Please please please please let us mute survivor hook screams
Survivor hook screams are so loud in general but some survivors like Yui or Feng literally scream so loud it makes me pull off my headset or my ears ring for a second afterwards
I play on console so I can’t alt tab out but even if I played on PC that’s not a good solution we should just be able to mute them
I understand that putting someone on a meat hook would cause them to scream quite loudly IRL but this is a game and I prefer to not have people literally screaming in my ear when I play
Hell if you want to make it balanced so that turning it off doesn’t give a competitive audio advantage then you could make it so it just mutes all game audio for a couple of seconds after hooking someone
The game is already loud enough… some killers like Sadako make loud screeching sounds in the lobby, some chase musics are really hard on the ears too. And we can’t forget that stupidly stupidly high pitched hiss that Xenomorph makes in the lobby which makes me turn my headset all the way down when selecting him.
Please just give us the option to disable this. Hook screams are so loud. It actually hurts my ears to hear someone screaming into them up to 12 times per game. And like I said, screams from Yui and Feng are just downright deafening.
Turning down your headset volume or running perks like Calm Spirit or other perks that silence screams (which you can only control if you are playing survivor) are not good solutions.

Sounds that don't affect game balance,
such as voicelines, killers laughing, survivors scream,
must be adjustable by the user.4 -
If you are the killer, you can hit them mid-scream to silence them.
Nothing you can do as a survivor about it unfortunately.

Hit the pause button as you get hooked, all sounds are dampened in the pause menu so it's not as bad.

Never thought of this! Thanks.

I'd put them all at 0%

for the first year of DBD I used to play on mute cos all the moaning and groaning (when injured and on hook) made my housemates probably think I was watching naughty videos..
finally figured how to pair Bluetooth headphones to my Nintendo switch lol safe to say my Gen performance improved a little more.. however I laugh in the face of hex lullaby lol0 -
Sadly my main, Lisa Garland can shatter glasses with her screams and groans
