swf with friends is, by definition, gaining an unintended external advantage. Not that I think swf should should be removed though.
1 -
Are you comparing an in-game option to a confirmed bug?
0 -
comms are not an in game option
1 -
Just because something is a bug doesn't always mean it's bad. That arguement never makes any sense.
It gave the character's gameplay depth, and skill expression while still being counterable since the player has to sacrifice line of sight to look down and hug the wall.
These "bugs" often get hard coded into the character in other games because it's a part of what makes the character feel unique. But this game over-coddles babies and people who are too lazy to learn the counter-play. Because complaining online is easier.
3 -
Bug needs to be fixed
End of discussion
3 -
not every bug needs to be fixed.
2 -
by that logic you shouldnt be able to go on the nether roof in minecraft.
0 -
By that logic looping would have been removed from the game...
0 -
Regardless of the hug tech blight is far too sticky, playing around tiles feel very not fluid.
2 -
removing hug tech in my opinion is like removing nurse's ability to look up and look down to stop blinks. the killer has less control over the ability.
3 -
Sure, in relatively rare cases a bug should be made an official game mechanic, hug tech wasn't that type of bug though.
1 -
No, but outside voice comms are endorsed by bhvr, while hug tech was always considered a bug. It just took them time to fix, doesn't mean they silently changed their mind in the meantime like some Blight mains kept insisting.
1 -
I see that like a double standard. I.E. some "cheats" are ok because bhvr said so while others arent. Assuming that hug tech is cheating/exploiting then its a double standard not to consider comms cheating. Not that I want swf removed game would die I like playing with friends etc etc etc. Hug tech didnt even give that much of an advantage (unless you mastered all the slide techs) compared to comms.

I agree that Soul Chemical and the Summoning Stone were really fun, unique addons before, and now they are boring. I REALLY hope that you give them back their original functions.
Also, could you please do something about the Blight's iridescent addons? The combo is way too strong.
0 -
Hug tech allowed you to bypass the intended counter to Blight in many tiles. The survivor might think "Oh, if I position myself here, he'll have a harder time getting a hit on me" but surprise surprise Blight just slides around the loop and gets a hit anyways (not always ofc, but very often)
Swf does give you more info at a faster rate, but it doesn't make the survivor run faster, jump over pallets, clip through solid walls or make you repair gens 2x faster when alone. So with devs endorsing it, definitely not an exploit like hug tech.
Also as someone who only plays solo q, there are many times where I'll get teammates that play like they're blindfolded the whole time, but also times where the whole team has a certain harmony, making plays that would definitively have many killers shouting "Swf!!!".
It's really not a magic strategy to outplay killers, all in all. Info is only part of the equation, if you're bad at relaying said info in a useful way, and if you're bad at everything else, swf won't help you win.
5 -
if the survivor doesn’t consider a possible hug tech, then that’s a skill issue
2 -
I’d say the amount of hits blight gets because of a hug tech is on average about 2 per match.
The amount of hits the blight loses because of bugs, bad collision and stuff like that is also about 2 per match on average.
But since the update the hug tech no longer exists and the amount of lost hits is probably about 4 per match on average. Should be easy to see why blight players are upset
1 -
I think only you is upset, his new collision is better than everthing, you can actually play fillers now, if you can’t do it, then it’s a skill issue
1 -
in what way can you play fillers better than before?
0 -
Pressing m2 while already touching something in a rush is 100% comparable to downloading cheats and flying around the map. A very genius and well thought out opinion.
0 -
They literally copy pasted the same code they use on wesker where he can't use his power too close to objects. It took them maybe 6 seconds.
0 -
Nah, you straight up lying. Experienced Blight's gets easy hits using hug tech, even if survivor expects hug it's guaranteed hit most of the times cuz Blight can easily catch up with bump logic even if surv guessed right and I'm not gonna explain broken tech like V1 which is also related to hug, ofc it's skill issue when survivor has no time to react most of the times. Good thing that trash exploit is gone
3 -
if the blight is so good at the game that he can do a hug tech and hit an experienced survivor without the survivor even having time to react then he clearly earned the hit
3 -
Lot of controversial things in the game that've been changed/reworked/removed that aren't coming back no matter how much people are coping. For every hug tech enjoyer, there's at least 3 haters. Rip hug tech 2024.
I suspect oni 180s are next and some people will say "I guess they want us to play nurse with 4 slowdowns". Lol.
I've only been playing since 2017, so what do I know.. But I think there's also an inevitable nurse rework just waiting to happen after it's all said and done, and I'm curious as to when it will happen.
