Dracula has perfect Counterplay, people just refuse to learn and complain right after release
Some people were saying that the 2.5 second cooldown was somehow making Dracula stronger, but that literally makes no sense because they didn't change fundamentally how any of the powers actually work. The only thing this cooldown does it make Dracula feel WAAYYYY more fluid to use.
Which is true, his biggest issue was just feeling majorly clunky. Which was entirely solved with the most recent change.
It's like Old twins with Victor. He had a five second cooldown after downing someone, which was SO LONG that it felt absolutely horrible, being stuck there slowed for that long. The animation was even timed with it so it just looked like we forgot how to walk.
Then with their rework, the entirety of it was just to make them feel less clunky, and yes a lot of the changes where to cooldowns. Can you guess what that did? It made them feel way more fluid. This doesn't give them some insanely huge power spike all of a sudden it's just good QOL. (I am talking about post ptb twins changes, PTB twins was stronger than nurse xD)
Some people also said he can just switch to bat fly over a pallet and catch up to you, as if this was "new" to his current tweaks.
- He could already do this
- Just stay… at the pallet.
He doesn't transform fast enough to hit you vaulting over the pallet/window as long as you pay attention. Just vault when he transforms and force the break. Slow vaulting helps mind game them here too, just like spirit.
The bat is meant to close the gap on distance and map traversal which is exactly what it does and did before. The cooldown doesn't change any of those points we were talking.
Dracula feels more fluid now and if they remove the part that makes him feel that way, he will just go back to being clunky like twins, which is just unnecessary.
Much love, I just wish people would learn the counterplay and actually test this stuff in customs before saying simple cooldowns are overpowered.
(PS, the reason knight felt clunky was because he had 3 separate abilities with their own cooldowns, however they also SHARED a cooldown from being able to use any of them, which is actually what Dracula has, 3 different cooldowns per form, and then the 4 cooldown being shapeshift). However when they removed that cooldown entirely, since it was already enough with each ability having their own cooldown, knight felt much better and way less clunky. This change did not make Knight any where close to being some new OP form of killer, just… better and more fluid.)
Imo removing the shapeshift cooldown entirely would have the same effect as with knight. It's just not needed, but with it being 2.5 seconds it also prevent accidently switch backs so I think it's fine.
Here I also made a video on this subject speaking about this and explaining it, and showcasing at the end the counterplay.

It's always the same story.
The issue is that people these days are used to resolve things by crying, so instead of learning how to counter the new killer survs will cry for a nerf.
And as I always said we too would have killer players crying if survs were not just skins.3 -
That's really not true at all, this change massively buffs his 4v1 which it's ignorant to say it doesn't, the 2.5second cd also allows him to use his powers in the 1v1 more often too.
The wolf form losing hug tech makes sense but it doesnt when they wont remove it off other killers like wesker and billy LMAO, seems they just want it to be used for tracking especially now with the shapeshift being faster0 -
Completely agree.
People constantly complain about hellfire saying it's impossible to dodge. I've had survivors dodge it no problem. And on top of being easy to dodge, it can't go through walls like Pyramid Head's punishment.
Bat form is still worse spirit with a garbage teleport.
Literally no point in using wolf form without hug tech.
If one genuinely thinks Dracula is OP I suggest they stop playing for mental health reasons. They're going to have a heart attack when they face Nurse, Spirit, or Blight.

What I am saying is his powers being able to be used more often isn't due to the fact that he has a shorter shapeshift cooldown, it's the fact that the specific cooldowns on the actual forms are inherently short.
The 1v1 remains unchanged in this aspect same as before, if you did fly over the pallet, smart survivors would just stay and the pallet and force you to break it, you would just be stuck flying their for an extra 3 seconds or so waiting to swap forms before you can actually do any sort of health state damage.
With only 2 forms being able to do any sort of attack that does damage, and 1 of them (the wolf) is massively underpowered, having a shorter shapeshift cooldown is almost required to not feel like a waiting simulator.
I'd argue more that the 4v1 isn't buffed because of the cooldown changed, it's buffed because of the now very fast bat form, and very fast base kit teleport speed that lets him get across the map quickly after hooking someone. Although that is deserved to be the trade off for a form that can do now physical damage.
I think the shapeshift cooldown is perfect as is, however I wish they gave some compensation to the wolf form instead of bat form since it was already pretty ok. (Maybe add the ability to see blood, and the fast TP speed was good change).1 -
Exactly I asked a few Comp player streamers what they thought, and the response was basically
"There are so many other killers that are just… way better. They should leave Dracula alone, he's fine as is, no need to bring him back to B tier"1
