Distorion change is one of the best they could do. You can counter Lethal Persue at the start and you can get your Tokens back while chasing with Killer and escaping them. Thanks god all rats will be eliminated from the game - at least the part of them. Good Job BHVR. It's not 2016 and playing hide and seek.

Agree and disagree. You also benefited from people running it. The only thing stopping me from equipping many aura perks is distortion and it’s high pick rate. Now aura perks will be even more annoying.

I think that has to be the worst "benefit" someone suggested me, I assure you, you probably dont even have any impact on any of my games like ever, we probably never met in dbd. So unless your strategy is a major group of players which I don't see how that would make a difference anyway as one aura reading perk is more than enough, it would not even do a DROP positive or negative for me.
No aura perks wont be more annoying, cause people who use distortion to hide from it, wont force the Killer on us instead.

I‘m not playing distortion. I only wanted to tell you what it does to aura reading prick rate and it is definitely a huge factor there. Also soloq will be even worse when your teammates go down even faster, BUT maybe they will improve now.
You know what would be funny 😄, when distortion users now use boon shadow step. I would laugh out so loud

I don't see how you can prove that the fear of distortion does anything to the aura reading pick rate, I certainly dont fear it.
I dont see why Killers should worry at all, the pickrate is about 33% according to nightlight which means there are other Survivors.4 -
They made distortion useless lol (outside of countering lethal pursuer)

I don't know why people stereotype Distortion users as being completely useless and just doing rat behavior by hiding all game.
People can use Distortion while being good at looping, like I said in some other post a while back... Distortion only rose in popularity due to the amount of aura perks/add-ons that were introduced.
People will do rat behavior regardless of a perk that they bring. You will still have people hiding in edges and corners without Distortion. At the end of the day, people need to do gens to escape and not all Distortion players play like rats. I've seen many take chase, unhook, do gens, etc. If anything, it prevents a snowball on Friends Til The End after a survivor is hooked.

The "1 perk that counters 500 perks and addons" arguments against Distortion never really made sense to me. Because when a killer brings a full aura build all your tokens get eaten up in a second anyway and your aura still gets revealed all game. Whether you hide or take chase all game you barely have time for all your tokens to regenerate before you lose them again. Especially with this new Weave + Franklins meta.
Also in the patch notes, the devs make it seem like aura reading is the only way to find survivors. What happened to gen patrolling, using scratch marks and blood pools, using your ears, or just plain old searching the map? Isn't that the point of this game? Why are the devs promoting using aura reading as a crutch? Yes, those perks and addons are useful but killers should not have to rely solely on them.

How often do you have games where you load into a match and no one is touching a generator or progressing the game? It seems unrealistic to rely on waiting for your teammates to die for hatch when the primary objective is completing generators.
If that was the case, we'd see Left Behind, Wake Up!, and Sole Survivor used more often.

It doesn't affect solos more than swf. Hell, distortion is better in a group; you can tell your friends which aura perks are in play.
This is the same convoluted logic used when people tried to equate the MFT nerf as a nerf for solo survivors.

Why do I not have this issue with all these "distortion rats". I exclusively play solo que and I have never noticed this as a big issue. Is this a low mmr thing or something?

solo survivor player here, distortion nerf is warrented and welcome. distortion players finally will be forced to earn their power.

To address the bottom part of the comment, the reson why it seems like aura reading is the "only wway" to find survivors, is because it's the most OP form of it. Literal wall hacks can give some very vital peices of information.
A lot of killer players, over rely on the aura reading as an "easy" way to find survivors. Which in turn teaches them bad habits, and now how to patrol and pressure gens properly.sorry if this is just drivel, I just got off an 8hr work shift I am very much fired.

I feel it would be really nice to have the 2v8 aura revealed notification, I feel that would be really good for the game now, that way newer players know what they are up against to learn from it, like what weave attunement notifies and that's still useful.
