Chaos Shuffle: offerings and items/add-ons need to go.
This is kind of a vent post but I'm sick of going against bullshit add-ons, items or offerings in chaos shuffle. It not only removes a HUGE part of the "chaos" of it. But it also often makes a silly gamemode that is supposed to be for the funsies utterly miserable.
Regarding the "chaos" part of it: what is chaotic about players being able to decide what realm they will be sent to? Map offerings are controversial in normal matches, so they are 100 times more bullshit in what is supposed to be a "chaotic" gamemode. And what is chaotic about deciding what item to carry and what add-ons to use? To be honest I could accept folks being able to choose their items/add-ons if only they weren't such sweats and didn't bring the most OP ######### every trial. I've had my issues with killers running OP ######### but lately I've been mostly playing killer myself and jfc… when I say every single match is filled with pink add-on medkits and BNP toolboxes, I'm not being sarcastic. And like. WHY?! WHY are folks running such OP ######### in the silly haha gamemode? It's beyond my comprehension.
Not to mention the Eyrie of Crows and RPD offerings. I swear to god. Like I swear ON MY LIFE.
(What is it with RPD? Why does EVERYONE AND THEIR GRANDMA wanna go to RPD these days? I wish I was joking but I keep being sent to that map both by survivors and killers and I ######### hate it so. WHY).
To be honest, in my opinion, the better choice would be just to remove all items, add-ons and offerings and have the players try to make the best of whatever perks the game gives them. I know folks usually get ridiculous and/or weak stuff, especially as killer since certain perks counter-synergize with certain killer powers (I just played a match of Doctor with a bunch of undetectable perks, and earlier I got terror-radius related stuff in Wraith and Freddy), but then again: it's a silly event gamemode. It will be okay if you get stupid perks and lose.
One could argue that, as it is a silly event gamemode, it's okay to lose to OP bullshit too. But I'd much rather lose because I got four undetectable perks in Doctor than because all four survivors are carrying styptic or BNP.
Another possibility would be to randomize everything. I'm not very fond of this idea. But it would be better than what we have right now.
Sorry for the rant. I just returned to the game after a year of not playing at all, and the year before that I played very little. I also just returned to the forums so I don't really know if anyone has made a topic like this already (probably). But I needed to get it out jfc.

Nope. I want my medkit - i don't want to be put into game with green key with bad addons.

And i agree bout items, addons, offerings being disabled. I came back cuz of that mode cuz it feels casual, played survs with my friend and got Infinite Tier 3 myers that liked to proxy camp. Whats the point of having random perks if items/addons carry you.
For that randomizer thingy u mentioned. Maybe toggle option? you can choose if u want to play addonless/itemless. Idk0 -
Then… why play chaos shuffle? Isn't the point of it to play with what the game gives you? Idk.
Toggle would be great imo. I still vouch more for no items/offerings at all, but toggle would be a nice middle-ground between both options.

If you are saying this from a killer perspective: no.
Killers are already abusing camping and tunneling knowing full well people will not have Off The Record or Decisive Strike, so medkits and flashlight saves are the only things keeping survivors alive in those situations.

I'm saying it from both perspectives. How about instead of proposing "patch" solutions to tunneling and camping in the form of items that can be abused too, we propose that BHVR makes it so that survivors have basekit abilities that make it so camping and tunneling aren't rampant in Chaos Shuffle? Small DS-like and OtR-like abilities would be nice.
Not to mention that killers can run bullshit add-ons too. It's not just survivors. No add-ons/offerings would benefit everyone.
