When will players stop tolerating these changes?
These changes are absurd. You nerf a killer that is rarer than sighting a albino tiger (twins). Skull merchant got nerfed all because the inflated killrate where survivors avoid the DC penalty by self-unhooking and giving up. Survivor and killer perks changes that don't make any sense. Changing memento mori offerings to another bloodpoint offering is beyond ridiculous.
I can't wrap my head around it. What makes you decide to consider these changes in the first place? I'm truly in shock reading this September developer article.

Im not understanding the outrage over the memento mori? They've made it basekit and changed the offering.

Because the mori is locked to the last survivor, iirc. How are survivors supposed to Photo bomb a mori now?

Yeah I read it wrong. That's on me. I thought it meant the yellow offering only lol. Maybe it will help prevent tunneling for a mori but don't really see the need for this change.

They made them bloodpoint offerings… and removed the ability to do multiple moris, which was the fun of running Memento Moris at all. Now if you want to Mori, your options are:
- Slug for a 4k, hook one, Mori the other.
- Bring Devour which is easily cleansed.
- Bring Rancor for a second free Mori if you catch the Obsession.
- Play Sadako, Myers with Tombstone addons, Pyramid Head, or Vecna and HOPE for the chance to Mori.
All of which lessen the opportunities to Mori, make Mori achievements and dailies and challenges harder for no reason, and lessen interactions around Moris while making them worse to use and promoting unfun tactics. That's why people are outraged.

That's a thought. Is the scenery transparency change in effect when say GF does a mori mid match, or is it only for the finisher mori? If so, do survivors count as scenery? Because I'll be disappointed if I can't make GF take a picture of Jeff's dumpy anymore.

Yes I posted above that I read it wrong. I thought it was just the yellow mori being changed. A change I don't really think is needed. It may help with tunneling when people would only do it because they brought a mori though.

twins where really god dam strong to ridiculous level if played right right under nurse and blight and your only counter to plays vs her was to hold victor like a backpack when he leaps on you and loop for 5 gens so your team don't fumble because on how over tuned he was i play with her and against her a decent amount she needed tuning down last time she got her stats release she had a 67%kill rate just behind skullmerchant and ppl don't dc/killthemself vs twin like they do vs skull also matches that ppl dc from the last stats update they saied that dc matches don't count toward the killrate stats count
merchant is just unredeemable lmfao they need to give her a new set of abilities from the ground up

I seriously hope we complain hard enough to make them change the Mori system to KEEP multiple Moris, but give points too. Because these changes right now aren't very healthy and will ensure we never see Moris again unless you slug for a 4k. Something everyone already hates.

How can GF or any Killer do a Mori mid-match now? The Moris only give BP now. They don't let you kill extra Survivors anymore.
If this is not the case, can we please get a Dev to clarify?

I believe it's just the finisher mori, but I'm not certain.
Edit: I haven't played GF in about three years, and forgot he can't basekit mori lmao

It's not just finisher Mori, Memento Moris now ONLY give BP, they don't let you Mori additional people because the Devs falsely believe the basekit Mori "makes Memento Moris obsolete". They're not obsolete. People ran these offerings to be able to DO multiple moris or guarantee a Mori, for fun, or to make Adepts easier. They didn't run them for BP gain…
So realistically, BHVR just nerfed Moris into the ground and gave us a singular freebie Mori, maybe, on the last guy if we sweat for a 4k as compensation, once more hammering in the idea that "you're not good at Killer unless you 4k" which just is not true and shouldn't be the type of tryhard balancing we should be giving the game. I don't want a partial ability to maybe Mori the last person if I sweat, I want to be able to Mori whoever I damn well please.
Good thing I can just bring Rancor on my Main, right? But even that isn't the same…

The offerings will mostly be a point sink. Imagine bringing a BP offering that ONLY gives any BPs if you 4k... a brown BP offering would be better.

I guess I can still bring them with Rancor. Why bother bringing any other time? Just advertises to the other side you want to sweat for a 4k, and I basically never want to sweat for one. It either happens or it doesn't.

Right? Currently if I see a mori while loading in, it just means I get a neat animation instead of dying on hook. With THIS if I see a mori offering... it's basically announcing "I'm gonna slug for thr 4k".

Hence why I'm never bringing one again, I'm not sweaty enough for it.
BHVR, we don't want a partial freebie Mori and maybe some points if we bring the offering. We want ALL the Moris and the ability to choose our Moris.
I guess I better bring one every game now, just to be rid of the damn things, seeing as I'll never use them again.

Unless I'm reading it wrong again, this, plus, rancor could land you with 2 moris? If you manage to mori the rancor person before the survivors can escape through the gates, then you still haven't mori'd the final survivor. Or slug one before killing the rancor person. This still involves having to have either killed or ran the other survivors out of the match. That is doable in many situations.
Personally I have no problem with moris as they are. My only issue is that the majority of the time that Ive seen one used it turns into a tunneling fest for at least one unlucky person. This could've been solved by making an overall hook count, spread across survivors, needed to start a mori.
Edit: I'm unsure if this change just means the final survivor in the match or the final survivor after killing the others. The final survivor in the match means it could happen a lot.

I'd consider playing those killers 1 match each for their dailies, but after those horrendous changes, I'd rather re-roll. We just fixed these killers, so why mess that up? I hate to be this guy, but were they even tournament playable? Absolutely not. And with that finisher mori mechanic being cancelled, that's literally all of the proposed killer buffs we got in 2020 GONE. You got a net negative on gen defence, chase perks, tunneling, aura perks. You've lost everything if you play killer.

Most players do not care about being comp or tournament play. Not sure why you brought up either.
Mori change is still kinda bad. That's what the thread is about, not how good or bad a Killer might be. Can we stay on topic please?

I do not want only two Moris. I want the ability to Mori as many people as possible if I so choose. It's all about having the choice to Mori some, none, or all the Survivors if I want.

I dont get why someone should bring a mori over puddings or bloody party streamers. The BP gain has to be extremely high for these offerings to be worth the effort.
I dont get how they come up with designs like leverage, which incentivise tunneling.
I dont get how destroying a killer just to make them vanish from matches is a positive for anybody but people that constantly gave up on hook out of entitlement.
I dont get why we design perks that are exponentially stronger against weaker killers than stronger ones like quick gambit.

The idea of Finisher Mori as a whole is simply unhealthy.
By hiding the Mori animation behind a 4k, it automatically incentivizes people to slug for the 4k...and we all know how fun and riveting it is.
Not to mention it also indirectly encourages proxy-camping/tunnelling, reduce Killer variety and perk variety in order to get that juicy animation (which I guarantee will get old really quick and will be met with more scorn than a normal 4k, it would be a matter of time before Mori animations are seen as a form of BM like "let me rub my victory in your face a bit longer with this cutscene") since when Survivors start to get better, weaker/slower/M1 Killers tend to struggle more and need to play more aggressively to compete.
Hiding Mori behind 4k is, in my opinion, only going to make people hate those animations and will make the game even less casual/newcomer-friendly than it already is.
There's a reason why the dreadful basekit Unbreakable was attempted alongside the Finisher Mori PTB: otherwise every single games would just end in a slugfest. Hell, during that PTB there were more bleedout games than normal even though people could get up because Killers wanted that animation after tunnelling the first 2 Survivors.

Yes, at least those still exist.
It was already rare to see another Survivor get Mori’d. But now? I wonder if I will ever see a teammate get Mori’d again. It’s too bad, it was such a shocking moment in a match to witness one. From a Horror perspective, it was pure diamonds.

Depends on your tournament. Some of the league's ban like half the killer roster for a variety of reasons.
