Killers complaining about survivors quitting
Doesn’t anyone else think it’s really interesting that, for the most part, it’s killer-mains complaining about survivors quitting instead of survivor mains complaining about it.
I think this is very telling. Survivor mains seem to be way more understanding about survivors quitting even though it affects survivors way more than killers.

It’s a simple concept. The game is not enjoyable on solo Que side. You have tunneling from killers and trolls as fellow survivors.
36 -
do you have any valid way to proof that or is that just an empty statement mend to start an us vs them
71 -
When I play survivor, I complain about my teammates giving up immediately.
Fact is people queueing up to play DBD want to play against other people. People quitting out immediately without even trying is not fun for either side.
42 -
Killers want to enjoy their power trip. Survivors giving up does not support this.
35 -
I see people on both sides across multiple topics complaining about this.
Some really strong biases coming forth as of late from various people, spinning whatever narrative they want.
No surprises, though, really - same old forums, same old users.
31 -
Not a killer main, I play both at a split of 55/45, usually in line with bonus rewards, and whether I'm Survivor or Killer I get very annoyed at survivors quitting.
In fact I get far more annoyed about it as Survivor than I do Killer, to the point where if I'm playing killer and someone quits, I will usually play out the game and let survivors who don't quit go.
This is just inflammatory nonsense, and if I wanted to say something equally as narrow minded and click baity, I would say anyone who defines themselves as a "Main" is almost always biased, and their opinions aren't worth listening too. If you disagreed with that statement, that's what us vs. them posts like this sound like.
13 -
solo queue is just awful
between the lack of comms, lack of teammates actually doing gens, lack of teammates generally playing efficiently (not doing totems, chests or spectating chases), your average tunneling killer and your average PR/POP/GE game, solo queue is such a draining experience that GGing. Seeing PR/POP Blight going for the tunnel 2 minutes into the game tells you that the outcome is decided.
it doesn't help that simply loading into a game takes so damn long that you feel like you need to maximize your time
13 -
Huh lots of people who play solo survivor have been complaining about it for a long time
17 -
You know, I thought DC in any online games are hugely despised by players, but apparently DBD doesn’t.
In DBD Survivors actually start justifying DC just because matches don’t go their way.
See Killers you don’t like? DC. Noticing Killers bringing Meta Perks? DC. Get caught first? DC.
I mean, what the hell is happening here??
27 -
I don't know why people are upset I would rather have the bot as my teammate than some crybaby who nopes out of every game, What really grinds my gears are the people who suicide on hook and force the game to be a 3v1 instead of just DC
6 -
they aren’t dcing they are just losing on hook then going next. When I played killer side more I thought it was odd. Then I tried solo survivor and I get it. You have to deal with trolls and tunneling. It just makes playing survivor not worth it without a group. This is a huge issue.
7 -
I'm complaining about it the more I play survivor actually.
I'm escaping these 'impossible' killers half the time and don't understand the mentality.
13 -
The same for killers who lobby shops
They see a swf= they dodge.
They see p 100s.=they dodge=
they see ttvs specially p 100s=they dodge.
like survivors they get a map that do not work with their killer or ruins their idea=they dc before or during the match
survivors last min switch to another character from p 0 to 100=they dc before match even loads
Survivors switch the things like 4 flash or strong tool boxes light to avoid lightborn/franklins last second=dc before match start
They get looped or outplayed in a way by a good survivor solo que or swf=they dc
Last the fact at least killers have the luxury to lobby shop is not even fair cause survivors cannot do that, maybe if survivors know what killer they was going up against it probably be less dc.
The fact killers are able to see what survivors are bring lightborn/franklins is crazy , if perks was to a random gamble why does show survivors items so the killer can easily know oh ill go franklins/lightborn?
But ofc its always just survivors who do it right? Killers also try to justify why they dc as well which is all of the petty reasons above I listed.

Great news everybody, your teammates don't mind if you quit mid game.
4 -
You're not wrong but this thread definitely won't (and isn't) going to go down well given the current crowd.
Feels more and more like an off-shoot of the Reddit tbh.
0 -
Well as someone who plays both sides, though I've been playing a lot more survivor lately, let me be the one to say:
People who quit mid-match suck and I hope they are constantly stubbing their toes.
25 -
I don't see anything wrong here what do you mean? No insults and nobody seems to be angry, how is the thread not going down well?
4 -
Ruthless
4 -
There are some crimes too heinous to allow leniency
3 -
Yeah. Definitely. Because everyone loves playing solo queue and immediately losing the game in the first 20 seconds because some dick disconnected.
22 -
Because DbD is not "just any online game". You can't even compare it to anything else. There is not a single game out there where the general state of "ridiculously unfair" became the norm to be tolerated. Most of the games where DCing is frowned upon by the community are not even asymmetrical, let alone not so imbalanced or frustrating.
3 -
I honestly wonder what is wrong with people like you. This bitterness towards one side of the game is just really sad to be honest.
I am not even sure how one would determine that it's mainly just killer mains who complain about survivors giving up. But nevertheless, believe it or not, people just like to play out matches properly, without having people give up somewhere during the match.
This us vs them is just so pathetic.
27 -
If this is true, it's simply because survivor mains are all too aware of the issues plaguing the role. So we get it. As for me, I don't complain because I don't see it very often at all. I've played quite a bit over the past few days, since the update, and had one team mate give up on hook but it was on Haddonfield, we were at 5 gens, and everyone was dropping like flies. It was their second hook and they just didn't hit the skill checks. I understood, and just let them go. Game was over. I'm always suspect of killers who claim to see it every game. Big chance it might be that they play in a way that makes others not want to play with them.
4 -
It's quite interesting how people blame literally everything for "killer main" concept, even if the logic is ridiculous and purely made of bad faith assumption with no real proof
I mean it's nothing new, this is the game where playing for win will be considered "toxic" somehow, no wonder people gonna justify something that majority of PvP gamers would despise
6 -
It was the case for quite some time already that mainly Killers complain about Survivors not being able to suicide on Hook or stuff like that. You see obvious Killer Mains posting this. You dont see that many Survivors complain about it (granted, this Forum is very killer-sided and I guess if you go on reddit or twitter, you probably see more Survivors complain about teammates suiciding because there are more Survivors).
But as Killer, it should not be relevant - in the end, they achieve their goal. And the sweatfest I encounter ingame should not really show that Killers dont want to win. And a Survivor suiciding does a lot for them to win the game.
So my assumption is that they lose points and it does not feel as good to win a 3v1 than it would be to win a 4v1.
This thread is not about SoloQ. It is about Killers complaining about suiciding Survivors.
10 -
And the purpose of this thread is?
9 -
The reason you don't see as many survivor complaints about this here is that because the survivors here ARE the ones DCing constantly. Why would they complain about themselves? Anytime this is brought up it's the same thing "it's not my fault, just remove the penalty so I can keep doing it, blame the devs/killers, why shouldn't I DC?" etc.
As some who plays both sides, it is FAIR worse to have a survivor DC on your team than when it happens as a killer player. It's the main reason I haven't played this game that much recently because it's just miserable having teammates give up at the smallest inconvenience.
12 -
No other game forces you to sit and do nothing for the majority of the game to the same extent. You do gens, you do nothing, you sit on hook, you do nothing, you get bled out, you do nothing. It is a bizarre case of not playing the game in order to play the game. The only time this is an issue, is when the match is set up for you not even have a chance to 'play' and be forced to 'not play' for the entirety of the match. That's why people give up, they quit the game so they can actually play the game.
As far as Killers you don't like, yeah most games like this have bans to avoid the disgusting extremes, its crazy to think we still don't even have as much as a Killer repeat prevention. As far as Killers bringing the sweat, yeah if you didn't bring the sweat, the game is so poorly managed that the loss is already a foregone conclusion. Get caught first, that's usually what people want, but if you see an AFK with crows and/or nobody on gens, then once again the game is so poorly managed that there is no point in continuing.
There needs to be better comeback mechanics so both sides always feel like they can play. Old Hatch was a great comeback mechanic, but some others could be gen regression ceasing to function after a kill, and NoED being basekit if you reach endgame without a kill. That way everyone always feels like they have a chance, and always have a reason to play.6 -
I honestly don’t care at all if survivors DC tbh. Sometimes they DC and I laugh because it’s sad why they left but sometimes I’d dc if I was them too. I just feel bad for the other survivors in the lobby who aren’t throwing a temper tantrum because things aren’t going there way. They just want to play DBD and can’t because there team mates are throwing a fit. That’s why I main killer, survivors are way too wishy washy; dc’ing at the slightest inconvenience.
1 -
because killer players understand the trouble for the team having one player leaving prematurely, while the survivor leaving doesn't care at all. SoloQ thing
7 -
he's not wrong when you play as a survivor and some one on your team dc/kill themself on hook it does affect them too if they wonna play the game witch is vicious downward spiral the core fundamental of the game need to change verry few ppl are enjoying it anymore unless it's under certain conditions the power creep has made the game too volatile
0 -
In SoloQ, there is no such thing as "team". Your "teammates" are more often than not more dangerous for you than the killer, sometimes even cooperating with the killer to lead him to you and kill you, taking hatch as a payment from the killer. I never had to hide from the killer as much as I regularly have to hide from a teammate who is trying to lead the killer to me. Even MMR does not count survivors as a team, for MMR it's literally 1v1v1v1v1, everyone for themselves, it's not even a joke. So why should soloQ players care about their opponents when they play free-for-all? Until this situation is fixed, there is no point even talking about "team" in soloQ.
3 -
this is not about the game, but about the mindset of players lol. You can actually play with some quite decent team that literally play as mid level SWFs.
4 -
The killer cares more about the survivor experience than other survivors. /s
Both sides are complaining, but people with survivor shades on are the main ones trying to say it's ok to do and make excuses to blame it on anything else but the survivors being entitled and selfish.
On the killer side, you can't really play the game. On the survivor side, you can't really play the game and you lose. Both sides are rightfully complaining about it.
I've seen plenty of players who play survivor complaining. More than killers or at the least just as many. Not sure where you're seeing the reverse.
Which makes sense, at least the killer gets a win. The survivors just have to deal with the L their own teammates just thrust upon them because they didn't like how fast they went down or because a killer from the 60% of the roster they dislike got picked.

Well, it is partially about the game. The hatch mechanic, and the fact that MMR only counts your personal escape, separately for every survivor instead of giving the win or lose to the "team" as a whole, as it's done in team games, proves that the devs incentivize such mindset. One might say that altruistic players who are ready to risk themselves in order to help teammates are playing in opposition to how the game was intended, since they risk losing their MMR by helping the team.

Lobby dodge is not as worse as DC. It just takes a bit more time for you to find a match.
But DC is completely different. You load into a match, Survivors noticing it’s Nurse, and one of them DC rightaway. This ruins the experience of all 4 remaining players in the game, wasting everyone’s time.
For Survivor, it’s basically 3 vs 1, which means the game becomes very unfair for them.
For Killer, it’s no fun at all when you’re playing a game that you know your opponent has basically no chance of winning.
If you actually think DC is okay, then I hope anyone who got matched with you straight-up DC in first 5 seconds, forcing you to play the game with 3x bots every single game. HAVE FUN.

I would downvote this post if i could.
These types of discussions don't help the game. They only create more divide in the community.15 -
I dunno - There's always some pretty interesting 'mask off' moments by 'neutral' players in topics like these ;3

What a complete joke, I've never heard a killer complain, I always hear them mock survivors for quitting though. People are complaining left, right and centre that survivors are either dcing or suiciding on hook. You don't hear it as often anymore because a large portion of solo survivors have quit the game, now it's mainly swf playing.
2 -
I don't judge anyone on either side too harshly for noping out of a match if they're not having much fun. I play both sides (60% Survivor / 40% Killer, though I do play more Survivor these days) and I've had bad enough experiences that made me want to walk away from the game for the rest of the day.
I'm not proud, but I've been "that guy" more times than I'd like to admit. Usually, it comes after a string of horrible games, so I assume that's also what's going on if a teammate or Killer decides to call it quits early and I don't begrudge them too much for it. I've been there.
1 -
Big difference Lobby does not equal in game
2 -
For context if I play survivor I get downed literally 18 of 20 games first. So also I’m not good at looping. That’s why some get frustrated. Adjust and that’s how
1 -
Have you read where I say when a killer is being outplayed by a survivor whos good at looping or mind gaming they dc? Have you seen the part where kill dc just like survivor if they do not get map they wont like? Let me add this one let me and my 4 swf(load in with distortion) killer have lethal see no one and dc(blight/huntress being the common lovers of the perk) its so funny when I say blight or huntress its literally them and my chat gets a big laugh out of it all the time on stream cause they dc expecting they was going to get some fast early down.. Sure other killers may run it but those two is 90% more likely to be the ones who have it.
I do not dc on nurse, I find other killers way more annoying like brain dead skull merchant/spirit. If i get whoop by a good nurse I understand because she is 50/50, either a god one or a baby one.
Also I swf only in this game now so umm yeah that solo que dcing=dont affect me good try there. Some killers I am sure love when a survivor dc because they pick the most sweatiest builds/add on and killers and its not because of no swf. I seen some people (wont mention names) who literally make youtubes and admitting like oh hey today am here to play x killer with this perk/add on build and make survivors really angry specially if they are streamers to get reactions from them. Like how low can one go to do things like that?
Killers do not care about survivors so the whole 3 v 1 excuse do not work. If killers care about survivors they would not make one million topics a day asking for survivor perks to nerf that makes the game a challenge for them. Killers are the one literally killing the game. Killers will dc for things like(constant being blind save/head on/cant catch a looper/breaking their devour hope early, body blocks/sabo. You cant tell me that does not happen now.
3 -
It does not matter its still annoying and wastes people time who wants to play @Marioneo
1 -
I play both sides but mostly Survivor, and I really wish people would stop letting go on hook. Especially when they do it so quickly. I guess it's possible that some of them have lag and I just don't know about it, but it seems like a lot of them give up because the first two minutes of the match didn't go the way they wanted it to.
And, if you immediately quit as soon as the match isn't going the way you want it to, you miss the opportunity to learn how often you can actually recover from a bad start. You just go the rest of your life believing you can perfectly predict what would have happened if you stayed, when actually you can't.
This weekend has been especially bad for quitters — maybe because some people are having lag issues, again — and I can report that in probably 85% of the matches where two of my teammates bailed right away, the killer just farmed with the rest of us. Most of the people I've been going against don't WANT to make everyone miserable. Just saying.
2 -
Why are you bringing your own experience to the table? I'm talking about the general playerbase, not you specifically.
Besides, you were talking about Killers lobby dodging, and compared it to Survivors DC in match. So why suddenly talk about Killers DC now?
In any online PvP game, DC is just not okay and shouldn't be encouraged at all. This goes for both Killers and Survivors. If you don't agree this, you shouldn't play any online game.

The game's sale description says you can play either as a lone wolf or a team.
"Survive Together… Or Not
Survivors can either cooperate with the others or be selfish. Your chance of survival will vary depending on whether you work together as a team or if you go at it alone. Will you be able to outwit the Killer and escape their Killing Ground?"Per MMR, it was changed not long ago that the result of team mates can influence your ranking. You get better MMR gains when team mates escape with you, and even if you die, you get better gains the more team mates that live. So there is a degree of variance. Hatch doesn't affect your MMR at all. It's neutral.

Its amazing the lengths of paragraphs people will type just to say they're not very good at the game.
8 -
So, the game's description just proves what I said, the game is designed to be 1v1v1v1v1 in soloQ.
Per MMR, it was changed not long ago that the result of team mates can
influence your ranking. You get better MMR gains when team mates escape
with you, and even if you die, you get better gains the more team mates
that live.According to wiki, what you described only works if you queued as a SWF, not as soloQ.

Now imagine there would be no DC penalty as many are demanding. Then killers would only play against bots because everyone would be disconnecting cause of wrong map, wrong killer, fast down, etc.
Then all that's missing is activated Anonymous mode / private profile and no problems on the profile or reports.
I would love to block such players from my personal matchmaking.5
