Please, BHVR, Rework Michael.
Despite what this title might sound like, I'm not about to go on a multi-paragraph rant about how Michael is OP or anything like that, in fact it's because he's not that good that I want a rework.
Michael simply got left behind, and I feel like this hurts him on both ends. Every match against a Michael is the same two things with little variation, inf tier 3 and tombstone. Yes it's entirely dependent on add-ons and I know it's all Michael has going for him in the current state of the game, but that's my problem. I want more out of him than his insta-kill gimmick.
I think he's boring to play against, you always know they're going to be running inf tier 3 of Tombstone, MAYBE tier 1 scratch mirror but very rarely. I don't enjoy playing against him not because he's OP or game breaking, but because it's the same thing every time. You load into the match knowing if your teammates feed Michael stalk you're going to get punished for it, because he's absolutely running inf tier 3 or tombstone. It's stale, it's boring, but understandable.
His base kit is so weak on its own that he NEEDS his add-ons and perks to be decent, and I would love to see a rework for Michael that makes him viable outside of his add-ons. I think reworking him would allow for better skill expression on both ends of the spectrum, Michael mains could comfortably experiment with builds, and survivors wouldn't have to do the same cheesy strats vs his tombstone or inf tier 3.
Any input would be appreciated, do you think the game left Michael behind and you'd like to see a rework? How would you change his power to make him more viable outside of his add-ons?
I love analytical breakdowns on this kind of stuff.

This was before I picked the game back up so I must have missed this, I really hope they do him justice and don't pull another Twins stunt.
Fingers crossed!

After seeing what they did to Sada-no and their proposed changes for Twins that they, thankfully, walked back on, I’d rather they leave him alone.

Michael does not need a rework
He is awful and a bottom-tier character that the game has left behind… and that is ok he is a licensed character that perfectly fulfils the fantasy that is playing as Michael Myers for fans of the Halloween franchise. I recently had a friend who's a fan of Halloween get into the game and when he did they kept saying how much he loved him, and BHVR did him justice, and how his power was perfect for the character.
If a licensed character is not trying to be a good character but is trying to do right by the character as long as its not a pain for regular players to play against and harmful to the game's health then I'm fine with them being trash.

Michael can stay faithful to his identity as a character without comprising his competitive viability. There are a number of ways to add to his kit that keeps his core power intact.

Dear BHVR ... Please tie up survivors, nerf all their perks and give us one button to push for a 4k.
Thank you
Geeesh

While pessimistic I honestly still think that's completely fair, because I'm also sad about Sadako and Twins.

What are you talking about???

I acknowledged that he's bottom tier, that's exactly WHY I think he should get a rework. Players who start sinking more playtime into him will quickly realize their fav has shockingly limited ways to play optimally, and I would appreciate for both sides of the game that to not be the case, allowing for more interesting matches between both parties.
Yes this exactly. I don't want him to change fundamentally, I just would like some adjustments to make him more flexible and dynamic to play as and against. I think that's a pretty fair request as someone who plays both sides.

Absolutely, I would love for them to finally bring him up to snuff with modern DBD. Of course wanting a rework could always be a monkeys paw idea, and we end up with a worse version of Michael, but as someone who plays both sides I just want him to be more dynamic and flexible in his gameplay for both parties.

I have no idea what you're talking about, nowhere in this post did I propose such a ridiculous idea.
If you're not interested in analysis and good faith discussion, please take your snide salty remarks somewhere else.

He needs to stalk faster the further away he is. Not only does this make sense for actual stalking but removes the awkward gameplay of him running up to you and then starting at you. He shouldn’t run out of stalk either. Tier 1 does not need the moment speed penalty and should take 2 seconds to get out of. His tier 3 should be a button press instead of 99ing it. Tier 3 he should do EVERYTHING faster not just vaulting and bigger lunges. Get rid of tombstone piece but keep the full tombstone as is and let him Mori out of lockers. Even with those changes he would hardly be better. I think honestly he needs a secondary ability where he can catch a pallet to stop it from coming down and swing through it but not making it an insta down even when in tier 3 and obviously a pretty big cool down.

I think Michael idea is cool. a killer that grows in power over-time to become unstoppable force. Unfortunately, i find that his tier 3 does not feel like a special ability outside of tombstone. The idea of stalking someone and mori is good but I can't help but feel that gameplay for survivor has minimal depth.
there is not enough that survivor can do to manipulate mori in their favor but a lot that Michael himself can do to manipulate the mori in his favor. His PWYF perk grants him 15% haste after losing obsession. This typically happens very early into the match. From this point on, Michael moving at 130% is able to force stalks due to his brilliant speed. You can like backrev a survivor, stalk them, they break line of sight, back rev, stalk. Once you've stalked enough you can instant kill any survivor out of position. Survivors are poised to jump into lockers at some point to delay his mori however once he hooks someone, he is incredible at proxy camping and… face-camping for that matter. there is not a lot of gameplay component for survivor to prevent his mori. It just sort of happens automatically. Low game substance and surprisingly easy to pull off after a few games of practice. Some player label it as strongest in the game.
After that, you have regular Michael that is pure m1 killer with some fairely irrelevant power-ups? You get like tier 1 bamboozle in tier 2 and 16 meter TR for worse early game. Not much of power-up. In tier 3, you lose 16 meter TR for instant downs and tier 3 bamboozle. Considering a big portion of survivor gameplay is being injured, the instant down does not phase anyone beyond proxy camping hooks in classic leather face style nor does fast vaulting. Overall, I don't think he feels like an unstoppable force in tier 3. More of just proxy camping machine. The blood circle event this year was a bit more interesting for Michael. His tier 3 in combination with blood circles was much more potent. I'd like to see something like that for Michael where he's a lot more menacing to play against in chase. That would make Infinity EV3 a lot more of a fulfilling escaping. I think his mori should be somehow integrated into his kit but I am not entirely sure how they could morph his mori into more skillful mori that requires earning and dedication. Maybe it is something like you can stalk survivors in tier 3 which progresses a separate tier 4 meter where he can mori when full. Perhaps skill-cap of Michael could be something like optimizing his tier 3 to get downs while progressively building stalk enough just before he downs them. Either way I am not sure what they will conjure up as an update for him.

Mintskull had an idea that i really like.

Nothing wrong with Michael's base design. Just make the "juice" of survivors slowly fill up back, that's it.
2 -
Yes! He should be able to fertilize bushes as well, especially mine! 👁️👄👁️

I would agree there's nothing wrong with the fundamentals of his design, mostly the part I want reworked is what's given to him for stalking and maybe speed up how quickly he stalks or let him stalk survivors infinitely, instead of the current finite amount.
If I could I would experiment with the game parameters myself and see what it's like, but I do think a version of Michael that progressively becomes more of a monster in chase as he ascends each tier could be really fun. Faster vault speed, scarily longer lunge range, reduced stun time, reduced break time, ect, just this unstoppable (not literally unstoppable) monster.
And with him ascending each tier faster than before, he wouldn't be waiting the whole game to get value out of his power.

Great video honestly, hits the nail on the head why Myer's stalk makes little sense thematically and also accurately points out his weak spots in current DBD.
Every single one of his proposed changes I think would make Michael way more dynamic and flexible, I think players could reasonably experiment with builds on him, and the changes to base kit Tombstone no longer punishes you for playing well against Myers. The custom animation for the locker mori could also be super cool, and Michael becoming more of a menace as he progresses between tiers is perfect.
Honestly I would love to play AS and against this version of Myers.

Thats true, but reworks should only be for things that need it because whenever you rework a character you are likely going to be changing it for people the way it already is.
Michael doesn't need it to do what the character is trying to do for fans of his franchise and he is not something that most people have a problem facing. Not only are there bigger fish to fry but Michael is not really a problem and from what I know is quite liked by a lot of newer players so I don't think he should be changed.

I love his add ons those should stay even if he gets buffs. Maybe tombstone piece has to go probably. First buff what he needs is never run out of stalk permanently that is ridicious. His tier 1 should have normal lunge and 110% speed. Tier 3 should definetely be more threatening as well.

Michael is often considered one of the worst characters in the game and is also one of the most frequent requests for a rework.
He doesn't need a major one, but off the top of my head.
-Moving Faster in Tier 1 and maybe extend the lunge. He should still be slower than average, but he's so sluggish it currently feels awful.
-Tier 2 could use more to make it interesting as it's the tier you spend the most time in during most matches. Maybe a passive ability of sorts could work.
-Rework stalking so you're encouraged to do it from a distance, as the current way it works incentivises just walking up unstealthily and pressing the button. Not very faithful to his character.
-Minor addon pass to balance some of his more ridiculous ones out. Tombstone has been broken since literally ever. Aside from that he's actually got some of the best designed add-ons in the game imo, as they all encourage different playstyles.
-Regain Stalk Points after awhile. Shouldn't be too much as to discourage tunneling, but Michael shouldn't be the only killer without a power after enough time has passed.
Would all these make him more competitively viable? Yes. Would they compromise his faithfulness as a character, I don't think so.

Why should we be catering the character balance towards just new players, or fans who think he's fine? A lot of your argument for not changing him relies purely on anecdotal and pointing out there's other, worse, issues. However this is a forum, where multiple things can be discussed at once, and I am catering my thread to something I think needs spiced up to modern DBD standards.
Newer players are not where the discussion for character balance ends, nor fans. I know plenty of Halloween fans who play DBD that also wish Michael was a higher tier killer, or at least not bottom of the barrel. Does their input not count? They're also fans, they should get a say in it as well.
Nobody wants their fav/main to be D tier and weak, I'm in a similar boat with Sadako atm. She's cool, she's faithful, but I want her to be more than an M1 killer with an easy to counter gimmick, Michael should get the same respect imo.

Newer players are where Michaels's relevance ends. He is clearly a character made for them with them in mind.
Not every licensed character can be good. Hell not every character can be and its fine for characters to be really trash as long as they are fulfilling a role while doing so, that can be offering a unique playstyle like Trapper or going full fanservice like Michael.
To be blunt he fulfills his role in the roster perfectly, id argue the only way to make him better would be by allowing him to play the game at a faster pace kinda like how @ArkInk s post recommends buffing his first tier which does compromise a little on what he is supposed to be. imo

These posts are all about making killers stronger. It gets old. Survivors have nerfed perks and it gets old. Even the new characters have pretty much useless perks. I play survivor and get hit with something crazy and like....whoa what is that!!! Oh that's a cool perk. Here though anything good gets a big crying show that it needs nerfed. I lost to show you how old it gets seeing the same posts to buff killers over and over and over again.

Yes, this post is about making one of the worst killers in the game better, for both sides.
I already explained this perspective as someone who plays survivor AND killer in my post, which I'm going to just assume you didn't read at all.
This is not a place for you to vent about your experience in solo queue, I am only interested in discussing tweaks to Myers so he is more fun for both parties to play.

Thoroughly irrelevant to the matter at hand. This is the topic of the post, if you want to make a post about what's on your mind, you are more than free to do so.
If these killer buff requests are so common, it might be because some killers need them.
