So about Chucky's changes...

This is an open letter to BHVR, what were you thinking with these Chucky changes? On the PTB, almost everyone agreed that the removal of pallet scampers was justified, and window scampers were fine. However, you have done a complete 180 and removed both without telling anybody previously. Nobody wanted this, and nobody likes this. In addition to boiling Chucky down to a boring dash killer (scamper chains are useless), you have also removed Brad Dourif's voice. Chucky no longer laughs when going under pallets like he outsmarted you, and he doesn't do his little "Hup!" when scampering through windows. It is sad and deplorable that you made the laziest possible changes to fix the scamper issue. Below are the changes I and the Chucky community think would fix his major issues, while still keeping his character.

(+) Added back manual pallet and window scampers (they now take 1.45 seconds).

(+) Slice and dice scampers now take 1.2 seconds.

(-) Brought power cooldown up to 14 seconds.

(-) After performing a manual scamper, slice and dice cannot be used for 4 seconds.

These changes aim to make scamper more of a tool against stronger pallets, rather than being used anywhere. Additionally, the scamper into slice and dice combo can no longer be used as effectively, removing Chucky's free hits.

    honestly I think they should just give chucky more control after chained slice and dice vaults/scamper, right now it feels useless since any decent surv knows you just have to go on the side of the pallet and chucky can't do anyrhing, a 110% killer should have a good chase power, this feels lacklaster even for a 115%

    Literally no… do not bring back manual scamper. Not on windows but especially not on pallets.
    The whole point of them removing manual scamper was to eliminate scampering into an M1.

    Camera lock while in slice n dice (or even just preforming S&D scamper) needs to be higher than 90° so it can actually be utilized. The increased speed of S&D scamper is great, new cooldown is great, increasing the turn rate will help so many players.

    I didn’t realize that going through windows was removed. I’m actually pretty upset about it. I wanted the scamper under pallets removed but not windows. That was fair. Oh well… I might stop playing him now.

    Thissssss idk why they thought most of these add-ons would be fine unaltered. Basically all the scamper addons are terrible compared to the Slice and Dice options. Massive shame.

    Yo, DZM here (Chucky Main). To my knowledge BHVR weren't upset at the Scamper into SnD, they actually encourage using SnD more. They changed him because of the Scamper into M1. Which wasn't an actual thing, all the survivor needs to do is run back around the pallet and they don't get hit by an M1, only way it's a "Free Hit" (M1) is if you have the Running Shoes add-on. Otherwise you don't get hit by an M1. Do the testing and you'll see. Wesker and Vecna actually get free hits (M1) when Vaulting and lifting pallets. He was fine just the way he was before the change. The removal of window Scampers also wasn't asked for and wasn't needed. A few people are saying this is a buff with the cooldown (which actually doesnt matter that much when survivors just predrop, you can SnD around but they'll just vault) and why they may be right to an extent everyones missing the point. They have removed everything about the killer that made him fun and unique, (180 Flicks, Scamper Cancels, Scampers) and apparently some of his voice lines according to Mr. Smithsonian. He's just boring and doesn't feel good to play anymore, and I don't think anything needed to happen to him. Could have changed Running Shoes add-on along with 2 of his Purples ( Mirror Shards and Pile of Nails) cause right now they're useless. That's my take on the changes, please feel free to inform me or correct me if I am wrong about anything. Chucky is my favorite killer in the game and I don't think it's fair that he gets massacred because the community can't learn counterplay. In my opinion these changes killed Chucky.

    They should add scamper back. The problem is not that you could vault over pallet, it was the speed you could do that and the such a low window for survivor to react to it.

    Window scamer removal is just horrible.

    He feels so bland and one-thing only killer that they ruined him.

    Chucky is strong af now. Run both of his cd reduction addons and you can spam his power non stop.

    I disagree. Manual scampers were not always a guaranteed M1 hit if the survivor knows what they are doing. Chucky was fine, and now look how they massacred my boy.

    True but this is now what all this killer is about. Raw pallet scamper probably needed to go but with the window one being also gone he feels fairly one-dimensional.

    Edit: Scamper at Windows should still be a thing regardless.

    Other than that I'm OK with the changes myself… but there is a QoL I have wanted on Chucky since day 1. When I played him, I actually didn't know about the raw Scamper under pallets into M1 when he first came out, I thought you could only Scamper under pallets or over windows during Slice and Dice.

    I spent 4 days trying to play like this, and the constant problem I hit was that my camera got pulled behind me every time I scampered, which meant my facing after my camera got yoinked was not pointing where I wanted to go, and I'd lose part of my slice and dice turning my camera back to where I was aiming before, which was usually not enough to reach the new position of the survivor. Obviously they are not standing still while I'm scampering, so unless they ran in a straight line, I'd often be left with literally no chance of landing a hit.

    A PC Chucky might still have a chance of flicking his aim to hit it, but as a console plyer, I literally can't salvage my S&D aim in time to do anything before it runs out. He's a third person killer… he's the one killer whose camera shouldn't be touched at all by vaulting, but especially during his S&D.

    Scampering on Chucky is like his unique trait…. but for the sake of a more interactive encounter I'm happy to lose the raw scamper under pallets… but please free my camera when scampering. I have a 90 degree lock on my aim already with S&D; at least let me aim my slice and dice without yanking my camera off my target part way through.

    Forgot to add in my post above that his other major trait is being third person, which adds more into the argument his camera should behave differently to other killers.

    If BHVR want to keep his regular vault locked then OK I guess… but surely we should be leaning into his unique gameplay more than just giving him what is effectively a better Pig Lunge.

    Increasing pallet scamper by 0.05 absolutely does not fix the problem with pallet scamper, they can't do that. Scampering into m1 is the main problem.

    I don't think hidey ho pallet scamper is salvageable. Window scamper i'm still unsure on.
