DBD needs a rework

Ok guys. I am a long term veteran if this game. I joined back when wesky was added into the fog. I play killer and survivor equally. However the game is quickly loosing the fun ive experienced for so many years.

We are now approaching the end of the 2024 twisted masquerade event and myself and my team have some issues id like to point out. First id like to stat that i am for both sides here. I understand that killers need to kill and survivors want to live and both sides are willing to go to any extreme to make that happen.

My problem is that majority of the community has grown similar to that of games like fortnite, apex legends, or other competitive multiplayer games. I miss when killer would dance around the map or scare u for the fun of it, or when survivors would risk everything to simply boop the snoot one time. What happened to that...the players just wanting to have a good time.

Now all we experience is gen rushing, tunneling, camping, repeat flashlighting, and overall toxicity. We need to come back around to just playing a game. This starts with the good players first…

If you are a killer try to match ur survivors. If they are better than u or matching ur level then obviously go all out. U need to try to win...who wouldnt. But if ur one of those killers who plows through all the survivors and still sees 4-5 gens left....pls show some mercy. By this point u know your going to make some good bp for the match...chill out and let them get some gens done, let them do some healing. If u want make a 3 gen so when they get to those gens u can just kill them. This allows the survivors to still make some bp and earns u a lot of respect. We are all people playing a game...try to remember this.

If you are a survivor (squad, duo, or any other) do the same thing. Match ur killers power. If they are killing u left and right or its an even fight then pull out all the tricks. Fight dirty if u have to. Just like them we want to win too. However if the killer simply doesnt match ur skill or the skill of your team then give them a bone. Throw em some pallets u dont need or let them get some hits when u feel u can get away with it. Done just bully them. This ruins the experience for them too and encourages killer toxicity which the next less skilled survivors have to deal with.

Im not here to whine and cry. We threw out the rule books a long time ago...now we have been running in a state of anarchy. Only the strongest get to live or kill and everyone else has to deal with it. Lets rewrite to rulebooks. Rewrite them to encourage a game where everyone can have fun. Its is a game....survivors will still die and killer will still loose. But we dont have to be miserable while we do it. Together lets create a new age for dbd and lets help this game continue for many years to come. The devs have many more killers and survivors to add....dont let this game have a early death. We are better than this...

Asking players to behave differently never works.

Instead i think the game needs better balance and matchmaking.

Like this anniversary event is far too killer sided.

Perk balance is still not great.

Matchmaking is just bad. It doesn't feel like it scales noticeably.

Going easy on players just isn't fun.

I understand your point. However i do disagree. I started this game as a killer main. Playing doctor, legion, trapper...now demogorgon and twins. If u try to have fun with the survivors 60% of the time at least 2 of them join in. And some of those moments are my most memorable. Killers always have and will control the flow of the trials. However stalling the final hooks for a min or two (which could be spent kicking gens, pallets, injuring aurvivors, etc) doesnt seem like a lot to ask.

I wouldn't want to stall the final hooks. Dragging the game out when the survivors know they are going to lose seems annoying. I get annoyed when nurses get multiple downs at 5 gens and 2 hook everyone anyways. The game is already over.

And i don't care about bloodpoints at all

Why not care about bloodpoints. Especially as survivor bp are what get you the more powerful items that can make games easier. And id rather have the killer let me earn something then repeatedly getting tunneled out of each match for maybe 8k bp and loosing my item and addons that cost almost what i earned. The point is that the community needs to change and the players and devs must work together to acheive this. If not dbd will soon be ranked alongside games like fortnite that only hold a few specific players that are toxic enough to keep fighting. Dbd main hold in the spotlight is its mix between horror and fun....now its loosing half of what made it good
