What is the purpose of showing prestige in the lobby?
People often say prestige doesn't matter, and I understand why as just because "Bill" is a p2 doesn't mean he's not cracked, just as a p100 doesn't mean you're very good either. But I do think it does matter when it comes to expectations. I've seen many people seemingly targeted because of their prestige, if it's really high they get tunneled or if it's really low they get tunneled, also some people lobby dodge if the numbers are too high or too low. I don't think it matters when shown at the end of the match, but in the beginning it just doesn't feel like it adds anything positive.

I think the devs are looking into it and may make it so that you can hide it.
It doesn’t really serve any purpose except for showing off - which is something this community is actively asking for so idk.. seems like there is not really any way to please everyone.

It seems like getting tunneled off happens all the time and people doing it just throw in some excuse (eg prestige level, perks used, cosmetics, playstyle)
In the end, tunneling is a legit playstyle as well and you are allowed to do it..

If you are the one who hides it, you will get targeted because you have something (=P100) to hide.

well. And if I am not hiding it I will be targeted because of high/low/middle prestige. So.. 😴 guess everything will stay the same

This is why i don't bother with Anon either. Gives you no advantage and hackers can see your name/profile anyway if they want.
