Exit Gates Should Regress
Exit Gates Should Regress if you take too long to open them. The entity should slowly take progress away each time survivor isn't on the door, making it more difficult to just 99 and escape. I think it's definitely be more.....incentivizing for people to just leave a match

Makes no sense.

It would have to come with something to prevent killers from holding the gates. For the occasion where you get two gates close together. Trapper or any mobility killer could just keep them regressing.
11 -
Make it regress if they are 2 or more survivors.
If there is one survivor, gates don't regress.
5 -
That would be fine but still wouldn't stop a trapper from just walking back and forth resetting his traps. Especially if he's running an addon that injures the survivors. They'll be forced to run off and heal, then disarm the trap, then start again.if they even have time to get started. The regression speed matters most I'd say.
To be clear, I'm not against this idea. I don't know if it is a change I would like without seeing it in action. But it needs the bugs worked out.

delete blood warden and sure

As soon at they make they nake the 2 last survivour force pick up sure b

If you want to start EGC - you can open the gates yourself. Stop demanding from the game to do everything for you.

There should be a perk for it. Maybe a hex perk or something. As much as I think gates should regress base kit it would make remember me absolutely insane.
0 -
That should be a perk, not base kit
3 -
Just makes the game boring. People will just leave instead of going for endgame saves, if you're really that desperate for your endgame 1stage kill then idk what to tell you
13 -
You are fully capable as killer of opening the gates yourself. Just open the gate and start EGC. Problem solved.
Gate regression is not needed and as someone above said would make it too easy for certain killers to hold gates indefinitely regressing it, especially with bad gate spawns when they’re right next to each other on the same wall.
4 -
It sounds like an interesting idea.
However gates must never be close if they do this.
0 -
To be fair it was only internal testing, nothing we saw.
4 -
it’s a bad idea anyway
5 -
Open the gate yourself if it bothers you so much
4 -
I don’t think that’s a good idea basekit. I’d have no problem with a perk that does it though.
0 -
It's not.
3 -
easily abusable
2 survivors left, both have flashlight. they can now run together and do anything they want to, since killer is forced to pick up, so, free flashlight save every time0 -
yes it is
8 -
No, it's not.

all that does is make solo Que worse because they can’t have one person keep the gate from regressing while the other two try and get the save. Plus blood warden becomes better with survivors being forced to open the gate. Plus the timer starts when the survivors don’t want it to. It’s a bad idea
Open the gate yourself If you want the timer to start6 -
Fine then BHVR should space out the exits I am getting sick of Exit generation being random with chances of them being right next to each other.
2 -
By that literally anything is worse for solo queue if it's a killer buff. That's a pointless argument.
Open it yourself is disingenuous. If you waste the time walking over there and doing that you've thrown whatever pressure you had making it pointless.
3 -
Devs have tested it in the past and realized pretty quick it wouldn't be a good idea. I would assume because as others have said, it's pretty easy to get chased away from the exit gate. Getting hit by static blast from Doctor, Trappers traps, etc. Not to mention endgame save attempts can be crazy fun, even if the result is more people dying.
4 -
making the game worse for solo que isn’t the way to go. It’s not pointless because this will effect solo Que and not sweaty swfs.
What is pointless is the idea to implement the gate regression thing since the devs pretty much said it wouldn’t work
4 -
The number of times I've died because the killer was on my tail and I couldn't divert long enough to open the 99ed gate far outnumber the times I've been saved by a 99ed gate.
IMO 99ing isn't worth doing and it's a habit from old DBD where blood warden was considered a perk worth running.1 -
It effects swf, saying it doesn't affect swf is incorrect.
The devs have said a lot of things didn't work well that they ended up implementing. You also never answer my point. By your rational anything is bad for solo queue if it buffs killer.

I dunno, the Survivors made it this far and even prepped the door. I don’t think they should be punished for it. Maybe a 5 second regression at the most? Don’t think it’s needed though.
If anything, I feel like if the Survuvor stands in the exit gate for more than 15 seconds, getting hit by a killers M1 or M2 should cause a mini-blood warden (like how Mr Baldy and Victor do).

trapper on midwich…

A perk that would regress gates might work. It would definitely make Endgame perk builds more viable.
0 -
I'd be fine with a perk that does this, provided it has a work around to not be busted with Remember Me, but as a Basekit feature I'd really rather not. The Endgame is largely meant to be in Survivor's favor, let's keep it that way.

Terminus.
1 -
Make Gate regress, then remove EGC timer. Now this is a good change, you will never see survivor 99% gate.
Devs already said the end game never mean to give either side advantage. Gate regress with EGC timer gives killer advantage.
3 -
Maybe as an additional effect added to a perk like Remember Me or Fire Up, but base kit it’s too much.
0 -
“Gate regress with EGC timer gives killer advantage.” Yep the only reason why they want that feature
5 -
Not true. Stuff that you have to coordinate for is what hurts solo que.
1 -
sounds like they just want free pressure to me, and to put more burdens on survivors in endgame. Gate regression would be over kill. Some of these maps are so small, and gate spawns. Terrible idea as a built in mechanic.
3 -
No. I’m fine with making something like that into a perk but not base-kit. Certain killers and perks would make this feature extremely unfun and unfair. Bad idea.
3 -
no

The Endgame is largely meant to be in Survivor's favor
said who?

If you remove the EGC timer then the gate regression is irrelevant. The point should be to put pressure on the end game to end, it currently is not pressured. Since it can be 99’d the end game lasts as long as the survivors want it to.
0 -
@JeanGreyarea That doesn’t require coordination at all.

Exit Gate regression is something that we tested out a while ago and scrapped the idea, as it really felt awful to play against.
The point of the EGC is to end the game, so that survivors can't hide and hold the game out for the full hour. Now the killer can open the door to start the timer to end the match. It's not a mechanic that's there to help one side or the other. There's no plans on changing this either.
12 -
Wraith doesnt like this.
2 -
Tips: you can open a gate yourself to end it in 2 minutes.
I do most of the time to trigger Blood warden.
0 -
By walking over to the gate and opening it yourself you are forfeiting any end game pressure you just had. IE it's irrelevant at that point.
Also, opening it yourself for Blood Warden is always a bad play. That's the most obvious tell that the killer has Blood Warden if they ever do that. Never something you should be doing if you're running that perk.
2 -
yes it does, if if the gate were to regress you need one person to keep the gate from regressing a lot and 2 others to go for the save.
Mandy already said that it was terrible to play against. Told you it was a bad idea

Unless they're in SWF, I can open a Gate when no other survivor see.
Spread pressure before end game to make them all injured
Then hunt a 0 or 1 hook stage survivor and hook them away from gates.
Chase an injured one to a gate force them to open.
There are a whole strats to pull it off. Not focus on 1 injured on last hook to secure a kill, and leave other remaining survivors to complete the last Gen then have no reason to come back and escape with 1 kill, which seems most killers do.
Why did that Nemesis chased healthy last hook David instead of me being injured with 1 hook in my lasted game? Then the game end with 1 kill. A Deathslinger 2nd hooked me instead of last hook other 2 survivors, and in the attempt to secure, he got 3 kills.
Gate regress doesnt matter when most killers dont play survivor enough to understand survivors' habit. Only focus on how to get a kill. End up getting 1 kill.
1 -
No, you literally just open it. That doesn't require coordination.
Sorry I don't trust their testing.

of course you don’t
