The second iteration of 2v8 is now LIVE - find out more information here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/480-2v8-developer-update

Thwack got done dirty

Honestly, this perk is genuinely worse than it was before the changes, which wasn't the intention (at least I hope).

We got a Token system, which amounts to 3 extra uses of the perk per-game at most, at the cost of 25% of the perk's range, and removing the aura reveal from it. Not worth it at all.

You only get 1 Token per hook so it's basically the same as before, just slightly worse overall.

Honestly, just the first iteration of the perk without a hook requirement would've been fine. Pallets are a limited resource, and have to be dropped first. Just revert the changes, and make it so that it's always active instead of requiring a hook, and it'd be pretty good.

Also, the bug where it doesn't activate on killer power breaks has been a thing for several patches now. Please fix it.

Nowhere to Hide is better than this perk in any and all cases that I can think of.

    1. Its silent.
    2. It does not warn the Survivor.
    3. It does not require anything.
    4. It helps you regress your objective.

Thwack is incredibly hopeful for a perk which quickly fades in comparison to alternatives.

    1. If I get DeadDog and want to clear the Saloon asap or in my first chase imma burn all 3 stacks.
    2. On maps without walls, Im supposed to leave pallets up and hope I can get a number on a Survivor later?
    3. There is no way I leave pallets up, Survivors always loop them again and again.
    4. I now have to manage tokens.
    5. So what do I get for having to do all this?
    6. It gives ANY Survivor a Warning that I'm coming and that I have location on them.
    7. It does not give aura reading anymore which is less precise.
    8. It breaks a pallet, nice.
    9. I have no clue, what is the light here I dont see it.
    10. I really hate to be negative, I am clueless.

I could think MAYBE see this perk is supposed to be used with Spirit Fury, but like, Knight got better perks for this situation too with Hubris.

If this perk is about "All those who stood in her path feared her mighty THWACK!" then make it give hindered to all who screams so I can at least catch up or something so people can fear me. How am I supposed to fear people so far away?

Actually Nerf Nowhere to Hide, THAT perk needs a token system.

Honestly Thwack as a whole is just a completely flawed perk. It gives you information when you often don't need information because you're already chasing someone. Even when it had the aura reading it was really only any good on ranged killers and even then if you want aura reading in chase there are other perks that are better.

Either way, the perk is weaker than it was before the update and it needs a change. If nothing else, keep the tokens, revert the range back to 32 meters and add back the aura reading, so at least it is actually a better perk than it was before.

i am pretty sure thwack! is only good for pig because of scream factor. the ability interrupt pig boxes. they likely just nerfed the perk to make sure pig can't utilize it to mori people. i still got a mori with it on dead dog saloon. it is whatever i guess.

i think its biggest strength is scream factor because almost nobody runs calm spirit and the perk pierces distortion but distoration got nerfed so why bother. don't think it is flawed. just very specific.

Honestly, the effect was actually pretty decent before, it just didn't activate enough. It let you keep track of nearby Survivors, see where the Survivor you were chasing was running towards, AND prevented blinds at pallets due to the scream.

I ran it a lot on Singularity because it works somewhat well on him (or at least did before it was bugged) and I like running bad perks for the fun of it, but the issue with the perk wasn't the effect itself, it was the steep requirement in comparison.

That's fair. I could see it being decent on Singularity, I didn't think about it on him.

In today's patch notes they mentioned that they fixed the issue that TWACK does not work with M2 moves but there is no mention about the missing aura part. Now, I wonder if the missing aura part is an intentional, still bugged, or unknown :/

The missing aura part is completely intentional as far as I'm aware. They deliberately changed the wording of the perk with the update.

But neither in the PTB changes nor in the live changes is there an information that they removed the aura reading part. It would be so sad if they removed this because this was the main niche of the perk to have aura reading too - also fair for the survivor because they screamas a notification.
